  1. is there a manual somewhere available how to match the sound, presets from helix hardware vs native ?
  2. I definitely prefer #111111 background color of the original Helix Edit than all-black Native background. And I find fx icons to be a little too small, but it's probably a monitor thingie. On the bright side - its very helpful to gray out first levels of categories from which you cannot add an fx block to signal chain, I would like to see this in Helix Edit. It wouldn't hurt to bring out somewhere within the sight the save button, too.
  3. good news is I had backups of my system drive and once restored the problem with plugin crashing disappeared bad news is I don't have a clue what might had gone wrong...
  4. reaper64 and tripleplay64 crash immediately after inserting an dll on fx savihost64 crashes right after showing an info box about trial period, see scrn
  5. it's 5.4 also, the TriplePlay 64 doesn't recognize HelixNative64.dll being a plugin
  6. oh boy.. I guess I should post this in native forums, anyway Reaper64 crashed both vst2 and vst3, jBridger won't work, savihost64 crashed right after authorization... (windows 8.1 x64)
  7. are You sure ? dragndrop works completely fine with Helix editor.
  8. I wish there was a way to add/remove/re-position items in pedal edit mode. I have presets of pretty many blocks involved and if I want to adjust parameters in pedal edit mode, it's very time-consuming to find the block (even though it's all color-coded) since they are so many there. I would like to have an option to have as little as two or three blocks in pedal edit mode, to start with.
  9. you definitely want to put harmonizer after overdrives if you need them to remotely remind different takes, otherwise it will sound as if played on one instrument. time based and modulation fx go after the harmonizer in chain. harmonizer will sound synthy, yes, but try lowering the mix of harmonizer module, it does not need to cut thru, just a little presence
  10. hm. for me Soldano was to-go amp from day one. Ok, from day two, because on day one you usually play all out. I don't know what exactly is underrated amp.. is there anywhere usage statistics ? :-D
  11. Yes. Helix has latency. it's around 50-70ms, it's noticeable The good news is that Helix has snapshots mode (something pod hd doesnt have) in which You can turn individual blocks on and off with no audible gaps (even time based fx trails) Many players usually set it a preset per song, so you don't have to switch in the middle of a song I suggest You read more info about snapshots

  13. LOL, yes, Drop is one of those "you love it and you hate it" pedals. It does the polyphonic tracking exceptionally, but with a side effect of heavily altered tone.
  14. It's been discussed here. Happens the Helix has lower quality sends/returns jacks, and they are a lot noisier. And it is something a firmware updates will not fix. Fx loops become generally less noisy if inserted after an amp block in fx chain, but well... it varies..
  15. doesn't sound impossible at all. If You need two inputs, you can use "guitar in" as 1, and "return" jacks as additional inputs. also, You can route to different outputs (with different fx chains). Somebody correct me, but this is very doable
  16. pc editor related: if two or more parameters are assigned to expression pedal, settings are not correctly displayed in editor when pedal is being moved. If minimum value is set to 0, sometimes it gets to zero, but more likely is stuck on higher values.
  17. I am sorry if I misinterpreted Your words. I just felt like saying that every product or service has it's price nominated by seller or service provider, and the buyer buys the product not a product plus its lifetime support (and, man, we're speaking OS upgrades, not service tasks like broken input jacks).
  18. do you indeed sincerely believe that Line6 would announce Helix like this: "hey, we have awesome new product. but wait, don't buy this one, because we have stripped down more affordable version coming in near future"... Really ?
  19. We are two guitarists in a band, I’ve got Helix, and the other guy is all analog with tube amp. Since I introduced Helix to him it really has convinced him that my setup is a convenient and great-sounding piece of gear and probably worth going digital some day soon for him, too. When Headrush was announced in NAMM I asked him if he’d consider it by any chance. He said, „oh, definitely not now, because it’s just starting, Line6 [and the other brands] will have to make its moveâ€. What we didn’t expect that this move would come so soon. Exciting times, definitely.
  20. I just don’t get it why one would cry over his purchase whenever a next product comes out and (naturally) has new appeal to it. Why doesn’t it really come down to a question if the differences in hardware aren’t worth the difference in price. It’s a marketing, forchrissakes, and the whiff of headrush, too, maybe :-)
  21. oh, I'd vote it up but prolly with having the ability to globally disable double-taps
  22. your prayers are answered http://line6.com/support/topic/24576-led-color/
  23. as far as i know, you can color-code snapshots (only on hardware, not computer editor), but not presets. I would like to add humbly "not currently" ;-)
  24. oh, GREAT idea ! It might be as well somewhat "auto save" mode, in which your stomp bypasses are saved within a snapshot only.
  25. from what you just said it's the Apple Inc. which needs to learn what backwards compatibility is ;-)
