  1. Yes, if you are just going to change presets/snapshots, a midi controller would do the trick.
  2. Yep, if it's not phantom power, start a support ticket. You may have a hardware issue. I have my XLR outs set to mic and not line as well. Still have PLENTY of headroom with my main volume at about 2:00.
  3. I use Helix exclusively at church, and it is PERFECT for the diversity that it offers. I set up a preset per song for about 50%, and use some "generic" presets based around particular amp models for the other 50%. I also route some pads through it played from my iPhone (sometimes we don't have keys). You can't go wrong with the Helix in the P&W setting.
  4. That is the only other thing I can think of as well. Check to make sure phantom power is turned off a the X32 board on your channel. I go through an X32 as well and phantom power does something similar to my sound (very weak, doesn't come through well).
  5. Even what they did seems well above and beyond what should be expected for normal warranty work. Offering a replacement while they are working on yours is WAY beyond normal. I do not play professionally, but if paying my bills was dependent on my ability to play and my schedule was very gig heavy, I would have a backup system in place for scenarios like this. Just my $0.02...
  6. I don't remember you posting about this a hundred times, your profile says you have 14 posts. A few questions: 1. So you are going Helix>XLR out>X32 in? 2. In global settings>ins outs, what is Guitar Pad set to? 3. In global settings>ins outs, what is XLR Outputs set to? 4. What guitar(s) are you using and what pickups? 5. You are saying it is very quiet using headphones connected to Helix as well, even with headphone volume turned all the way up? 6. In global settings>ins outs, what is Volume Knob Controls set to? 7. In global settings>ins outs, what is Headphone Monitor set to?
  7. No biggie, there is still a lot of good stuff you can find going through the older ones.
  8. This is a bug with the Mesa Amp models (Mk IV I believe). If you have bass set at 0, you get this phenomenon.
  9. The post is almost a year old, and they tend to transform over time.
  10. For anyone that has any questions they feel the need to post about "Fizz" related to Helix (or any modeler in general), please FIRST go to the search field at the top of the page, type in FIZZ in the search bar, and read through the two pages of posts that pop up. If your questions have not been answered by the end of the two pages, then by all means post your NEW question that has not been covered in a new topic.

    Multiple guitars

Before I had my Helix, I would change guitars on my pedalboard/tube amp rig. I just switched guitars and played. I now play through Helix only and I do the same thing. I switch guitars when needed and just play. At the end of the song if I feel it necessary to change presets for my backup guitar, then I switch. 99% of the time, it doesn't matter. Yes I do have some presets that are specific for a particular guitar, but I can still play other guitars with them. If you #1 is a PRS and switching to a Tele #2 kills your performance in the event of an emergency, then I would suggest getting a backup guitar more similar to your #1. If you are changing guitars mid song, you have some dead time in there anyway to make the physical switch, so you could easily switch presets if you thought necessary.
  12. Open a support ticket and they will be able to help you through issue, the LED color code sequence, and what they mean.
  13. I believe the 7CM template handles two amps, as opposed to 4CM for one amp.
  14. Recording: I use Helix as the interface, USB 1-8 in/out to PC or Mac Performance: XLR Mono out > Behringer S16 remote rack > Behringer X32 board. Behringer P16 mixers for in ear monitors.
  15. Nice to hear from a happy user!
  16. Yes, there is a HUGE difference in building presets that sound fantastic when playing solo at home, and one that will sit in a mix with a band. I think most forum members that are integrating multiple modeling systems or VSTs, and filling up their presets with dozens of effects are trying to achieve solo home tones. Sometimes they can be utilized in a recording, but usually when there isn't much else going on in the other tracks. Don't get me wrong, I do the same thing at home just experimenting with the capabilities/concepts, but my live in the mix presets are much different for me.
  17. It's related to the electromagnetic waves inducing currents in your audio (hot) signal, not the actual frequency from the transmitter coming through the signal.
  18. That is just for charging and data transfer to the transmitter. There is not in input signal there
  19. The receiver base just has two outputs (1/4" and XLR). No inputs.
