Signal routing (POD USB + multiple cards)
TheRealZap replied to Harmont's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
the pod will become your soundcard and can play all the songs from your computer including cubase etc... using multiple cards isn't practical or needed. -
there is no pod equivalent.. you need to get the boss pedal, a variax, or an acoustic... to get an acoustic sound.

Blue Screen when trying to change buffer size
TheRealZap replied to The_stillborn's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
you probably have something else on your computer disturbing the audio stream, have you tried running dpc latency checker on it... you can run that and watch your task manager and you might see what is the problem. -
Blue Screen when trying to change buffer size
TheRealZap replied to The_stillborn's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
many things get missed when updating drivers... first try to avoid using a usb 3.0 port... using a 2.0 port is generally more stable... second google and run slimdrivers, it should help you find any missed driver updates. -
pod hd desktop as audio interface(daws, latency questions)
TheRealZap replied to lalka_ebasos's topic in POD HD
that's your computer processing the software. I've recorded using plugins (which is even higher latency than standalone software) etc... sometimes it's noticeable, but generally workable. you cannot eliminate latency completely in any interface... you should be getting better numbers than what you're seeing... BUT... that's a bold statement because the biggest variable is your computer of which i know nothing about... and even if i did... it's not always the fastest cpu, memory, hard drives etc... sometimes it's chipset and more obscure hadware factors that play into it. if you machine is a laptop for example.... it could have an "energy efficient" hard drive (to prolong battery life) but that equates to slow performance etc.... which would manifest itself poorly when recording audio. -
I have no sound coming from my speakers. Help?
TheRealZap replied to dewight60's topic in Mobile Keys
You need a daw and a VSTI plugin. There are no sounds in the keyboard it's just a controller. -

Experts are just long term experienced users. The link he provided had loads of great info... So perhaps not what you want... But still good and still potentially helpful to others. This is not your topic even so others may have already got what they needed. If you want to engage line6 support open a support ticket or call. There is a contact us link at the bottom of every page. -
Look into the tascam us1800 way cheaper. 16 inputs. For like 2-300$

JTV 1/4" outputs - buffer question
TheRealZap replied to ColonelForbin's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
speculating... but i think they are referencing a possible A/D/A conversion that would take place to send the mags out the digital output. -
yes the converter (unsupported) will work on those files i've used it many times.

Might be considering a replacement 600 neck?
TheRealZap replied to clay-man's topic in Variax Guitars / Bass / Workbench
a refret is likely in the area of a couple hundred bucks.... you could probably source a used 300 for around that and get a neck and a backup set of electronics... or a transplant starter set :D there's probably a few guys around these parts that made transplants and have necks laying around though.. -
Riffworks Clusterf**** Help Please
TheRealZap replied to guit89lo's topic in RiffWorks Line 6 Edition (Legacy)
riffworks line6 edition is not supported on any modern operating system... riffworks makes a crossgrade available so that you get a huge discount on the standard version of riffworks that is compatible with modern operating systems: http://www.sonomawireworks.com/guide/index.php/Riffworks_Crossgrade they have a free version as well that you can save with.... http://www.sonomawireworks.com/T4/ I don't believe that riffworks line6 edition was ever included for FREE with an x3.... and therefore... never part of the deal.... meaning if you had a more functional version... you likely paid extra for that. -
any decent audio interface will use ASIO drivers... this requires that the same interface be used for input and output to control latency... what you are asking is to use a separate interface for the output.. the built in audio/built in speakers from your computer... there are "trick ways" you can do that... but the latency is usually extremely noticeable and the results not very usable.... the interface will play all your computer sounds and your guitar sounds... (it becomes your soundcard) so using that headphone jack does what you want... my advice... find a way to use it as intended you'll be much happier with the results when jamming or recording...
