  1. Are you using Line 6 Edit, or POD HD500X Edit. Line 6 Edit will not work. It sounds like you've installed the wrong one.
  2. Since either BlueBoard or AmpliFi would need to acknowledge the link (and neither can), it's a non-starter.
  3. I used DR Coated on my 300. It cut the plink a bit, lasted long, and sounded fine.
  4. It may be true regarding Avid's financial problems, but the most likely scenario is that the Pro Tools franchise would be sold off. PT has become an (if not the) industry standard for music production and mixing. It's not likely to go away. I've upgraded to PT 11, and I sorely miss my POD Farm plug in's. For the short term, I've replaced them with Amplitube, but in a side-by-side comparison I did a few months back. I still preferred POD Farm.
  5. X3 Pro has been discontinued for several years now. Why would you think that there would be new firmware releases for a discontinued product?
  6. Have you looked at Section 2.2 of the Spider Jam manual?
  7. See your other post. That socket is not for a Variax.
  8. Don't do it. The RJ45 on the POD XT is for a FBV Pedal Board. The Variax would plug into a XT Live, or a XT Pro, not a bean.
  9. Gearbox should be fine, but you might want to update to POD Farm 1.12 (not 2.56). How are you monitoring while recording? You'll get best results monitoring directly from the UX2. What are your audio device settings? You should be using the UX2's ASIO drivers. In Reaper's preferences panel, set the Audio Device to ASIO TonePort UX2. About 2/3 of the way down the page you'll see the ASIO configuration button, which will bring up the UX2's configuration settings. Move the ToneDirect buffer size slider to the left as far as you can without having problems with the sound. If all else fails, realign the new track after recording. It only takes a few seconds.
  10. The asterisk is just an indication that one of the parameters of the patch has been changed. It will show up even if you use the expression pedal. Not a problem. The volume change sounds like it might be due to a loose volume pot. Try parking all of the knobs at zero except for the master volume.
  11. Have you run the Line 6 License Manager? Do you have a POD Farm license?
  12. There are two versions of POD Farm. There is a "standalone" version that you can use for live play. The installer will put an icon on your desktop, and you can start it from there. The installer will also install a "plug-in" version, which is used as a VST effect in recording programs. POD Farm 1.12 standalone usage is free. The plug-in is not, and can no longer be purchased POD Farm 2.56 standalone is not free. When you purchase POD Farm 2.56, you also get the VST plug-in You can download POD Farm 1.12 here http://line6.com/software Make sure you select "All OS" in the dropdown box or you will not find it
  13. You can still use Gearbox to edit your X3 settings, but Line 6 will not be putting any more development into it.
  14. X3 patches should load on X3L just fine. Same audio engine.
  15. The X3 Live and X3 Bean sounds are the same :)
  16. Hi Clee68. Gearbox has been obsoleted. Unfortunately, there will be no more updates for it. You'll need to use the X3's onboard tuner. Sorry.
  17. As mentioned above, the X3 IS a decent audio card. Just install the drivers, plug it into your PC, attach speakers, and you're good to go :)
  18. Audacity will also change pitch. I use that one all the time.
  19. Use POD Farm 1.12 instead. It's free. You can also use Gearbox 3.72. It's free as well. There is no alternative to GPO at this time.
  20. Not sure if this will help, but you might try starting License Manager in Administrator mode. You did register the UX1 to your Line 6 account, right?
  21. Actually, the standard license comes with a bit less, as FX Junkie is included with the UX2, but not with just the standard license.
  22. +1 to what Zap said. If you have a blackface UX2, ,then the POD Farm license is attached to the UX2 and you cannot remove it without deauthorizing POD Farm
  23. Either would sound about the same. You need an adapter to go from mono 1/4" jacks to stereo 1/8" you might have to search the internet a bit, or go to a local electronics store for a solution.
  24. There are a couple of ways: 1. Plug the speakers into the pod. You can either use the headphone jack, or use the 1/4" outputs. Either way you'll need an adapter. 2. Plug connect the HD500 to your computer's AUX input. Make sure that you make your computer's sound card the default sound device. As above, you can either use the headphone jack, or the 1/4" outs. As above, you'll need an adapter. The easiest way would be to use 1/8" to 1/4" stereo adapter and use the headphone jack.
  25. You can use it for bass guitar, although there are no specific bass amplifiers. You might have some success with the "Tube PreAmp" or "Tweed Blues" models. You can use a standard 1/4" lead.
