  1. The 1/4 inch outputs can send out two exactly identical sounds if the mixer(inside the Pod)'s left and right channels are centered (both at 0).
  2. I've said it in other threads and I'll say it again. The PG is POLYPHONIC, and works well for SINGLE notes. IME it also does okay when playing a note and its' perfect fifth. I also use 7 and 8 string guitars and have used the pitch glide to detune the sound coming from the low A1 (for example) with little to no problem, so I don't think that standard tuning is absolutely nessicary. What MAY help is clear, loud pickups and fresh (read:not old) strings. For example, my Strat has 500k pots and a noiseless single coil in the neck position that tracks WAY better than the SD Hot Rails in the bridge position, with the pitch effects as well as the polyphonic synth effects
  3. Do you have the fx loop block active in your chain?
  4. I ran studio/direct with full amp models and cabs (usually the Tread cab and 57on) when I used a poweramp and cab for almost a year. For a poweramp I used either a Carvin MTS3200 guitar head or a Carvin DCM1000 poweramp, and went through a Carvin 4x12 with Gt12-75s
  5. Of course you should, in fact, why haven't you? :) Learning to understanding is fun
  6. Ah, I left out an important one, neural net integration, so I can just think the tone and its there
  7. This sounds like fun! I have a small list... To be built in a manner that we can easily take it apart and clean or replace essential parts when we need to No wall wart Tablet integration adjustable volume for ALL outputs high cut in the DEPs 3rd party IR loading separate cab block completely writeable footswitches Hz, not % Default perams stay the same when changing models So pretty much everything we've been talking about for the longest time now and have been voting up on ideascale :p
  8. to get the best sound out of what you've got, I'd suggest getting an active PA speaker. I've had my Alto TS112a for a little while now and it's great
  9. I actually use both modes, depending on the song. It's not that hard to hold the View button for a couple seconds and turn knob 1 once.
  10. Hey I've finally uploaded some of my high gain tones. Link in my sig. No JCM800 though, I dislike any result that I get from it, but I've got the 2204, 5150, Treadplate, Engl, Solo100 OD, and Uber
  11. Hey, so I've finally gotten around to making a custom tone profile. The link is in my signature and there are several bare bones high gain tones in there. They sound good to my ear, let me know what you think
  12. I can share some of my high gain patches with you if you've got the metal pack.. It would also be helpful to share your setup as well.
  13. I get the same computerized sounds in the high end of my speakers after plugging into my cpu via USB. These noises don't translate into my recordings.
  14. I've been told over and over about how house wiring works but I always look like a deer caught in headlights when being told. Eyes start crossing and all. A good friend of mine who's an electrican came over and poked around in junction boxes and couldn't make sense of the mess of wires in my walls. Apparently the guy who owned the house before us was a wannabe handyman did some funny work. Door frames aren't even square..

    Tone Test

Yeah, the guitar was definitely out front in the mix, but I know the guitar tone was the object of attention
  16. ^exactly what I do. I even have the wall wart affixed to the inside of the PT board
  17. Yeah let's vote this up so the Helix gets more IRs :D But jokes aside I'm with you!
  18. I used to do the same thing with my GEQ, but then I realized it started interfering with patches that use particle reverb and octave reverb (I make a lot of spacey sounds), and I was sick of having to remember (or I'd just forget) to turn the GEQ off for my bass patches. Now I just use EQs in the chain.
  19. I'm sure that my real problem is the wiring in my house. I should take my rig to my dad's house and find out if I get the same noise.
  20. My brand new Pod's headphone jack only worked on one side. Could be faulty outputs.

    FRFR ?

Hey guys, I commented earlier, agreeing with what some of you have already said: You're old. But that's as far as the statement really went. I didn't go on to say I dislike older people, think you guys are stupid geezers or don't think anything you have to say has no weight in the world today. Why would I be here if I didn't care or wasnt interested in anything an older person has to say? Don't resent being old, because I don't resent it at all. In fact, besides Old-Rocker talking about it, and after I seen a thread polling everyone's age, anyone's age here hasn't crossed my mind. Same as if someone were a different in race, religion, gender, sexual preferences, fantasy sports fanatic, doesn't matter. I see a forum full of guitar players, Pod users, and awesome experiences. Rock on, you old bastards!

  23. Power conditioner didn't work either.

    FRFR ?

Man, you guys are old :D But I'm really glad that older folks have embraced new tech, and even newer music. Linkin Park and Slipknot came out when I was fresh into my teenage years.
