  1. Take a look at the Line 6 M13 or the M9. They have all of the effects you mention with no amp simulations. If you would like the amp sim as well, take a look at the POD HD500x
  2. Removing the battery will not help either. Li-Ion batteries will drain even if they are not installed in a device. When the guitar is unplugged there will be no additional drain on the battery other than the normal battery "leakage"
  3. "The reinvention of the amp" was as much of a surprise to most, if not all, of the Experts, as it was to the general public. :)
  4. I really don't know why it's different. I've just seen that the cheap MIDI converters don't work with just about ANY Line 6 kit. I have the MIDISport UNO and I've never had a problem. I've used it with my POD 2.0, my DT25, and my M13 without a glitch. Creating your own patches by twiddling the knobs is actually the bet way. Best of luck. :)
  5. Many, if not all, folks seem to have problems connecting Line 6 gear to those cheapie MIDI cables. The least expensive recommended cable that works would probably be the M-Audio MIDISport UNO.
  6. Using USB to connect to your computer's speakers does produce latency. Use the 1/4" analog outputs to either directly connect to a pair of powered speakers (what I do now), or connect the 1/4" analog outputs into you PC sound cards analog or aux input. In the latter case, make sure your PC's sound card is set as the default sound device. I have used both of these methods with great results.
  7. The XT is the prior generation of Line 6 modeling. The HD has better quality modeling - more natural. That said, the XT line has the ability to simulate more amps. XT Live can only run 1 guitar at a time. Tone is in the ear of the listener. In my opinion, HD modeling is a lot better for tone. The XT is good. The HD is better. I owned one before selling it to get an X3L which I later replaced with an HD500. Never looked back :)
  8. Run Line 6 Monkey and click on the "Optionall Add Ons" tab. That will take you to License Manager
  9. License Manager is not used to authorize POD Farm 2 on iLok. Make sure your iLok is plugged in and the plug-ins are installed. No other authorization should be necessary for plug-ins with iLok. iLok will not authorize the stand-alone version though.
  10. In the "License Manager", you should NOT be clicking on the red "My Computer" link, you should see your device beneath that and click on it.
  11. In License Manager, under "Devices" you should see two items in red: My Computer POD Studio UX2 Make sure that you are clicking on "POD Studio UX2"
  12. POD Farm 1 does not need a license. POD Farm 2 does not. When you run Monkey, it should look like the attached photo. Are all of your drivers and firmware versions up to date?
  13. Do you have UX2 POD Studio, which has PF2 imbedded, or do you have UX2 TonePort with the separate PF2 software? If it is the latter than there is a limit, but that shouldn't affect the install on your UX2.
  14. TonePort does not come with a POD Farm license. That is the big difference between POD Studio and TonePort. Your Googled reference was incorrect. Sorry.
  15. Please make sure that you have registered your devices on the Line 6 web site, and that you are licensed for the version of POD Farm that you are trying to run. POD Farm and POD Farm 2 licenses are not the same.
  16. Are you licensed for the version of POD Farm that you are trying to run? There is a difference between POD Farm and POD Farm 2 licenses.
  17. The POD HD currently cannot be used as a USB input device for iPad. Sorry.
  18. I don't think it's possible to return it either. Sorry.
  19. Except you do not already have the license. The license was attached to your GX. Yes, you need to pay the $100. Sorry.
  20. There were two series of GX & UX2's. The original "TonePort" series (red faceplate) does not come with PODFarm 2 (or the POD Farm 1 plug-in for that matter). The newer POD Studio series (black face plate) came with a POD Farm license attached to its firmware. In the latter case, you cannot use the software separately from the GX. So, unless you purchased your PF2 license separately, if you have a "TonePort" you will need to purchase the PF2 license. If you HAVE purchased the PF2 license separately, make sure that you register the UX2 to your account, and then run license manager to license your UX2 for use with PF2.
  21. Crank up Line 6 Monkey and update everything. The disk that you installed from was obsolete 5 years ago. Make sure you have POD Farm running. Make sure that the input in POD Farm is set to Mic1. Make sure you have the phantom power button pushed in on the UX2. Make sure that you have the gain knob on top of the UX2 turned up.
  22. I use my Relay G50 with my Variax all the time. Yes it would be great to have wireless VDI, but it WOULD be prohibitively expensive, as you're talking about 2 way wireless, and would probably eat up two channels. I find it's really not that hard to change Variax settings on the fly without using the VDI. It just takes some planning and practice :)
  23. Keep dreaming. Sorry, ain't gonna happen. Yes, it is possible, but you are also talking about it being expensive (2 way wireless communication), and chewing up 2 precious digital channels. Remember, that Line 6 is in this to make a profit. Without a profit there is no incentive to keep making cool stuff for us to purchase. Folks have been asking for this for years now. If Line 6 thought they could manufacture this, and sell it at a price point to be profitable, I'm sure they would. As someone else pointed out in another thread on the same topic not too long ago, it's just one more thing to break during your performance! That said, if someone wants to create this magical device, and figure a way to mass produce it efficiently, I'm sure that Line 6 would pay a tidy sum for your patent. After all this time, I'm sure that the wizards at Line 6 HAVE thought about it. :)
