Yes, you can place whichever pedals after Stomp and go into Powercab from there.
-
You can try searching for the individual tones using the Spider V remote app or customtone.com . If that doesn't work you will have to install the old firmware and save the tones using Spider Remote. The MKII presets are better sounding to my ears than the older firmware presets.

Auto-transcription / auto-tab
ADBrown replied to firehawkkwah's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
Variax doesn't actually use MIDI to change guitar sounds. The Variax tech processes the vibration/sound from the string to create the different guitar tones. Sending note data out to a transcription/notation software is not possible with Variax. -
For blues, I'd check out the Chime or Crunch presets. You may need to turn down the effects on each preset for a blues style. Hit one of the three FX buttons then turn down the amount using the FX knob. Adjust Gain and Tone to your liking.

Yes, you can backup a Spider V amp by plugging into a computer via USB and then running the free Spider V remote software. From there you can create a backup of all your presets.

You will need an Apple USB camera connection kit or Android 'On-the-Go' (OTG ) adapter to use Spider V 20 with Spider Remote on a phone.

Hold down the Home button to access the settings menu. Scroll down with the encoder to where it says Factory Reset. Scroll to the right and press the encoder knob to hit Yes. Note, this will erase any user created or edited presets.

HX Effects shouldn't be adding anything to your tone when all effects are bypassed. Check your global settings and make sure the output level is set to Instrument and not Line. For most guitars you'll want the want the input set to Instrument as well, unless you have really loud active pickups, in which case you may want to try Line. More info can be found about global settings and levels on pages 38-39 in the manual. https://line6.com/support/manuals/hxeffects/

Check out the POD X3 Model Gallery (attached below). There's descriptions for each amp, and some of the L6 originals go into detail and explain what they are based on, although some don't. POD X3 Model Gallery.pdf

Getting the Tone of a Zakk Wylde song See You On the Other Side
ADBrown replied to omairangel's topic in Spider V
You're welcome. I would start by recreating the signal path shown in the tone template I linked to in my first comment. You can recreate the signal path in your Spider V, Stomp, or a combination of them both. -
Unfortunately, because 2.00 is a firmware update in addition to new presets you will have to download the complete 2.00 update. Be sure to backup any exisiting presets you want to save BEFORE updating ton 2.00. You can update to 2.00 using the Line 6 Updater software, and manage and backup your presets using the Spider V app for desktop or mobile. A lot of the presets are brand NEW, with some really great sounds that were dialed in by Dan Boul from 65 amps, and a lot of tones directly from Line 6 artists.
-
To download the new presets and classic speaker mode you just need to install the latest 2.00 firmware using the Line 6 Updater Software. Be sure to backup any presets you want to save BEFORE updating, using the Spider V Remote app for mobile or desktop device. The updater and Spider Remote are available at line6.com/software. The presets in 2.00 are all NEW, including presets from amp guru Dan Boul and a lot of Line 6 artists contributed their own custom presets to Spider V Mk2.

Getting the Tone of a Zakk Wylde song See You On the Other Side
ADBrown replied to omairangel's topic in Spider V
To me it sounds like a flanger effect with some reverb. Poking around online I found someone who got close to the tone using a rotary speaker effect, which makes sense as Zakk used a dunlop rotovibe at times. https://line6.com/data/6/0a06438941d057b76091bd9f3/application/pdf -
All MkI's can upgrade to MkII by performing a firmware update using the Line 6 updater software. Both Spider V MkI and MkII are full range. MkII has improved presets and a new Classic speaker mode which disables the tweeter and cab model, using the amp model with the physical cab for a more traditional playing experience.

The simplest and most direct way to record your Spider V would be to connect it to via USB to your computer and use Spider V as your interface. You may need to download the Spider V driver depending on your computer, but once Spider V is connected via USB simply select Spider V as the input and output in your DAW's audio settings.

Helix and Spider V have different software models. The Helix models were made with much higher detail. There are a lot of the same classic real world amp models found across both products, but none of the HX amps, cabs, or effects are in Spider V.

Using the compressor and EQ built into every preset should be able to get you close to the sound you are getting from the Blue Comp.

There isn't any way to upgrade from for IV to V. As Jzng3030 pointed out, the rep was probably talking about the recent Mk2 upgrade. All Spider V's can download the 2.0 firmware and have the new Mk2 features and presets. If your new Spider V isn't the Mk2 model or not running the 2.0 software, you can update for free using the Line 6 updater app available at line6.com/software - it is worth the upgrade.

You might want to check out the rig diagrams at https://line6.com/tone-templates/ - there may be one to help get you in the ballpark

Here are the calibration instructions for FBV Express MKii, if you are still receiving an error, I recommend opening a support ticket https://line6.com/support/tickets/ FBV Express Mk. II: 1) Hold D while powering on the FBV. Upon release, the pedal display will read '1'. 2) Press and hold the pedal toeswitch until the 7 segment display changes to '2'. This should occur instantly. 3) Set the heel to the heel (minimum) position, press the D button. The 7 segment display will change to '3รข'. 4) Set the toe position (maximum) and press the D button. The tuner LEDs above the 7 segment display will light. 5) Move the pedal and verify that the tuner LEDs sequentially turn off as the pedal moves to the minimum position, and refills when moved to the maximum position. 6) Press D to exit

Spider V has 128 presets total, 124 factory presets, and 4 left blank. All presets can be overwritten. You can manage your presets, and download more presets using the free Spider Remote app for mobile device or computer. The FBV3 controller functions are set with Spider V. The top row, FS 1-5 control your effects, bottom row, FS A-D are for changing presets. There is also a tap tempo/tuner footswitch, bank up and down, and function which controls the looper. You wouldn't be able to assign 9 presets without changing banks. Everything can be edited and controlled from the front panel, you can select the AMP or FX button followed by the EDIT button to get into tweaking parameters. iPhone 6 Plus, should work fine with Spider V.

Hi, I'm not sure what is causing this issue. I attempted to uninstall and reinstall Spider Remote without issue. Are you using spotlight to search for the Spider V Remote app?

Using Line6 FBV Control program with FBV3
ADBrown replied to oldmanrockband's topic in FBV Controllers (MKI / MKII / 3)
If you want to move presets around to different ABCD locations start by choosing a preset and then pressing and holding the rotary knob below the screen. This will open up the save menu. Turn the rotary knob to scroll until you reach the second line that reads "Destination", press the knob once when selected. Turn the rotary knob to select a a different place to store your preset, press and hold to save. *Note that saving your preset in a different location will overwrite the existing preset in that location. You can use one of the empty user banks (presets 32 A-D) as a place holder, if you don't want to overwrite any tones in the process. Alternatively, you can also use the free Spider Remote app for mobile device or computer and drag and drop your presets in the desired order. This method is the easiest of the two.
