  1. the tone knob on the acoustic models is sort of a microphone placement/low pass filter kind of thing already, have you messed with that?
  2. I'm not going to get into a member measuring contest with you... you need to quit assuming that noone here knows anything.... (we all have our strengths etc... and i have a resume as well...) ok... so you don't have SPDIF.... guess what... i think you've identified a need for it.
  3. yeah not subjective if your discussing the technical aspect... but fully subjective if you are discussing the proceeds... AKA tone created....
  4. well... the HD Pro and HD PRO X both have direct analogue out.... but most audio engineers have a SPDIF input somewhere, or else it's worthwhile to get one... that and you can use an ABY switch at the input if you need to.... using the USB out of a pod as the sole interface doesn't seem very audio engineer like to me... especially if you plan on giving it so little thought. if analog dry over usb was a concern/factor in some decision... the answer is No... so why beat up others on the forum... clear as a bell...no gray area.
  5. i'll concede this.... but it does not matter what the technical resolution is.... only that i can make it sound better.... and that does not contradict what i was saying at all... i know guys that can make a squier strat sound better than i can make a 50,000$ custom shop Gibson sound... sometimes its not the tools... it's the person using them.
  6. to further the point... the cabs are probably at the highest resolution that they can be at now to reasonably maintain DSP for other parts of the sound... meaning your higher resolution IR's would either need dumbed down... to the point of being the same resolution... or you'd only be able to run an IR and a noisegate before running out of DSP :D
  7. conclusion: this amp was never meant to meet your needs. hope you get yourself something that works, good luck.
  8. do you really think that someone listening to the tune cares about the resolution? not so much... whats it sound like? that's what matters. not to mention once a track is mixed and mastered etc... the resolution will be blended and for the most part lost... about like asking for the eggs back after you've already baked the cake.... it's now part of the cake. does it matter that the cake has more cholesterol? or is the cake simply delicious?
  9. the fact that the user tried so many things... i think he had a bad amp, more so than a bad interface.... i've had reasonable success with the UNO, and the common cheap interface as well. the UNO does more things more reliably and has a more robust and musician targeted driver package... that's a fact... doesn't mean that the basic functionality of the cheaper one will never work... just when doing stuff like sysex updates and firmware updates i wouldn't want to risk relying on the cheaper one. in some instances its not simply a matter of pushing the data bits forward... it's timing, formatting, synchronization, etc the types of things that a driver can affect... how much time do you think microsoft invested in their default midi driver? and in what context? was it just the most basic of midi playback and recording? do you think they bothered testing any outboard hardware? the answers are pretty obvious... but the basic midi spec that they surely followed covers alot of ground... and it does work for some of those things... just good to have these thoughts and temper your expectations.
  10. that's a pretty bold assumption... i wouldn't count it out yet... i suspect that they had other internal reports on this and simply didn't work from the ideascale submission... a good chance it's been addressed....
  11. unless something has changed, I'm reasonably confident that this will not happen with the current pods. so probably an idea better suited for future models... in other words you'll probably die bitterly disappointed if you're waiting for this to happen on any current pod.
  12. I'm always surprised by how people so fervently promote IR's etc.... i mean options are nice... I just don't see this being a strong selling/buying point for but a few people.... of course it'd be a huge increase in sales for people selling IR's... but for me... Yawn.... many others disagree including at least one other expert... but i could take it or leave it... especially with the deep edit parameters on the cabs.
  13. yeah, that's the line stated: •Bridge and Middle pickups are now combined correctly It's fixed... some didn't like the new strat even fixed though.... but it is 100% confirmed as modeled and intended by Line6.
  14. Silliest thing I've ever heard. Who in their right mind would tone match songs at a gig. Do that at rehearsal and you won't need the internet.
  15. Downloading the firmware file will do that because it has no file association. After downloading open monkey select jtv and flash from file.

  17. no, but you may have to reinstall, as you possibly did not install the VST components last time since you only needed the RTAS
  18. I am trying to encourage, people to get along nicely... the point of my posting at all was to say that not every post should be taken so personally. I do alot more on these forums than are visible to the general public... including pursuing resolution for issues such as these with those who work for Line6. The experts in many ways work as a filter for Line6 to help them better manage their resources internally (my perspective, not an official stance of Line6) Anyway... many of us are aware of your issue and have discussed things with those that can help you... they are diligently looking for a permanent and effective fix for speakers already produced and for future production. unfortunately this takes some time... no point in slapping a band aid on it, they want a real, effective, and final fix. this will make the ultimate resolution to your issue far more worthwhile... but will require patience unfortunately. there is no one in this thread or on the forums in general that wants anything less than for your speakers to be fixed... keep that in mind. some may have been slow to acknowledge the validity of your issue, because they do not have the issue.... now that it's officially acknowledged, i think we can forgive any misunderstandings and allow Line6 to pursue a resolution.
  19. there is nothing wrong with others adding perspective to the thread... obviously its a big deal to you, and i think we get it... but it's also clear from other posts that the issue does not affect 100% of speakers sold. and that's perhaps an important distinction for some.. .and having posters come in and add that to the mix is not forbidden... by anyone... you or line6. lighten up... you've clearly been heard if you have execs calling you.... you really need to direct your focus towards the support team and anyone else at line6 that has provided you with contact information.... this is a community discussion forum... and the community is free to discuss... they are not simply free to agree with you or go away... as you seem to suggest.
  20. that filesystem is just the most compatible... even used by the new line6 mixer released last year and countless other devices... i think it's a mix between compatibility and licensing (as in i think that filesystem FAT is free to use)
  21. yup! that's a confirmed dual tone... so it just wont work on the XT.
