Youtube is the place to go. So many good Helix tutorials there. If you get stuck the best place for quick and really really good help is the Helix group on FB. It's one of the reasons I still use FB.

Maybe a Behringer MicroHD HD400 2-channel Hum Destroyer will help? I have one for my monitors. It's only $21 USD worth having just in case. I also have the same Laney FRFR and going to switch from XLR to 1/4" this weekend when I rewire everything. I'll let you know if I see any hum and if my Behringer works.

Do you have a desktop pc?

The factory presets for bass have names that start with BAS: but I believe there are artist presets that have different names related to the artist who created or inspired the preset so those require a bit more digging.

I did some reading about this pedal and a lot of people are saying it's very similar to the Timmy. Have you tried that with by our Helix?

What exactly do you mean by toggle off your amp? What you want to do is to disable the send/return block(s) if you're going to bypass your amp's preamp so the output of your LT going directly into the return of your amp if you're not doing this already. You can leave the 4 cables connected and do this either in a separate preset or in snapshots in a single preset. I have a picture here of a really simple preset I was working on. In one snapshot I have the Helix amp block enabled while the send and return blocks are disabled. In another snapshot I disable the amp block and enable the send/returns so the real amp is the pre and the power amp of the preset. Does this help?

There were 11 bug fixes and a bunch of updates to HX One. There's so many models in Helix as is that I'm amazed people still want more and more. Even with all the amps, pedals, cabinets, microphones, etc. out there how many truly different tones are there actually?

You can get good USB-A to B cables on Amazon. I've had a 15ft braided USB cable for a few years I use at home and never had a problem with it. It wasn't expensive at all. Otherwise yes, juat about any USB A-B cable will work. You also may need to use the Line 6 Updater program instead of updating the HX Edit, depending on what version you're currently running.

Wrap the cable once around the cylinder the long ways then wrap the cylinder with electrical tape. The wire will stop moving, you will lose only a few inches of length of the cable.

Try Full Compass? I needed replacement feet for my Powercab, opened a support ticket Line 6 gave me the part number and told me I could get it from Full Compass. Mine was a special order item, really inexpensive, three to four week lead time and it shipped in under two weeks.

What's your preset look like? Are you having problems with the distortion or the clean tone? You might try bringing the high cut on the cab way down, maybe even below 8 kHz. I was working on a preset last night that is coming along great. I took the Cali IV V30 dual cab with two 57s, one 0 degrees the other 45 and put then about 1 inch just off the center. High cut about 9.5 kHz for both, low cut about 95.

I built a preset last night using two amps and a dual cab. Snapshot 1 has one amp on, snapshot 2 turns that amp off the second amp on and changes the cab parameters, specifically mic type, distance, positions and angle. When switching between snapshots there is a delay and a gap in sound. It's very obvious when going from gain to clean sound but still noticeable switching between two different clean amps. Keeping the parameters exactly the same on the cab block is a seamless transition so the problem appears to be a delay or gab when switching the cab block parameters. I'm working on making a video showing this also going to test this with one amp using different drive settings per snapshot and different cab parameters.

How do I uninstall Spider V drivers and/or audio interface that shows up in my DAW? I don't have any of the Spider V software installed anymore, I didn't even know I still had Spider V drivers until I launched a new install of PreSonus One today. I don't have the Spider amp anymore. Thanks!

They should have just called this the Revv Purple update. I just updated tonight and replaced the Red with the Pruple in my presets using the Revv. Holee cr@p what an awesome sound and I didn't even tweak the amp yet! Looks like tomorrow is going to be a day of building new presets.

This may or may not help you but sometimes USB ports can be finicky, even though the drivers are updated. I've run into it with other devices, not with the Helix (yet!). One thing I did notice with 2.8 was that after a period of time HX Edit would lose connection to my Floor. I rearranged my officer and wound up redoing all the cabling to my PC, including the USB cord to my Helix. I moved it to a new USB port, coincidentally going from a 2.0 port to a 3.0 port. I haven't had any issues since I recabled everything including so far with 2.81. I'm not saying this is the fix but it may be worth a shot to try another USB port.

This is probably the problem, for lack of a better word. You'll have to tweak the settings to get a good sound out of your headphones. I have different setting for my headphones compared to my powered cabinet because they sound completely different. Also because i have a different guitar and different set up than what someone may have when they post a video their preset doesn't sound the same with my gear as it does with theirs. That's part of the learning curve, and I'm still learning myself. What motivates me is seeing that other people can make some amazing tones, so I just have to dial mine in. I've come up with some awesome sounding presets, just takes a bit of practice. Good luck and don't get discouraged!

If you're going to get upset when people disagree with things you post online you really need to not be online. I reacted with a downvote because I disagreed, that's the function of it.

That is exactly how large scale software and hardware deployments work. Unless Line 6 has absolute control over each device (they don't) there are innumerable variables that can cause issues. Everything from your computer to the processor or the RAM in your individual Helix. It's impossible to test out every scenario to identify bugs and many bugs are found by people using their system in a creative, non-standard manner. You should absolutely report any bug you find with as much details as possible if you want and expect Line 6 to prevent as many bugs as possible in future releases.

Possible 2.80 bug Helix Floor & Helix Edit I've seen my Helix Edit program lose connection with the Helix floor several times since the update. There doesn't seem to be any specific trigger. I've had it stay connected for hours, until I shut everything down and I've seen connection lost within 10 minutes of powering and starting up.

It's 100% inexcusable that Line 6 still has not enabled this feature for PC users. My phone is a phone, I don't want to connect it to my amp. Also that totally defeats the purpose of using the USB output to record.

Damn that tone is awesome. I think this video pretty much convinced me to buy a Helix.

Two years since this request first came out as well as the request to add to0nes to the PC editor instead of only the crappy phone app, no response from Line 6. Fair to say they don't give a crap about the Spider?
