We are hoping so! More effects is better in my book. But the nice thing about the helix is that you have the fx loops so you can run your Pod into it and use those effects inside helix. That is what I am doing with my digitech Rp360xp because it has some effects that I use that helix lacks.

List your real Overdrive Pedals that you use with Helix
zivdud replied to vertibration's topic in Helix
Just got a Catalinbread SFT foundation overdrive and I am loving the tones I am getting with it. Easly nailing those QOTSA and Roling Stones tones. Great pedal! -
I usually increase the speakers volume for each of my presets but the the end of your chain going out to whatever your output is has a volume increase as well.

Glenn Delaunne has a acoustic/classical patchs that has a decently, convincing 12 string emulation using the pitch shift. You might have luck trying to use/find a 12 string impulse response too. Or pick up a variax but nothing beats a real twelve string. Hope that helps!

I used to use my PA system which has two yorkville nx750s and there have15" speakers. They have a bass cut on the back which I used when I finally got my subs. It sounded great but I wanted a rig for living playing and now I just run it into my Firehawk 1500 and my DT50. Hope that helps.

HELIX - How do you output the audio for performance or recording?
zivdud replied to MarkJarvis's topic in Helix
Recording: I run the right and left xlr's into my presonus studiolive 24 mixer. Live: I run helix into a Firehawk 1500 and a DT50. Best of both worlds. -
It should be as long as you downloaded the latest version 2.20. There is two factory preset bundles at the the very top of the bundle presets and a third that contains templates the rest are empty for user own. There are no third party amps or effects because everything is modelled by line 6 and through their updates they keep adding more for free! But you can get IR's on line for free or pay, there is a lot out there, and you can get user presets from custom tone via line 6 website or through varies people who make and sell their own: Glenn Delaunne, Scott Helix channel and others. Hope this helped.

It would great if that would extend to us Canadian customers, too! We tend to get the shaft being to the north of you(US) and I have a lot of Line 6 gear as do many Canadian musicians.

What frfr speaker/amp do you guys use for at home and jamming?
zivdud replied to spearmint95's topic in Helix
Mostly my Firehawk 1500, DT 50, or my Yorkville NX75 even my crappy Logitech computer speakers sounded good. -
As for the "hiss," I had that running my helix through my PA system and thought that is just modelling the nature of a tube amp, much like my other tube amps.

I personally love my helix and Firehawk 1500 set up still experimenting with different setups because I use mine for both guitar and bass. I imagine in the future there will be more integration of the two as more development happens but I have never been happier with my tone and the versitity of my sound ever before.

Maybe Devin Townsend set up might help. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lgP5qirTKjU

I have been using my Firehawk 1500 for bass and guitar. I love those two piece of gear together. My lowdown 175 is starting buzz pretty bad and I don't have time to rip it apart and see what the problem is. I am going to play a show on bass this weekend we'll see how it goes.

I rewatched the Paul Hindmarsh video(great musician!) and when he switches to the acoustic guitar he is using no amp but can use effects blocks; so, why can't I get it to work? I guess I will keep trying until something clicks.
-
I guess until Line 6 makes an equivalent to the Helix's snapshot in a new firmware update the best you could do is just save each configuration as a preset and just switched between them the "old fashioned" way. That is how I have been running my Lowdown for years.

Just wondering if there is a way to use the fxs on FH 1500 when you have no amp assigned? I was trying but had no success. You can do it on the Helix so I thought you might be able to on the amp itself. Does anyone know? If not I would love to see it in an update.

I have been trying different ways to accomplish this and for the most part it works but I have run into some noise cancelling issues when doing so. I ran my helix, my beatbuddy, and my mic (through my digitech gnx4 for vocal processing) into the Firehawk 1500 in many different ways to test it; but it seems, every so often, the sound would drop out while I sang while playing guitar and the drums going. I ran the helix and the digitech into a mixer and into the XLR ins on the FH1500 (with a 1/4" from the helix into the guitar input of the FH1500) and than the beatbuddy into the fx return of the FH1500. I have also ran my beatbuddy, and digitech into the helix and than into the FH1500's XLR ins and the guitar in via 1/4" helix out. Still had the same problem. I still love the amp but it doesn't do what I was hoping it would. I will still try some more tinkering with it and if I figure a way I will let you know.

I would love to see the models of line 6 bass products become available for the Firehawk 1500. Everything from the lowdown, Bass POD, and the expansion pack. I am sure that some might be redundant because some were probable shared over a few pieces of gear. I have submitted to ideascale; so, if anyone else like this idea please vote.

I see, that makes totally sense! Thank you!

I thought this bad boy was supposed to be 1500 watts but on the back of the amp it says 600 watts. So, what is the deal there? False advertising or am I missing something here? Can some explain that one to me? 600 watts is still beefy and the most powerful "amp" that I own; so, no complaints, just curious that's all.

I got mine set up thus far: XLR puts from the Helix into the inputs of the Firehawk 1500 and a 1/4" out from the Helix into the guitar in on the Firehawk and I adjust that gain knob on the back to taste. Sounds sick!

Has anyone tried using the FH1500 as a bass guitar amp?
zivdud replied to Oyster38N's topic in Firehawk 1500
I have been looking for something to run my helix through that can do bass, guitar, piano, vocals, etc, and I think that I have found it. I own a Line 6 Lowdown 175 and I love it but I got to say that I love playing bass through the Firehawk 1500 because it sounds great! Just like a bass amp should. I just hope that Line 6 puts it's modelled bass Amps and other gear available for the Firehawk and/or Helix because I like options for tones and sounds. I kind of an effects lollipop and all. But I am very impressed with it for bass! -
I had the same problem but as soon as I ran the 1/4" out from the helix straight into the guitar in and the XLR outputs to the inputs for the Firehawk 1500 and adjusted the gain knob in the back I was able to get amazing tones out of it. Hope this helps!
