  1. I've asked them to look into this again. FWIW.
  2. you can do what you want, they connect via bluetooth for control.
  3. http://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=9382.msg67536
  4. not all expression pedals are created equally and none are really supported except the Line6 EX1 having said that.. others will work... but the potentiometer internally is what you would concern yourself with... i believe it needs to be 10k
  5. I'm sure it would work, but i have to tell you... logic pro x, is worth it... it's so easy and has all the power you're likely to need.
  6. the expression pedal doesn't automatically work on every preset... its possible you simply changed to a preset that is not setup to use the pedal.... or perhaps you've updated the pod and need to calibrate it?
  7. Stick to your guns. i've only ever done this once.... and it was just because i really wanted to play the Roxy on the sunset strip... about broke even, yay me! haha
  8. just use hd500x edit and save bundle, should be an option in one of the pulldown menus.
  9. yes, i would recommend the same. a pain since you want to play... but you'll be much happier long term.
  10. The xt live is the lowest model that has a variax connection. They can usually be found in a similar price to the interface itself. None of the desktop models have a variax interface.
  11. if the device can handle ios7 then the app will work... so yes a 4 or 4s would work. as well as some newer ipod touch devices. the ipad mini even knew though is somewhat reasonably priced compared to the other options... and you can save a few bucks used if you wanted to.
  12. have you tried a different usb port? i've seen a few rare cases where it only ever updated when the port was changed... like it holds that driver because it's in use... at least that appeared to be the case.
  13. the pod xt live. it's not unheard of that those workbench usb interfaces are bad, not super common... but it does happen.
  14. I had the longboard.... and it's a HUGE monster... even if they still made it and i wanted 2 expression pedals... i'd get the shortboard at the EX1... just a bit more compact... and not just the length.. the longboard is all around bulkier... could be more durable etc... but the shortboard is made well enough for my needs. the EX1, is alot better than you'd think being simple and plastic, its pretty sturdy.
  15. you generally can't assign anything or change anything with the FBV pedals... so in the most general and safe answer no... but... being not officially supported and the ability to assign midi to switches in the hd pro and pro x.... it's a possibly maybe... but don't be too mad if it doesn't work :D also know that there is an external pedal port on the shortboard and you can add an additional pedal (EX1) to the shortboard... but yes... both pedals will work on the longboard.
  16. we're all just users here... not familiar with the code or their payment specifics... might open a ticket or give them a call: http://line6.com/company/contact/
  17. I no longer have the older variax or the older setup... pretty sure that the original workbench worked on either java5 or 6 though... not the latest. (although it *should* of course work...)
  18. I'm not sure why it's that way... I've just seen others post similar frustration.... unfortunately for now at least, that's the way it is.
  19. there is no fix and it's not broken... the only midi option they've chosen to make available is the toggle that you've discovered. if you want it to work another way make the suggestion here: http://line6.ideascale.com/
  20. I've done so many times in the past... but not on a modern operating system... not sure what operating system you are trying to use.... i would also try uninstalling all workbench software and JAVA software.... reinstall workbench and allow it to install its desired version of JAVA... the program works on JAVA and a newer version may have changed things.
  21. I agree with pretty much all the suggestions, you can get it setup, either have the nut replaced, or have a luthier take the strings out add a few dabs of super glue where needed and then file to the correct height.... although i dont think you should desperately need a setup out of the box like this... i would recommend a proper setup with any new guitar.... honestly if you like everything else about the guitar... i'd get the setup.
  22. you can still get it... just download and use the files.. its a glitch on the site.
  23. sounds like you need the truss rod adjusted... too much relief... i'd recommend a full setup, because you'll probably have to adjust the saddles and intonation afterwards as well.
