hey all I ran into this issue, too (stopped on "boot failure", helix wasn't recognized by updater), on Windows 10 x64. What helped was uninstalling ALL hx drivers, and reinstall the hx2.80. Doesn't say in the instructions, but well, I'd suggest L6 adds this to some knowhow or faq page

I too have issues with helix footswitches, but only the tap tempo, particularly footswitch 12, and it is a different kind of annoyance. If I have timebased effects in a preset tied to a tempo, entering and leaving tuner mode sometimes changes the tempo thus the tails of effects. Aargh ! I would appreciate a possibility to remove taptempo feature from the surface at all, leaving footswitch only for tuner mode.

how can an update (and it's free for chrissakes) be disappointing ?

I have to confess I didn’t get into Helix party when it was released with only the first available patch-browsing demos, but pulled the trigger only when snapshots came into play, and community had grown. But something tells me that with this Boss this isn’t even the case :-D disclaimer. and for the sake of progress, I wish I’m wrong

I think this might be true when you are making sure you're buying some tehcnological algorhithmic atomic whatnot superiority which anyway is measured in microscopic scale. But this is music and creative convenience in the first place. It could be another thing to ask for a this or that bug fixed, but no one seems to really talk about it

and this one just screams to ask if Legacy is another obscure to most of us channel configuration :-D well, I sincerely believe we are just in some speculation phase here, because most of the times it has turned out to be a very smart decision from L6 and then we go "aaahhhhww, right, this is cool and well thought out"

I'd vote, absolutely ! creating a category Legacy is like dooming the effects to oblivion, or saying in some subtle manner that this or that thing won't cut it I really don't care where did the fx come from, I mean, from where was it im-ported etc

it's not that I doubt, but for double-checkin, I must ask if you have set digital out on helix to S/PDIF (and NOT aes/ebu) ? attach your helix preset and saffiremix settings, I could take a look

if you have spare rca, of course, do your chain a favor and test it. I remember the first rca-s I grabbed worked for testing purposes but they are of various quality

Hi, I use the same setup for tracking di guitars. you should be able to set all up in saffire mixcontrol program. try disabling spdif ac3 mode. if you operate in 48khz, you dont have to necessarily put saffire in spdif sync mode, leave internal. don't forget to make two new channels in mix1 for spdif1 and spdif2 also, in helix you can leave set output to multi since it includes digital, too, so you should be able to troubleshoot from helix outgoing audio first hope this helps

to some degree, I would agree I think gray-ish background was somewhat easier for an eye than the whole black as introduced with Native, but that's very personal perhaps on different monitors the most annoying thing is [the inconsistent] behaviour of the mouse scroll wheel on the editor

Update went smooth, as always. The new backing up global settings and IRS is excellent time saving and convenience feature ! And... Cartographer !!! What a brilliant and flexible model this is !! thx L6 ! I just can't get past it to try other new features !!! :-D
