I'm far from an authority on the subject, since the patches that I had to translate were AC-30 based, but if I were going to remake Silver J patches on the HD, I might start with the J-800 or Plexi-Lead 100 amps and tweak from there. Good luck. Perhaps someone with more experience with those amps will chime in.

The HD500 and the UX8 use different modeling technology and very different settings. I have faced a similar problem translating my POD X3 Live settings to my HD500. The best I can tell you is to document your UX8 settings, and manually rebuild them on the HD500. Even then, because of differences in the sound engines, it will take some tweaking after the fact. I found that it was worth the effort. The HD500 sounds great!!

Multiple User Accounts On A Mac
BigChas52 replied to Chalisque's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
Precisely. He could have different user accounts on the computer, but use the same Line 6 account to authorize with. He shouldn't run out of authorizations unless he is trying to authorize the computer(s) for POD Farm use without plugging in the TonePort. -
Multiple User Accounts On A Mac

Why not just use the same Line 6 login for all users? -
I don't think your guitar cable will make a significant difference here. When I said "backing track" I was suggesting perhaps drums, as with the YouTube video. Guitar will sound very different when mixed with other instruments. There may also be some post processing, like EQ, and compression at work here as well. Recording through a sound card's analog inputs will also give a somewhat different result that recording via USB. One more thing worth mentioning. There are also mechanical factors involved. Your pick, pick attack, fingering style, muting style, pickups, guitar output volume, tone settings, are all variables in the mix that can change the sound. I wsh you luck, but there is a lot more involved in copying and recording a particular tone than just amp and effects settings.

What is your recording setup? Are you playing with a backing track? Things will sound different raw, as opposed to recorded and processed.

Can Otto Filter Be Controlled By Expression Pedal?
BigChas52 replied to norrisd007's topic in ToneCore Development Kit
Sorry, no. ToneCore pedals do not allow for external expression controllers. If you need this functionality, you might want to look at the FM4 or the M5/M9/M13 -
Yes, I believe so.

Problem With Gearbox: Is Start Always Open Screen "welcome" And ..
BigChas52 replied to aleshin's topic in GearBox (Legacy)
You also might want to try POD Farm instead. POD Farm is the next step after GearBox, and it is free. Don't get it confused with POD Farm 2, which is a paid upgrade. http://line6.com/software -
With the right i/o I can't see why it wouldm't work. No personal experience with it though.

I had the same issue until I changed that setting. Thanks for the post. I'm sure lots of others have that problem as well.

Restart, Then Pod Studio Gx Interface Disconnects?
BigChas52 replied to aehn's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Trying a different USB cable is definitly worth the effort. Last week I bought myself a high end recording software package. It came with a nice interface. I spent 48 hours trying all sorts of fixes, crashed my computer several times, and nearly lost data. The end result was, the new USB cable that they sent with the rig was bad. Oddly enough, I was getting sound through the cable via ASIO, but I couldn't control the interface or change presets via my PC. As soon as I changed the cable everything started working just fine. -
Podfarm Badly Distorting Reaper Tracks
BigChas52 replied to liccc96's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
+1 I've seen this happen with other recording programs as well, and not just when using Line 6 plug-ins. Sometimes it's due to buffers being too small. Have you tried increasing the buffer size in Reaper or in the ASIO driver? I would not change them both at once. See if either of them fixes the problem independently.
