  1. I'm on a similar path experimenting with stereo. I might not have thought to hard pan at the merge/mixer had you not mentioned that. Yes, that was a worthwhile exercise.
  2. And if there is still any doubt, setup an identical Preset with the same 70s chorus, only mono. Put a looper at the beginning of both, play some simple chords, and playback. Switch between the stereo Preset and the mono Preset while the loop is playing. The difference is dramatic.
  3. In addition, I can see on my mixer meters that the two channel levels are fluctuating independently. Yes, true stereo.
  4. Interesting question. I tested this and it is doing exactly as you would expect. If you go back to your merge mixer and drop the levels on each of the paths, one at a time, you will see that you only get sound out of one side of the stereo. It it had been summed to mono you would get sound out of both sides regardless. Does that make sense?
  5. Your bass guitar has passive electronics. Which input on the Helix are you using?
  6. I am not particularly familiar with the H&K, but, I believe your amp has a "learn" button for MIDI programming. Is this true? If so, it is very much like a Marshall JVM in that respect. Here is a link to a programming guide for the JVM that might help. http://line6.com/support/topic/28901-marshall-jvm-channel-switching-with-helix-midi/
  7. How many amps do you want to use?
  8. You know where you put the commands in the first Preset? Command Center > Instants Go to the second Preset and put the same messages in the same place.
  9. You have to send the message with each change of Presets. So you have to set the message in the second Preset like it is set in the first Preset.
  10. Just to clarify, are you saying that turning on the Helix' internal phantom power for the Mic input may have caused the Mic input, on your Helix, to be damaged when you plugged a dynamic mic into it? Did you ask L6 support if this was possible?
  11. The best place to start is here. http://line6.com/support/manuals/helixlt
  12. I'm looking forward to hearing the results.
  13. They seem like nice units. I would think they have a big sound. They appear to get a lot of love. No direct experience with them. I prefer the form factor of a more traditional PA speaker that can be placed on the floor, either upright or as a wedge or on a pole. And I use the same speaker that I use in my PA, so, I have some backup. Also I know what I hear is the same thing that the PA is projecting. In the end, I think it is a very personal choice.
  14. Edit: The Looper does not mute in Tuner mode. Weird.
  15. I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but, if you copy and paste a block, all of the settings go with it.
  16. I used a momentary Stomp, for leads, on a couple of songs, at rehearsal tonight. Worked great. Thanks, OP, for an awesome idea.
  17. It's pretty simple the way it works. On the Tuner screen: The "Input" menu is where the tuner will receive it's input signal from. The "Output" menu is where the tuner will send it's output signal to. All other inputs/outputs, except the looper, are muted when you are in the tuner mode (on the tuner screen), including the Mic input/output. I'm not saying that's the ideal way we would want it to work. For example, if I kick on the tuner, and my Mic is going through my Helix, I should still be able to talk to the audience while I'm tuning. Which, I think was the OP's goal.
  18. You can't turn off mute while tuning, but, you can send the Tuner output to any or all Helix outputs.
  19. I just checked and all outputs, except any you have selected in the Outputs (in Tuner mode screen), are muted in the Tuner mode. But, even if you select XLR output in the Tuner screen, that just means the guitar will be sent to the XLR outputs. The Mic will still be muted. Not having the Mic mute, while tuning your guitar, makes perfect sense. Sounds like a great idea for IdeaScale. Hearing your guitar while you are tuning makes no sense.
  20. You want to hear your guitar while your tuning?
  21. I'm shopping for a UPS also after seeing these couple of threads.
  22. I recently saw a thread where someone was having problems with their Helix freezing. This was at a gig. It did not happen at rehearsal. I don't know if he lost sound. Sounds somewhat similar. I'm wondering if it is a problem with dirty power.
  23. Sure, you can do that. It works because it's digital.
