  1. my setup is very similar. i have the pod hd pro x, mac mini, and use logic. i go from the unbalanced outs straight to the monitors works great.
  2. Park the knobs at zero except the master. This can happen with vibration.
  3. I'm not sure what that means, i would call (fastest) or open a support ticket (3 business days) http://line6.com/company/contact/
  4. no reason at all to install gearbox or pod farm 1, just install monkey, get the drivers and pod farm 2.5+ (latest) then use the license manager that installs with monkey to authorize the UX1
  5. if you have a valid license and installed pod farm 2.5+ you should have 64bit plugins for it. I can't speak directly to what license you have, but if your UX1 had a free upgrade to 2, then you can freely get 2.5+ and it should have the plugin. provided of course that the UX1 is authorized and connected. it would be the UX1 that has the license, not your user account. meaning that the hardware independent features of pod farm 2.5+ will not apply. (you have to buy a standalone license for that)
  6. yes gearbox plugin is no longer supported and does not have 64bit plugins. a free upgrade to pod farm 1 is available to gearbox plugin owners... but still does not have 64bit plugins. the paid upgrade to pod farm 2 is where you have to go to get the 64bit plugins.
  7. yes that will help you get everything. then there is a license manager component to authorize the UX1. you won't need any codes etc. just log in with your line6 account.
  8. but this is actually why i think an L6 app will eventually happen.... that is that the amplifi app does not process audio at all... all it needs to do is control the amp over bluetooth... something that pretty much any android can handle.
  9. Because firmware updates can obsolete manuals and needlessly kill trees. PDF's are free and readily available and easily updated. basically for no reason than i simply disagreed with you... meant no offense.
  10. the levels might not move... check the line6 control panel and make sure that it is set to show you what you want.
  11. yes just go here and get monkey: http://line6.com/software/
  12. Line6 pod farm 2.5x DOES have 64bit VST's either you have an old version or you overlooked it. to my knowledge they have no intention of ditching....
  13. the variax interface does not power the variax like the pod does. its just to save battery life with nothing plugged in it turns off. but you may want that 1/4" plugged in (to an amp) so you can hear the models you are creating... the workbench interface does not pass audio either!
  14. wow that's an amazing shopping list! i have the rc300 you'll love it. did you consider a variax vs the GR55? i know they do slightly different things... but there is some overlap.
  15. Yes, more "power" and improved footswitches. only differences.
  16. that's closed enough for most people... i hate having to do basic stuff via command line. i have to say separating java was a smart move, since it's not needed for most things.
  17. I hadn't really noticed if they separated java from the other apple updates. used to be alot of terminal interaction to rig a different version of Java into the mix. I do love the fact that workbench HD doesn't use java anymore... i assumed that the OP had a gen 1 variax though, meaning HD probably wasn't even an option.
  18. you do know you can limit their throw on the pedal by lowering the maximum. might take some of the screech out... but just an idea.
  19. i don't think that you'll be able to liberate the power pack even with supports help.... it's explicitly tied to the device... you can always ask.... i just don't think you'll be able to count on it.
  20. why haven't you just called already? at the very least they would whittle down the list for you and tell you what you absolutely need to do. best case scenario... they fix it all up for you and you get back to playing.... seems like a worthwhile step to me.
  21. like anything else that could possibly happen.... but i think the majority of the complaints are of ones with issue leaving the factory. if you have a good one now, in all likeliness it will remain good. unless your lawyer is murphy. :)
  22. i think the latest version may be the problem... workbench wants either 1.6 or 1.5 and the latest 1.7 may not work. in any case jandrio is correct... the issue is getting the right version of java on your mac. with mac being a closed system it's hard to get a version other than what apple wants you to have. you might need to try some apple forums for that... although its possible someone here ran into the same issue and can help you.... just might not be as quick.
