  1. The disks are useless anyway. They are extremely obsolete. I just downloaded the latest POD Farm version, and the site is working properly. I suggest that you keep trying :) http://line6.com/software/
  2. At this point I would agree with Charlie_Watt. It sounds like it may be defective. I would bring it back to the store and get a replacement. Test the new one while you're there and make them show you how to properly operate it to eliminate the possibility of operator error.
  3. The POD Farm licenses are hard coded to the blackface series. POD Studio licenses do not transfer to other gear. If you purchased POD Farm 2 separately though, you can use it with TonePorts. Think of it this way, if your license came with POD Studio, it stays with POD Studio. If you bought it separately, it stays with your account and is transferrable to other devices.
  4. Absolutely. I have a TonePort UX2 and it works fine with POD Farm. You can download POD Farm 1.12 and use it free. It is fully functional n stand-alone mode, or for ASIO recording. You will not be able to use the plug-ins though. The plug-ins are primarily used from within your recording software to "re-amp" a recorded track If you want to use POD Farm 2.56 you will need to purchase it. That would also give you access to the POD Farm 2 plug-ins.
  5. No specific settings for the headphone. You should just be able to plug it in and it works.
  6. I voted yes, but really, it depends. I own a JTV 59, and I currently have no desire to purchase another JTV, but if I was a gigging guitarist, and making money from my profession, I would always want a spare nearby. Electronics are fickle.
  7. Oh, and have you tried plugging your guitar directly into the Fender amp? Maybe it's your guitar cord. Trouble shooting always involves narrowing down the problem by eliminating possibilities.
  8. A couple of other things I though of: Is the tuner engaged? - There's no output if the tuner is engaged. Have you tried moving the volume pedal?
  9. It's very difficult to give suggestions without seeing what your settings are and what you are doing. Might I suggest that you bring it back to the shop and have someone show you how to get it to work again? Also, have you read the manual?
  10. Have you turned the master volume control up? Yes you can use the HD500x without an attached amplifier. It's functionally a pre-amp, and does not need a speaker load.
  11. Are you getting audio out of the headphone jack? And yes, you can run the 1/4" or the headphone outputs into powered computer speakers.
  12. Line 6 makes the software available to everyone, but you have to buy a license to use it. Unfortunately, the license from your UX2 is not transferrable to iLok. The good news, is if you actually bought the license separately from your UX2, you can transfer it to your PC. You won't need the iLok.
  13. It also shows that your HD400 is not connected. You will not see the current driver install unless you have the HD400 plugged in. How are you connected? It needs to be a USB 2.0 port.
  14. Wow. Bod XTL was discontinued many years ago. I believe the best you're going to find is whatever bass amps and effects are included in the current line of HD Pods, which aren't bad, but really not a large selection. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a new bass oriented product any time soon. In the mean time though, POD Farm 2.5 offers a wide assortment of bass amps and effects, and is tailored for recording. You might want to check it out.
  15. What platform, Mac or PC? Have you tried downloading the latest software from here: http://line6.com/software/ ?
  16. Hmmm. This isn't supposed to work, but I was able to record my POD HD and my TonePort UX2 in Audacity without using ASIO. Steps: 1. Set the POD HD as the default device in the Windows Sound control panel on the "Recording" tab (not sure this is necessary, but I did it anyway) 2. In Audacity, under "Edit -> Preferences -> Devices: a) Set Interface -> Host: Windows DirectSound b) Set Playback -> Device: Primary Sound Driver c) Set Recording -> Device: Digital Audio Interface (#-Line 6 Pod HDxxx) d) Hit OK 3. Hit the blue "Pause" button and then the red "record" button - Your track should now be armed, but not recording. Audacity should also have created a new audio track for you to record in. You should see activity in the record monitoring window at the top. 4. Hit the blue "pause" button again to begin recording, and party like it's 1999. You should see sound waves in the new track as you record. 5. Hit the stop button to finish recording. Your track should be available for playback. I don't know why this works. Back in the day, Line 6 audio was only available for recording via ASIO, via SP/DIF, or by taking the analog outputs and connecting them to your PC's AUX inputs.
  17. Go here http://line6.com/account/purchasehistory and make sure your model packs are showing up in your account. They can't show up in Pod Farm unless they show up in your account. Also, if you are using the iLok version, model packs will not work.
  18. Have you opened a support ticket as Triryche suggested? http://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html
  19. You didn't by any chance purchase the iloK version? That one cannot be returned for a refund.
  20. Audacity does not include ASIO support in the downloadable version. There is a way to do it, but it needs to be recompiled, which is well beyond my personal expertise, and the scope of this post.
  21. Customer support is a lot different than adding new features to a discontinued product. You are asking for something that was not built into the HD400, nor was it advertised as being built in. You actually did get what you paid for. You can dream if you wish, but I don't see it happening. Sorry.
  22. Did you install the latest versions from http://line6.com/software, or did you use the install disk. The software on the disk is obsolete.
  23. The POD's USB doesn't really carry an analog sound signal, even though it can be used for ASIO recording. As silverhead said, you really need to attach active speakers directly to the POD. Another solution, which I personally use, is to connect the POD's analog outs to the AUX Input of my PC's sound card. There are some work arounds to use the USB ASIO audio, but there is quite a bit of latency, and most folks find the latency unworkable.
  24. Sorry AntonisPat, you're not likely to hear from Line 6 on this. The HD400 never had dotted delays, and since Line 6 had dropped development on this, it will not likely get them in the future either.
  25. Yes, I do it with my TonePort every time I upgrade OS. The disk would be obsolete anyway. You can find the latest versions of the software at http://line6.com/software/ Enjoy
