  1. I have run mine through a powered speaker with great results. Seeing as the Firehawk handles both amp/cab modeling, running it through a full range powered speaker will give you a true idea of what the models sound like. That being said I have also run mine through an amp via the 4 cable method and liked the sound I got. Personally I favored the powered speaker.
  2. The expression pedal can be set to control effect parameters but not amp parameters. To assign the expression pedal to control an effect parameter double tap on the slider of the parameter you want to control in the Spider Remote app. If this is a feature you'd like to see added to the Spider V you can submit it on Line 6 Ideascale, where members can submit and vote on ideas they'd like to see happen with Line 6 products. http://line6.ideascale.com/
  3. To connect your Ipad to the USB port in back of Firehawk you will need a few things. First the cable you need for the "funny" shape is a "USB A male to B male" cable. This cable is pretty standard, most printers use one of these. Next, to go from the USB cable into the lightning port on your iPad you will need an iPad Camera Connection Kit USB adapter. If you are going to out to a regular guitar amp, balanced or unbalanced cables will work fine. It sounds like the cable going to your student monitors is an XLR cable which is a balanced cable.
  4. The bender effect really shines on monophonic stuff. As soon as you add more notes or try chords it can start misbehaving.
  5. You can connect both your JTV59 via VDI and normal guitar via 1/4' to Firehawk FX at the same time. However, there is no way to swap which input is in use: both will be active at the same time. This could possibly be solved by turning the volume all the way down on whichever guitar is not in use. Since the JTV59 is going straight into the Firehawk via VDI there were would be no way to AB the signal between the Firehawk and the mixing desk for acoustic sounds. The Firehawk has both XLR and 1/4" outs so that would work the same as with your POD Pro.
  6. The DC-3g is the power supply used to power the Firehawk FX. You can find it and it's specifications in the Line 6 store in the link provided. http://store.line6.com/dc-3g-power-supply.html
  7. There is currently no PC editing software for Spider V. This idea has been posted on Line 6 ideascale, a website where people can post product suggestions and vote on them. The good folks at Line 6 look at these regularly too. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Spider-V-Mac-PC-Editing-Software/861751-23508
  8. When you try to search for tones on the cloud do you receive any messages or receive any sort of loading screen or icons?
  9. To get the free download code for Cubase LE 8 you have to register your Spider V amp on the Line 6 website. Then you have to setup an account on the Steinberg website to get the download for Cubase 8 LE and to get the activation code and install directions.
  10. If you weren't a fan of the HD500X already and liked the interface on your Spider IV, the Spider V sounds like a good bet. You can edit amp/effect settings easily on the front of the amp or with the spider remote app on an apple or android mobile device connected to the back. With the app you can download more user created presets from Line6's tone cloud as well. All the presets in the Spider V's are organized by effect, genre, artists, songs etc, which is a nice little afterthought. Best bet is to try one out, they are definitely a step up from the previous Spiders sound wise but are controlled in a similar way to previous Spider models and more traditional amp formats.
  11. The only update between Spider IV and the Classic 15 are the cosmetic differences you pointed out, otherwise they are the same amp.
  12. Got my cable today, works great. Thanks for the share.

There is not, a full list of effects including all reverbs in Amplifi can be found here: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/amplifi-products/ampl/amplififulllistofampsandeffects
  14. This link should answer your questions on how to download and use the files on the CustomTone page. http://line6.com/customtone/spideriv.html/
  15. All user created presets are available to search and download via the Spider Remote app for mobile android and iOS devices. Using the Spider Remote app you can upload and download tones to the Line 6 cloud similar to the way you can on the custom tone page with other products.
  16. Consider checking out Line 6 Idea Scale where community members can suggest ideas to Line 6 and vote on them, there are a few similar posts you may want to upvote! http://line6.ideascale.com/ http://line6.ideascale.com/a/ideas/search?templateId=0&query=in+ear
  17. A scene is basically a pedalboard arrangement. Switching between scenes allows you to switch between different arrangements and combinations of pedals. One instance this might be useful in is if you play in multiple groups or in different styles; you can have a different "pedalboard" or scene for your metal band, country band, and pop band. Or, perhaps one song you need multiple delays and reverbs and another song only calls for distortion, boost, and chorus; instead of cramming all of those pedals together and doing a tap dance to hit them on and off you could dedicate the delays/reverbs to one scene and the dist/chorus/boost to another scene and flip between them with no tap dance.
  18. Hi, I was able to get the g10t to transmit to both a Spider V 60 and the G10 receiver>amp simultaneously. Sync the G10t to the receiver, then on your Spider V amp hold down the home button for a few seconds, this will bring you to a menu where you can change the wireless setting from manual to auto. From there you can choose which channel you want to use on the Spider V amp. You will have to manually sweep through the channels and find which channel the G10t is on. Once you find the same channel you will have sound coming out of the Spider V as well as whatever your G10 receiver is plugged into.
  19. To achieve a 12 string effect using the M5's Smart Harmony try these settings; the "key" parameter can be left alone as it will be harmonizing the same notes an octave up, set the "scale" parameter to a major scale(some other scales settings can generate undesired intervals in this instance), and finally set the "shift" parameter to +8th (adding an octave above). Then adjust the mix to your liking, this should get you closer to a 12 string vibe.
  20. Yes, you can use the looper over the drum tracks.
  21. The FBV3 acts only as a foot controller with other Line 6 products, it does not have any built in effects. If you are looking for pitch based effects there are many modeled pitch effects in a lot of Line 6 products. In a smaller stomp box format there's the M5 which has both smart harmony and pitch glide effects. For "whammy"-esque effects you would need to connect an external expression pedal. Outside of stomp box formats there are pitch altering effects in Helix, Spider V amps, Firehawk FX, the Amplifi series, as well as the M9, or the M13.
  22. Hi KuRiXY, the G10 is good for 8 hours of continuous use. Mine charges in a similar amount of time and I have no problems with my unit, this is normal. Hope this helps!
  23. Hi, there are custom tomes available for the Spider IV series of amps, you can find them here depending on which model you own: http://line6.com/customtone/ To download them to your amp you'll need one of the FBV control boards, (FBV Express Mk2, FBV Mk2, FBV 3). You connect the FBV to the amp the and the FBV has a USB out you connect to your computer. Hope this helps! -Doc
