  1. Otherwise, simply go to Global Settings on your HX Stomp and set the Globals as you wish. Keep in mind that installing the firmware updates as instructed involve doing a Factory Reset Power On. This always reset the Global Settings.

    New Manuals

The current versions of the manuals for HX Edit and Helix Native software are each available as PDFs within in their respective programs by clicking the Question Mark Character in the lower left corner and selecting Pilot Guide. Each is also available as a PDF download from the Line 6 Website's Support Area under Manuals. Helix Hardware device User Manuals are also available via Line 6 Support > Manuals. Note that the latest version is 3.0. For information, features and enhancements introduced in the various interim firmware releases (as they affect the hardware), see the Release Notes. These may be found on the Line 6 website in the Downloads Page for each firmware release. See HelixHelp.com where the Release Notes are conveniently grouped for easy browsing. Another great resource is The Big Book of Helix Tips & Tricks available from Sweetwater Publishing as a PDF, which gets revised after each firmware release. As this is not a Line 6 publication, it takes a bit of time before the update is available. Earlier today the author Craig Anderton, posted in another thread that he hopes to have The Book update for the 3.5 firmware available perhaps in December.
  3. Pricey, but it looks like it should do the job! As Amazon purchases are now suitable for returns through the end of January '23, give it a try and if it proves to be unsatisfactory, send it back for a refund. Post back your findings to share with others here on the Forum.
  4. There are simply so many possibilities between the Mac and Windows OSs , that there will inevitably be some who encounter a bumpy road process! Even though the installation instructions advise to exit other programs, it remains possible that seemingly inert programs may interfere with the download or installation process. For instance, during Beta Testing, I intentionally kept other programs running to determine whether certain events triggered an interruption of the install or download. Factoring that in with the sheer server overload following the release of 3.5 -- as well as server overloads during certain Beta releases -- these can result in disrupted downloads or installations. Overall, users will get it right. It is quite rare now that the software at version 3.5 is responsible for bricking anyone's Helix device. Absent a significant power spike during download or installation, my impression is that the common denominator is Pilot error. This of course, does not rule out a computer triggering into sleep or suspend mode during 3.5's lengthy install, or another program triggering an audible or other notification disrupting the installation. The process of manually downloading the Firmware and using Line 6 Updater to access your locally downloaded firmware for the installation works wonderfully, but does require recognizing that after the firmware is installed, the user is left on their own to do the advised Factory Reset, as well as a protective backup before they begin using whatever version of HX Edit they may have. And, subsequently doing a Restore of any desired portions of the backup, then followed by another Power On Rebuild Presets routine. There are some steps of the entire process which arguably rely on common sense! For example, Line 6 should not need to explicitly tell a user that before the perform a Power On Factory Reset or a Power On Presets Rebuild that, in either, case they need to Turn off their Helix device. YMMV. 3.5 is phenomenal! Line 6 has done a great job improving the Helix Family products. Keep up the great work!! [~~Rant Over~~] ;)
  5. The download servers were getting pounded yesterday. So do not be surprised should you encounter download issues. If so, simply try again later.
  6. @coachz There is an excellent book entitled: The Big Book of Helix Tips and Tricks authored by Craig Anderton available as a PDF from Sweetwater Publishing. It has plenty of information about constructing Presets and Gain Staging, plus over 100 sample Presets. Check it out! Many have found it helpful to improve their use of the Helix family of products.
  7. The Das Benzin Mega and Das Benzin Lead Amps have been there since fw 3.0. After performing the firmware update to 3.15, did you perform the Power On Factory Reset as recommended in the HX Edit on screen instructions? And, if you're uncertain of the Power On Factory Reset Footswitch combination for your Helix device (as you didn't mention which model you have) see HelixHelp.com for the Reset Options. [Note: All the above, presumes you used the latest HX Edit version to perform the entire update procedure, rather than simply using Line 6 Updater to install only the device firmware. If you did use Line 6 Updater, download and install the latest HX Edit version and run it again to assure you have all the latest firmware, drivers, Factory Presets, etc.]
