have you updated the DT25... they did fix a "boost" related configuration on the DT amps with an update... perhaps the amp wants it off and the pod wants it on or vice versa....

once again... there are no factory instructions... its not officially supported... but it works... we're just users trying to help you out... so perhaps it's the lack of a supported way to do this and lack of factory instructions that suck. i'm not really sure what part is causing you issues.. it's really easy, once you figure it out.

Line6 doesn't officially support using tones that aren't native to the system... so there are not going to be any instructions. basically you open the folder with the tones in it... select a single tone... and hold the mouse button... release over the memory location in your setlist... not in hd500x edit in general.. over where you want the tone stored. you can also change the file extensions... but that is alot more time consuming when trying to do alot of tones.

the shortboard is a dumb controller... you cant store anything on it... just plug it in to your amp to control your amp... learn your amp. all that other stuff you are reading is just information on how to use the fbv with other programs... you can use the fbv as a portal to update the amp and get tones etc... but its still basically controlling the amp... not programming the controller or anything like that.

it wont load when you click it..... you have to drag and drop. the file extensions are different for the different versions... but the data in the file is close enough that it will work. it's 100% compatible going from a 500 to a 500x not the case going from 500x to 500... but they are still very compatible depending on the contents of the tone.

they probably could.... but whats the incentive? the amps been released about 3 years ago... they are more than likely working on a new amp (amplifi anyone?) that will sell more than any upgrades on a 3 year old amp.... i'm almost certain that ala carte will never happen either... too many different use cases that would require too much testing etc. i'm just saying its not likely to happen... could it? maybe... but i'd be extremely surprised.... if your expectation is that it will happen, i suspect you'll end up extremely disappointed.

why convert at all... 500 tones will drag and drop directly into HD500x edit.

the tone is going to be different... closed cab versus open back.... that's pretty much going to be the difference.

There is not going to be any further development on the original workbench software.

the answer is you can't that's what i was telling you... try a different way to get similar results.... don't get hung up on "how"... get hung up on finding a way to make it work. if you're absolutely not flexible enough to bother.. then you will absolutely be unhappy with this setup period. you can even change amps within a preset... just save it with one amp on and one amp off and set a single FS to turn it off/on. use workbench to re-arrange the guitars on your 3way/5way and manually switch them, may also be worth pursuing if you absolutely feel the need to change guitars mid song.

as long as you stay within the same tone it's easy enough... program 1 FS to take down your compressers/eq's/stomps etc... = clean with no gap.

you can only change the settings for use on a computer... the amp is hardwired and you cannot change what the switches do.

you can get that sort of gap with any guitar just changing tones on the pod... the more things you change, the more drastic.. the more audible. never bothered me.. i mean who, in real life (existing outside of this great technology), changes entire rigs mid song? i mean maybe an acoustic intro to some electric playing... but that can probably be managed well enough if i had the need.

you need pod HD500 edit, but try a different usb port and cable, because monkey should recognize it regardless.

No, at the current time an iOS device is the only means of editing the amplifi. it does have a "future use" usb connection and possibly who knows what platform apps in development.... but the answer for now is NO.

there is no such update. 1.2 is the latest on HD500x. nearly all the updates since release have to do with L6LINK anyway... so the sounds and features of it by itself would be the same. having said that, I'm not certain what firmware it will ship with... i'm merely stating that I don't think it would be noticeable unless you are using a DT amp or stagesource speaker setup.

once you make your choices they are sticky... then you just use it like a regular amp...

pod xt out... into the effects return on the marshall.. you may have to plug a jack into the guitar input on the front to make the amp output sound.

yes it will work to control the amp. HOWEVER, you would need an MKII version to update or edit from a computer.

I'm sure that they will fix those being produced and based on their findings, offer repair or replacement as appropriate for existing owners. They've made good in this manner on other products in the past (x3 footswitches, x3 usb, for example) I'm sure that Tony will be happy to reassure you and make any clarifications or corrections to my statement when he sees your post.

as near as i know gearbox works fine on 10.9, what device are you trying to use? if you are trying to use the gearbox plugin, that is long ago unsupported, you'll need to use pod farm instead.
