  1. The tricky part is the two transmitters. You cannot manually assign frequencies, so you have to try to trick them to both assign the same frequency so that they both communicate to the single receiver base unit. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
  2. Set your send/return to instrument level.
  3. I'd love to hear what you are doing with Helix and bassoon. You have any tracks you can post here?
  4. Are you mic'ing your bassoon? If so, the mic preamp model may warm things up. I wouldn't use any of the cab models.
  5. The consensus is...whatever works for you.
  6. Exactly. The user has FULL control of the overall EQ, in every position of the signal path if desired. So, it still goes back to who is programming the units.
  7. There's currently not a way to turn off CC Toggle data transmission when a preset is selected.
  8. I've heard two Helices in a band playing together, and they sounded completely different. Same too for a band with two Fractals, two distinctly different sounds and "quality". It's all in the hands and mind of the user, and the perception of the audience listening. One players "tone of dreams" is another players "tone of crap". All of todays modelers/profilers are capable of making just about any tone with superior quality. Again, it's all in the hands and mind of the user, and the perception of the audience listening.
  9. The "transparent" parameter for delay changes does not make the glitchy sounds go away altogether, it just decreases them. Changing the note value of the delay is a pretty extreme instantaneous parameter change, so you will probably still have some glitchy sound from it.
  10. If all that you can see for the foot switches is just presets, press the mode button to put it into stompbox mode. You should see all the footswitches assigned to parameters from there.
  11. ...and the SM57 mic seems to be the most harsh. On my strat presets, I generally use dual cabs. One cab is 4x12 with R121 mic, high cuts around 5.5kHz. I use that for more beef. The other cab will be a 1x12 or 2x12, maybe SM57 with high cuts at 7kHz or so, low cuts around 180hz. I use that for more sparkle. I prefer the mix of two cabs.
  12. Open a support ticket with Line 6. They may have a fix for your particular guitar.
  13. Some of my presets control about 8 parameters with a single expression pedal.
  14. Your amps are mic'ed going to FOH independently? The way I am envisioning it... Helix physical connections: Guitar in >guitar Mic in>bass via sans amp Send 1>H9 in 1 Send 2>H9 in 2 Return 1> H9 out 1 Return 2> H9 out 2 1/4" out L >amp 1 1/4" out R> amp 2 XLR L/R >FOH USB: USB O5- Wet guitar to DAW USB O6- Wet bass to DAW USB O7- dry guitar to DAW USB O8- dry bass to DAW USB In 1/2- tracks from DAW USB in 3- click? You have 4 signal paths in Helix. You can set one or more up for guitar, and 1 or 2 up for bass. Set the input block and output block appropriately for proper routing. Basically USB 1/2 in from DAW plays all of your tracks. You can route USB 1/2 to XLR out only in global settings. I am not sure about click track in your ears. I am uncertain if you can route click from DAW on USB 3/in, and route USB 3/in to the headphones.
  15. Couple (or more) of questions: 1. You have 2 sends going to an Eventide H9, but nothing coming back from the H9 to Helix? 2. 1/4" outs of helix are going to two different amps? Front of the amp, or loop? 3. What are you trying to do conceptually? (tracks and guitar from helix to FOH?) 4. Are you trying to play tracks through Helix to FOH? Basically all the routing you mention going to/from your DAW would just be done on Helix USB in/out 1-8. By what I can gather, you just need XLR outs to FOH, 1/4 outs to your amps, and send/returns for H9. You can play tracks from DAW through Helix on USB in 1/2, and route those to FOH. Wet/dry guitar tracks to DAW on USB 1/2, and 7/8 out of Helix. I may be missing your intent though.
  16. You also miss out on capacitive touch switches. I find them invaluable. Setting up stomp control is just a quick 2 second process with the Helix control. You will be missing out on functionality that makes work flow SO efficient.
  17. Yes... Global Settings>Footswitches>Preset Mode Switches---choose Preset/Stomp mode
  18. There is a user on this forum that plays electric violin, but I can't remember who. The Helix will handle any instrument with piezo or magnetic pickups. The Helix Floor and Rack also have a mic input so you can mic any acoustic instrument.
  19. Call Line 6 Technical support and open a ticket. Did you read through the advanced users guide? http://line6.com/data/6/0a064339312b551b201bd3ec1/application/pdf/Relay%20G70%20&%20G75%20Advanced%20Guide%20(RevA)%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20A%20).pdf
  20. The manual states "Use of a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port is required - Do not use an external USB hub."
  21. The stock cab/IR models on Helix are very good, but like everything else, some players prefer 3rd party IRs. Yes, IRs are wav files. 24 bit, 48 kHz, 1024/2048 sample IRs are compatible with Helix.
  22. Have you tried to verify if it is your guitar input signal not working, or the outputs? Does the tuner pick up your guitar signal when the outputs are not working? Is it the 1/4" or the XLR or both sets of outputs? What are you monitoring your sound through from the Helix (speakers, headphones, etc...)?
  23. Fantastic! Thanks for the spreadsheet.