  8. Via the Sweetwater Website Page for The Book there may be an email address for Craig Anderton. If so, reach out to him to explore how you may be able to buy a copy. Otherwise, reach out to him via this thread by placing the at sign: @ before his name like this: @craigandertonwhich will direct a copy of your post to him.
  9. @coachzWhat firmware version is installed on your Stomp XL? And, why was the Output Block's Level set to other than Zero dB? It never hurts to do a Power On Factory Reset (after first doing a Backup). Then Restore any Customized Presets you may have previously backed up. Then do a Power On Rebuild to be sure everything is converted to the latest Firmware environment.
  10. Current workaround/remedy/solution: IGNORE Win11's Device Security Notification! Leave the Core Isolation Memory Integrity (CIMI): "OFF". Be sure that you are running a sufficient Malware Protection Product on your system.
  11. Awesome!! Glad you got it working.
  12. By no means was I intending to be condescending. Moreover, I later got hands on my Helix Floor and discovered that the User Guide does not explicitly list the actual Tuner Input Parameters available on the Helix Floor, as the device itself does provide a Variax Tuner Input parameter selection. Nonetheless, I certainly respect your preference for following the path of least resistance. Should you wish nonetheless opt to post an IdeaScale feature suggestion from your user case, I would certainly vote it up and encourage others to do so as well.
  13. @BOLDRONYou certainly have an understandable scenario of wanting your Helix routed Mic to remain open whilst your Variax is Muted during Tuning. I am not at my Helix Floor at the moment to look at the Tuner Parameter options or if there are any pertinent Global Settings; nor do I have a Variax. Nonetheless, glancing at the Helix Floor User Guide 3.0 PDF page 44, see if the Tuner Input Parameters (Knob 1) offers a "Variax" option (rather than "Multi"). If so, give that a try. Also, set Tuner Output Parameter (Knob 2) to "Mute". Poste back if this works. Should that not do it, head over to www.line6.Ideascale.com and submit your feature request so it may be voted up for Line 6 to consider including it in a future update. [Note: When I submitted this reply earlier today, I was apparently not logged in; as such it did not post at that time.]
  14. Fully Agree. There does not seem to be a satisfactory method. :((
  15. Post it on IdeaScale! Then post the IdeaScale link back to this thread, so we can rally the troops and vote it up!
  16. See HelixHelp.com for Reset Options.
  17. A pair of active (powered) studio monitors would be ideal. They're available at various price points and physical size ranges. If you'll be using them while seated at your desk, a pair of 3" or 5" are likely to suit your needs. Otherwise, consider 6", 7" or 8" options. Ik Multimedia, JBL, Kali, and many others offer products over this range. Best to try before you buy, if you can. Otherwise, consider a vendor with a satisfaction guarantee.
  18. @leonardoborges, likely there will be several more years of development and firmware releases for the Helix Family products. Time will tell. To make amp suggestions for consideration, go to Line6.IdeaScale.com and submit them there.
  19. Good you got it working. And, yup. I'm confident that Line 6 will get you sorted out.
  20. Have you tried reinstalling your DAW or VSTHost in which Helix Native is running?
  21. About 57" from the AC Prongs to the Barrel Connector. Of that, the power supply block is about 5". If you need a longer reach use a quality AC Extension Cord, or Power Strip. Another alternative would be to consider a Barrel Connector Extension Cable. The HX Stomp's Barrel Connector is 5.5mm x 2.5mm so you'd need a female to male of that size.
  22. Also explore using a Dual Cabs Block! Regardless if you select two of the same or different Cabs, and explore using different Mics and Positions. [Addendum: I forgot to mention that you can also explore the Cab's Reflections parameter to add a bit or room feel. Or, if you've got the DSP on your Helix, split and pan the cab blocks. Insert a Simple Delay Block and use a few ms of delay on one of the cabs. 1ms = approx 1ft of distance. These can create a bit more of a bigger feel to add to the sound. Neither, will be the same as AITR, but you may like the results. ]
  23. Be sure you do a backup first if you have any Presets, Global Settings, Favorites, or other settings which you might wish to preserve and possibly Restore after performing your Factory Reset!
