  1. Check in Line 6 License Manager and make sure that Metal Shop is authorized on your Mac.
  2. No, sorry. There isn't likely to be either. This has been asked about for many years.
  3. Put it in the effects loop, and put the loop early in the effects chain
  4. There is a lot more to a higher end guitar than just the pickups. If it were just the pickups, you could put upgrades into your current guitar and leave it at that. A higher end guitar should be about parts (including pickups), fit, finish, quality control, and playability. It tends to be an upgrade in your overall playing satisfaction as much as the sound. A higher end guitar should give you a marginal improvement in sound with POD Farm, and a quality guitar is an investment that can last you a lifetime. A new modeler is an investment that will only last a few years, until the next improvement hits the market. All that said, after buying the guitar, it wouldn't be a bad idea to save up a bit more for a POD HD, or whatever the latest model is at the time.
  5. The dreaded piezo plink!! People seem to notice it to various degrees, and supposedly, Line 6 has worked on reducing it over the years. The best advice I can give it to alter your palm muting style so that you are also muting the piezo's. Putting a damper, such as some cloth or foam, in the small section behind the piezos so that it touches the strings, seems to help a bit as well. Also try reflashing the firmware.
  6. Question1 - You can run your mic into the HD500 and run the HD500 into the L3T using Line 6 Link. Question 2 - Don't know for sure. Possibly guitar through HD500 and into L3T via L6 Link and guitar + mic into the two inputs on the L3T. Not sure if this is supported though.
  7. Did you install from the disk, or download the latest software from http://line6.com/software/ Make sure you have the latest software and drivers. You can recycle the disk for use as a coaster.
  8. The FBV ii Shortboard actually works with your PC to control POD Farm II. Remember that the UX2 is just an io device. POD Farm does the heavy lifting. There is no controller that will currently work directly with the UX2. The UX2 does have a couple of controller ports in the back, but they were for a couple of on/off switches, and do not believe that they are supported after the Gearbox software.
  9. Edgar . . . The person you bought from was not a Line 6 reseller. Line 6 cannot make this good for you. You need to take this up with Aliexpress. Sorry.
  10. I use my HD500 connected to my DT25 via Line 6 Link for Sunday worship services in full power mode. Works great, and I have good sound and feel. I generally mic it with a Shure SM57 to get sound to FoH. I don't use the DT25's XLR out, as our church has awful power and I get some hum through that connection. No hum via the amp's speaker, so I mic it.
  11. You also might consider a FBV Shortboard MkII as a footswitch & controller
  12. You'll need to either connect the UX2's headphone out to your PC's MIC/AUX input, or connect the UX2's Analog Outs to the PC's MIC/AUX input. I use the Analog Outs and it works great.
  13. Gearbox downloads are still available. go to http://line6.com/software Select "Gearbox" and -All OS- If you need an older version, you may need to check the "Archive" box
  14. Make sure you install the Line 6 UX-2 ASIO driver. Reaper will be able to pick them up and use them. When you install Reaper, make sure to point it to the directories where you have installed your VSTs.
  15. This late in the HD life cycle, I would not expect to see model packs. Hopefully they will add a few more models, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for those either.
  16. Look in the Downloads section. Select "Line 6 Edit" make sure you change OS to "-All OS-" and make sure you check the "Archived" box
  17. Click the "My Devices" link to see what else you may have authorized. You can only have 4 devices or computers licensed at a time.
  18. Working with the Monitor and Send sliders in the ASIO driver interface COULD be a possible solution, but in my experience, most users find the latency to be objectionable, UNLESS, they have a fairly powerful computer, a DAW that manages memory and processor well, and are not overly sensitive to the delay. I've seen some very time sensitive users on this forum complain about under 5 ms latency. Why try to find work arounds, when simply muting the track that the guitar is in, and listening to the guitar through the HD, which is basically "tone direct", works great?
  19. You don't want to mute the raw signal. You want it the other way around. Mute the guitar track you're recording at the daw. The latency in listening to the guitar track from the daw will throw it out of time with the rest of your tracks, as well as throw off your playing timing.
