This happens to me so much now. The chain is almost always freezing on me until I change a parameter or move the joystick. Another think to make sure is that you have irons loaded in your IR slots. I know it's a bonehead thing but sometimes we make bonehead mistakes

Just got home on my morning off from running a few errands, fired up my Helix and loaded up my OCD boosted archetype preset ( my go-to metal sound) and proceeded to blast riffs and leads for just a few minutes before hanging up the guitar and stepping back and thinking "man, fuck an update, my tone is awesome!

I have an A30 preset I made for my PRS S2 that I love. It's got the right amount of chime and brightness, while being full and thick. My IRs high cut is set at around 5k. Plug in my strat with 500k pots and hot pickups and I'm rolling the cut down to about 2k to get it to sound right. The important thing is that it sounds right.

Glad it's working out for you. I had the opposite experience, I previously owned a Pod HD500X and did all my fussing and fighting with that before we made nice. This made Helix a snap.

Change the Y split to an A/B split and mess with the slider, see what happens. Make sure the blocks are turned on

if you want to create presets that sound good live, loud, and through a PA system then I suggest you create presets loud and through a PA Wedge. I bought one soon after I bought my HD. I use it to monitor myself at gigs and practices, and to build presets. The Meambobbo guide posted above is a great resource. I demoed all the amps inside the device and made presets for each, and tweaked every single one of them until I found my favorites. I would start out with a SINGLE INPUT of Guitar, with simply ONE amp block and the high-cutting EQ of your choice (I used the Para EQ), get that to sound good and comfy, then start adding OD, etc.. Low and High cuts are key after the amp. The Cabinet section has a low cut parameter and I usually use a parametric EQ after the amp (to dial out harsh mids and to cut highs). Low Bass, Kill the Hum, Low Res Level (I didn't like to cut it completely).

I write, chop, eat, throw, and swing a club or bat with my left, and just about everything else is with my right including swordfight, shoot and cut with Scissors. Wrist injuries forced me to learn things with opposite hands, so some things I am ambidextrous with and since then I try to learn all new things with both hands, eating, writing and drawing, typing with one hand, was trained to fight with each foot forward as well. Without presets where would we be?? Lol.. I could just as easily design a shirt that reads Tap Dancing Sucks, but outside these circles a lot of folk might not get it. That's good to know of because I have my Helix, speaker, and wireless all connected to the same power strip most of the time and would like to just turn it all off with one flip of a switch sometimes

Hold all FS buttons, Exp toe switch, BYPASS, ACTION, AMP and SAVE while turning on your Helix floor unit and you'll look and feel like a Jackass

I have no personal experience but hear excellent things about them and I want one. I'd get a 10 because I have an alto 12 and it's a little Overkill
