  1. Yamaha bought them, and the will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Yamaha and continue to be an independent brand... they are not being rolled into Yamaha... and support is not being impacted at all.....
  2. I have my nearly new Variax 700 acoustic for sale right now... (craigslist) may end up putting it on ebay at some point... they are fetching close to 900$ these days! my ad is for less, but i'm sure the condition of mine exceeds those on ebay... still have the plastic on the cover and the static cling quick start labels as well. and of course all the accessories/bag/etc anyway... tend to use my other acoustics for recording and don't use it as much as it deserves. no hurry to move it.. but anyone interested: http://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/msg/4343229495.html
  3. I would add that the converter is a 3rd party unsupported by line6 utility as well. super nice of someone to take the time... but for all we know it could just be renaming the file extensions. probably doing alot more.... just saying... that might not be 100% bulletproof either.
  4. sounds like a driver problem, i would change usb ports and maybe reboot as a starting point.
  5. riffworks standard likely has all the included drummers and some extras... technically the line6 version really isnt supported on any modern operating system... as it predates windows vista, and probably even leopard on the mac side... the standard version does support modern operating systems... money is always tight for sure... but i think this is a good value.
  6. no idea what that is... but there are no line6 models other than the JTV89 high gain model that can be loaded into the guitar. and technically those high gain models are already in your guitar... just adding the models allows you to save the preconfigured setting to a location on the dial. EDIT: WHO DAFUQ would hit and run this post with a negative rep? that's just silly... is it because i never heard of your hero... geez
  7. a pretty cool looking little pedal. my boss rc300 does some basic rythym stuff... but hardly little. does that qualify as my one pedal? :D that things does a TON.
  8. that is to save you DSP. you can leave the reverb out of your tone on the pod and let the amp handle it exclusively... allowing you more DSP flexibility in the pod.
  9. perhaps 12ax7's are just always reffered to as preamp tubes, as that is their typical use or reason for being. and perhaps my info only refers to what the tubes actually do. they may do those things within the confines of the preamp section. just saying it's possible we are both right to some degree. i know what we call the pre-amp from a tone perspective is the digital model.
  10. i think my theory has as much chance of being true:
  11. certainly make sure you have both the DT and the pod fully updated.
  12. The "something new" has already been announced... it's an amplifi FX100 it's got the same basic functionality as the amplifi in a footboard. no amp and it has 100 presets.
  13. I was only theorizing. No idea why he said anything. Maybe he just doesn't know.
  14. I'm sure he was referring to them in a more generic sense. (much the same way a tissue is a kleenex and a swab is a qtip) I'm 100% confident in my statement, having been told by the product manager himself in the DT beta. as an IT guy, there are times when i have to dumb it down just to get a basic concept across. you never know who you're dealing with, perhaps he gave you the dumbed down version.
  15. NO. the jack on the bean is for the footboard ONLY.
  16. nope... only cable to the amp is line6link cable thats it. no 1/4"'s needed
  17. you shouldn't see much change on the amp except maybe the pentode/triode and topology lights. but they may not move or change at all depending on what setting are in your tone.
  18. Better get you some backup tubes soon... the Russian/USA sanction war is heating up and they might get harder to come by... AKA more expensive.
  19. No news, or even official commitment that it will happen. You should not have made the purchase if this was a critical issue to you. there have been cases where announced updates have taken nearly a year to materialize. and this is as yet unannounced. I suspect that it may happen or they may even be working on it... But it would be a bad choice to buy on an eventual android app. In my opinion.
  20. highly doubtful, because otherwise there would be a way to crossflash the firmware. and there isn't to my knowledge.
  21. you don't have to plug anything in anywhere else... unless you want to for some reason. just play the track on your computer using whatever media player you normally use, or import the song into a track in your DAW.
  22. follow the links and set one up: http://line6.com/company/contact/ no ticket fairy here :) good luck with your issue.
  23. a bone would have been an attached bundle. as it is you just baited the hook. :D
  24. XT will power. you dont need a line6 branded cable. but i recommend a VDI cable. because of the protective ends. the cable itself is basically a cat5 network cable and you could use one of those short term.
  25. can't be done directly. but someone has done the work already: http://www.benvesco.com/blog/tones/2008/bass-pod-xt-presets/
