  1. make sure you do not select an operating system... or leave it at all.. sometimes it may filter options based on your selection....
  2. there's a good chance you will need a windows or an intel mac machine to make it work. the vxf file is the binary image file... however there are no JTV drivers for the PPC mac, and even an older version of monkey is not likely to flash from the file. if you can put the monkey exe and the variax flash file on a thumb drive, you could probably use your offline machine.
  3. there is no humiliation there. It was simply a reminder of the rules that apply to all users. You've asked me via PM, to not PM you anymore, which i can produce if Tony would care to see.
  4. If you've submitted a support ticket, you will surely be notified as soon as they have a path forward. they will surely announce it here as well, but if everything is registered on the site and you have a support ticket you'll likely hear via email.
  5. the m9 has presets that you can recall with midi that will change the entire effects chain. and i know other users make changes via midi... i don't use that setup, so i have no details to provide... but i do believe that what you are asking is possible.
  6. that and you can change the pot resistance... it's actually as adjustable as it needs to be for most "standard" style guitars.
  7. it wasn't a mistake... the architecture of the newer models required the space, and honestly many users never even realized that the feature existed. the HD model could not exist with that in place.
  8. hold the left direction while plugging in, this should make the logo loop stop. it resets your global settings, so you may need to review those after doing it.
  9. the factory model option was removed when the new acoustics were introduced, you have to go back to i think 1.81 or an earlier 1.7x to get that functionality.
  10. the power supply is new... but is it the correct one? it needs to be AC power not DC, so if you bought a typical 9v power supply it may be wrong. the correct one is a line6 PX2
  11. timing takes some practice sometimes on the pod looper, it's not quantized or synced to tempo and can be finicky.
  12. actually, i only said that we weren't running the forums... and whatever moderation we do is reviewed. I can't speak precisely about the other instance, but we didn't always have moderation capabilities.
  13. the topology/voicing/negative feedback loop is explained on the DT50 FAQ: http://line6.com/dt50/faq.html so you'll know what they do... i tend to roll with whichever one does it for me tonally.
  14. True, but that particular ability is a matter of the apple software delivery system and how it's setup. no idea why they couldn't have a simple de-publish button that would revert to the last approved version...
  15. i recommend calling: http://line6.com/company/contact/ any info you get on here may not be as accurate as you'd like... meaning that the fuses can vary by your region of the world and what you are feeding into your amp.
  16. they decoupled the reverb to a degree with the pod/dt combo... in part to give you more available DSP on the pod... because you can do that entirely on the DT. just FYI though... all the models in the pod etc... are based on specific cabs... there is no model that has a "no cab" default... if you like what you're hearing... great.... but if you're AC30 doesn't sound like an AC30... that's probably why (or whatever model....) the topology will matter... although its not really topology in that instance anymore (topology is basically standalone terminology) when used with the pod pre's it's basically how you want the REAL power amp to work... (when using the pre's the power amp is NOT modeled) switch to the various default pre's in a blank patch and watch the topo light change... you'll notice that certain amp tones are built on certain power amp configurations.... you can stick with the defaults or change it to build a custom tone.
  17. I think he's likely responding directly to the original poster... i was a little lost at first too.
  18. no, auto doesn't determine anything... the pod accepts a wide range of inputs.... all auto does is determine whether or not you want the impedance to change to match the modeled effect first in the chain. you can change this to match your tonal preference... i was just adding some Pod knowledge to the discussion, i'm not familiar with your particular application, or what your research is telling you otherwise. sounds like you're putting in the effort so go by what you find.
  19. you don't have to set anything on a pod HD, those input setting just affect the effects chain... in other words it can accept your input... the input z setting only effects the modeled input of the first effect in the chain... you can change the settings based on preference... or simply leave it on auto and the 1st effect in the chain will determine the input z based on how the original model would have.
  20. Yes between the FBV and the pod itself you can control everything. everything you want on the floorboard will be there including the looper... you cannot edit your tones on the floorboard though... you would need to do that directly on the pod. (which is why i elaborated on the response a little... because technically not ALL... but everything you'd likely want on the floor.)
  21. depends on how you got it... go here: http://line6.com/account/purchasehistory/ select details on the pod farm purchase, and you should see a "gift" link. the depends part... is that you can't gift it if you bought it on sale or it was a promotional or comp offer.... meaning you can only gift if you bought it full price from the store.
  22. he did... scroll up to post #7
  23. there is no upgrade other than the platinum upgrade... the pricing for that and all other options are here: http://line6.com/store/downloads/podfarm
  24. if you paid for any model packs, or paid for a 2.0+ pod farm upgrade, then support will certainly help you regain use of those... i have no doubt. they have not ran any promo's like that since release, but every once in a while i see a free pod farm 2 license for taking a survey or something similar.
  25. actually... if you paid for the pod farm 2.0 upgrade., then 2.5 should be free.... and along with it, hardware independence. i'm certain that support would help you with that if needed.... but you have to install 2.5+ for that feature. the factory included licenses can never be disassociated with the hardware... is not possible. but somewhere between back then and now, they've associated purchased licenses (like the one you purchased) to the user account and can now even be used on multiple devices/computers (and couldnt be before) not sure that "poorly manufactured" hardware is anywhere close to a factor, when the hardware was sold....
