  1. I'd say it's a hardware problem and it's a coincidence about the firmware update. Craig
  2. Start it in test mode FS3&4 select UI Test and see what it indicates. Craig
  3. I don't know about in the Helix but in real life a split would cost -3.5dB.
  4. @datacommando and many others have the patience of saints answering the same failed update questions time and time again while others just don't bother answering them anymore. All the instructions are displayed in HXEdit and if for some reason the update fails, the recovery instructions are easily found in this forum without starting a new thread.
  5. Maybe it would be better if HXEdit didn't tell you about the new firmware until it had been updated itself?
  6. Cleckheaton was a whole different world to Tingley, we had to catch the bus to Bradford for the gig and missed the encore so we could catch the last bus home! The Roaring Silence came out before the gig and was the reason we went but you're right about Bruce and Dylan and all the others that MMEB covered.
  7. Yes that's true but I grew up listening to MMEB not Bruce Springsteen, I'm trying to think when I first heard Springsteen but it was a long time after my first ever gig!
  8. True, my mistake but there is one as part of the input settings that's not as obvious as having a gate block in a patch.
  9. My Helix isn't working at the moment so I can't check but isn't there a global gate on the input settings? That setting wouldn't be included in the patch you posted.
  10. You need serious soldering skills to replace one of those LEDs, I know because I've done one. Craig

    Helix 3.11 Issue

It was probably the MCU board, it's mounted on the the I/O board and a pig to get to unless you're feeling adventurous.
  12. So I finally gave in and did the reset and it hasn't fixed the issue. Time to get the screwdrivers out I guess. Craig
  13. Thanks rd2rk, I know that a reset cures many issues but by make it worse I meant go from a unit with my sounds in it that I can play to one with just factory presets that I can't restore. I do have a recent backup but if a reset doesn't restore USB functionality then I'm in a worse position. Has anyone had this issue before and did a reset cure it or was it a hardware issue? Craig
  14. Recently my Helix floor stopped connecting to my Windows 10 pc with a "USB Device not Recognised" messaged and I'm struggling to find a cure. I've tried different cables but the one I've been using works with other demanding devices. I've reinstalled all the Line 6 software I've installed HX Edit on another PC that has a pretty clean install of windows 10 Two things I can think of that I haven't tried are, A factory reset of the Helix but I'm hesitant to try that because otherwise it is working with all my patches and a full reset could leave me in a worse state than it already is. Try connecting it to a MAC but my friend with MACs is away until after the weekend. The PC's do produce the relevant "bongs" when it's connected or disconnected. Any ideas? Craig
  15. I just bought the Prince, AC100 and Dmbluxe packs and they sound awesome straight out of the box. They're the only presets I've bought that weren't a disappointment.
  16. I'd run a single jack to your monitor from the Helix Left/Mono o/p and let that do the summing for you. When I've got my sound guy pants on I usually pan stereo feeds (overheads/keyboards) about 30-40% left and right, anymore and much of the audience will miss something. I've also had the experience of being in the middle of a crown and a hard panned Leslie was nauseating. Craig
  17. The obvious solution to me is to run the Helix into the looper then use a DI box to get a balanced feed to the mixer .
  18. You live and learn :-)
  19. Wouldn't that depend on the Duplicate PC Send Global Setting too?
  20. Yeah :-) I saw Jeff Beck the other night, he does ok with the knobs on his guitar.
  21. What's wrong with turning your guitar down? Go old school :-)
  22. I don't think that the upgrade always updated the Wait parameter correctly, I'd try saving a problem patch with a value say 100mS then save it again with 0, see if that solves it.
  23. It would act as a half wave rectifier if you fed it with AC.
