  1. Currently you need an FX block placed on Path B for it to exist. The best place to post product request is at https://line6.ideascale.com. On ideascale end users can post and vote on feature requests. Line 6 product managers do check in on ideascale.
  2. Consider posting this idea on https://line6.ideascale.com
  3. Which amp are you using FBV3 with? I don't believe it is possible to disable the loop feature with any FBV3 compatible amp.
  4. Hi Matt, if possible try dialing in your tones closer to the volumes you plan to use them at. The parametric EQ that is placed after the amp in the signal chain can be very helpful in accentuating or taming frequencies. If you haven't already I would recommend trying one the high gain amps paired with a drive like a tube screamer, gain set low and level set high.
  5. Hi ranchak, the compressor is locked after the amp model in Spider V. FX 1,2,3, Volume, and Reverb are moveable in front or behind the amp. One work around would be to assign a compressor effect to FX 1 and then your drive effect to FX 2 and have them both in front of the amp.
  6. Yes you can! Spider V amps have a high frequency tweeter in addition to a guitar speaker, so it works great with acoustic and electric guitar. The combination of tweeter handling the higher frequencies and guitar speaker handling the mids and lows allows yout to get some great acoustic tones from a combo amp. You may have noticed there are acoustic presets in Spider V that should get you going quick in dialing in an acoustic tone.
  7. You should get the color coded LED rings when using FBV3 with FH1500. I would first start by making sure your FBV3 is up to date with the most current firmware. To update FBV3 plug FBV 3 into your computer USB, run the Line 6 Updater application available for free at line6.com/software , and then update your unit to the latest firmware. It would also be a good idea to update your FH1500 to the latest firmware as well. If this does not solve your issue you will have to open a support ticket with Line 6 directly.
  8. There is no way to clear out all factory presets, but each one can be overwritten.
  9. Connect your Ipad to your Amplifi via bluetooth, you should then be able to play any music from your ipad on your Amplifi, whether it be itunes, spotify, etc.

    Vocal FX

The best place to get your feature request seen by product managers is to post them on ideascale. On ideascale you can post and vote on enduser feature/product requests. https://line6.ideascale.com/
  11. You can go USB from your computer as mentioned or you can use Amplifi's built in bluetooth capabilities. I use a software similar to Transcribe and connect my computer to Amplifi via bluetooth for audio. This might require changing the audio output to Amplifi in Transcribe's preferences.
  12. A little Allure pack background for you; the Allure pack of IR's was made by Dan Boul from 65 amps, he made the 6 IR's from the same physical cabs that are modeled in Helix. The pack is a good sampler, it doesn't go as deep as some 3rd party packs which include multiple mic placements, etc.
  13. It sounds like you may need to adjust your buffer size in Cubase to reduce the latency. You could also change the output so audio from Cubase is monitored from just Spider V or your computer's internal sound card. Spider V will still produce guitar sound unless you turn the volume down all the way on the amp and use your computer speakers to monitor.
  14. The Spider V 30 does not have a looper built in, Spider V 60 and higher all have the built in looper.

    Trey Tone

If no one comes forth with a Trey tone, his rig is very well documented online and you can probably get pretty close by using models of the same or similar gear. https://treysguitarrig.com/ http://www.strangedesign.org/rigs/
  16. As Phil has pointed out https://line6.ideascale.com/ is the best place to post feature requests and vote on these requests. It looks like there are already two posts for this feature request you can vote on. https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Give-HX-Effects-more-than-4-snapshots/923714-23508#idea-tab-comments https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/HX-Effects-6-snapshots/922560-23508#idea-tab-comments
  17. Any preset changes aren't actually made on the FBV controller but on the amp itself. To change the effects in a preset select the "FX" button. Turn the rotary push knob to to select which effect you wish to change, then push the "Edit" button. From hear you can use the rotary push knob to select the type of effect (modulation, delay, reverb, overdrive, etc), as well as the specific effect you want and any other controllable parameters. When you're done making your changes be sure to save them. Press the "home" button to get back to the preset screen, then push and hold on the rotary push knob for a few seconds, you'll be prompted to save the preset by pushing and holding the knob again. You can also make these changes using the Spider remote app for mobile devices/computer.
  18. First try updating to the latest firmware using the Line 6 updater software, free at line6.com/software . The most current firmware is 2.52. If you run into any trouble with a failed update or your unit will not boot up, try powering on while holding the right arrow ">" This will put the unit into update mode and you can re install the latest firmware from there.

    Overwhelmed

Start simple by dialing in an amp you are familiar with to get a good base tone you like, then start experimenting with adding effects to the signal chain. The included cheat sheet is also very helpful in getting you running quick. Many Helix users also turn to https://www.facebook.com/groups/line6helixusergroup/ for help and information.
  20. Snapshots let you make self contained variations of a preset. Meaning if you switch between snapshot 1 and 2, multiple effects could be turning on and off, and any parameters on the effects can also change. For instance my effects might be: comp, overdrive, chorus, delay, reverb. In snapshot 1 just comp and reverb are on, in Snapshot 2 reverb and comp turn off and chorus and delay come on, in Snapshot 3 all effects are on, in Snapshot 4 I have only reverb and delay but the mix has jumped up 30%. To access Snapshot mode press the bank up and down foot-switches while in preset mode. Select which snapshot you want to make your changes to (1-4). Select which effects you want off or on per snapshot. To make parameter changes press and turn on one of the 3 rotary encoder knobs, you'll see brackets appear around the parameter, that means that parameter will change between snapshots.
  21. Currently there isn't any offering of a Shuriken with any type of vibrato/whammy bar. You can always submit product requests at https://line6.ideascale.com/ At ideascale you can post and vote on end user ideas. Line 6 product managers do check out ideascale so it's the best place to post these types of request.
  22. If you have the cabinet modeling switch on the back of 240HC set to "On" it will allow you to use both the speakers in the head and the speakers in the cab. However, in this mode the built in 240HC speakers will only reproduce the high frequencies, and the cabinet will receive the lows and mids. This is to provide a full range of sound, ideal for modeling.
  23. Most of the presets will take some fine tuning to match your gear and playing style. I'd try one of the Cali models or the Agua 51. With bass EQ I like to think of the Bass control as the actual rumble or feel of the note, the mids and high to actually shape the sound of the note. When I think of Jaco's tone in Weather Report or elsewhere, it is definitely very mid-rich. Which helps to bring out the harmonics and fretless sound, but overall not a ton of bass. Another trick for bass presets, I will sometimes use the studio tube pre to run a "direct" sound along with my amp tone and blend them.
  24. I believe most Variax Standard's have a Rosewood fretboard and the Onyx has a Macassar Ebony fretboard.
  25. There are definitely a few ways to set this up considering both devices have amp and effect modeling. I would try setting up an amp tone you like in Amplifi, and use the Firehawk FX just for effects, essentially as just a pedalboard. For metal tones I would start with a higher gain amp as opposed to a clean one with stompbox distortion. You can always add more gain to the amp with an distortion/overdrive effect if needed. A generic starting point for metal tones is to also "scoop the mids" meaning reduce the mids on the amps EQ and accentuate the bass and treble.
