  1. I tried the PM12a with my Pod HD a whole back and it was just so harsh compared to my Alto. A Katana with Helix sounds like fun, and would make a good backup in case something were to happen to your Helix
  2. Wow A lot has happened in this thread since I've last visited. I was away creating the perfect tone on my helix just for this thread when The Police themselves came to my house and confiscated it as evidence. Bummer. Oh well
  3. Vote for undo: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/UNDO/864064-23508 I haven't seen a submission for deleting presets
  4. I have a perfect example of that tone from my Helix. Do you have a PayPal account? Hope your hat is of good flavor
  5. Same thing happened to me before when trying to copy something between setlists. This reminds me, I should back up all my presets again..
  6. Archon lead, my usual IR, cave Reverb. You'd be surprised how much you can do with that one reverb
  7. ...and trust me, when the song is at a certain point where the mix consists of subtle bass, sparse cymbals and droning, washy guitar that reverb most def matters!
  8. I don't think anyone here is trying to out them as pick-and-stick-synching pioneers, rather than having a little too much fun wondering how they captured the performance with what seems to be hidden microphones!
  9. I dont use the touch feature much, and the usefulness of NOT hitting the wrong FS is a winner for me! Plus they look awesome! 10 each is a little steep tho...
  10. I'm a proggy ambient guy. Helix reverbs are workable for me because I'm used to them from my Pod days. I stack them, put delays in front, EQs after, run some in parallel, but I'd rather not do all that. Patiently anticipating a reverb update :) Some people don't have the luxury of an awesome studio setup, good standalone interface, high-powered computers and libraries of VSTs, and are going to be paying off their Helix for a while...on a teacher's salary (in the lowest-paying district in Ca I might add)...with two children of his own...
  11. I noticed that too. Watch the very end of the video, the drummer hits the snare at the very end and we don't hear it, maybe cause the mix is turned down after the song and the audience's applause is turned up..or its pre recorded. If it's pre recorded, those pantomime drum solos are spot-the fuck-on! And if we want to add more tin foil to our hat party we can argue that maybe there are mic'd amps offstage somewhere..(and a mic'd drumset with ....ah nvm...)
  12. My solution is to wait for them to be updated and make due with stacking reverbs and EQs in parallel
  13. C'mon now, everyone knows they ran direct 8)
  14. Yet another segue into needing multiple parallel routing per path...
  15. Love that video. Always makes me want to play drums, though! I use a loud US Double Nrm (high bias setting helps), compressor in front, spring reverb after when covering Ventures. Brand spanking new strings help too.
  16. Like any good boy I divide my time between diving/tweaking and actually playing so I can do both (I'm a tweaker and a player) Bring on the drowning!
  17. You should if you haven't already. I have an amp I'm not very fond of but running the Helix into it made it sound so much better and it was a blast. I still like my wedge tho
  18. Goes to show you, nothing wrong with high gain amps :D
  19. I've done tons of EDM gigs with my guitar and a few DJs. Complete impromptu stuff, and my SoundCloud has my own electronic guitar kind of stuff, all with analog gear, pods, helix...
  20. I have a rocktron banshee. All you need to do is set up a path that utilizes the microphone input and then just set up the rest like you normally would. I personally like to put my talk box last in the chain so I can Taylor the sound coming through the tube. I use an Alto TS112a, which has two inputs, and have used that second input for the mic without even having to use the Helix for any DSP heavy presets
  21. Neither do I, but when it happens, I flip over to a block that shows the position and it always says 1 (heel) when it's obviously resting at 100, or does it happen momentarily and come back on for you?
  22. Keep an eye on the Position parameter. Does it jump?
  23. I have the same problem but with a switch less wah. Position parameter jumps to 1%. I'm wondering if it were connected to a volume block I'd get the same problem... Hasn't happened since 2.11 but then it did again recently
  24. Makes sense.. Volume from the amp block affects input volume of post fx, causing them to react differently, less decay or feedback, and needless to say, volume. Output block for me!
