You could use one of the effects loops Returns, instead, if you have a spare.
-
One other thought. You should not be using any Helix Amp or Cab models if you are running into the front of the Kemper.
-
In both cases you'll want the output set to Instrument Level.
-
Yes, this is true for the physical connections, but, as DanishMic posted, you'll want to use Helix Amp and Cab models or IRs instead of Cab models in your Presets.

I'm not sure I understand the logic of using the JDX when the Helix already does what the JDX does, and so much more. Why not go straight to the mixer from the Helix?

Have you tried the Ground Lift switch on the Helix?
-
All great stuff from @PeterHamm. The only things I might add is keep the DXR up off of the floor or, at the very least, set the DSP switch on the DXR to monitor, so you are not EQing for the boominess that you tend to get with speakers/monitors sitting on the floor. Also, playing at home with backing tracks or recordings will give you a sense of being in a band mix and can help you with your EQing. A high/low cut block after your amp/cab can help you carve out your space in the mix.
-
When using the single delay block, like you were originally, you might also try changing the "Tap Tempo Pitch" setting in Global Settings > Preferences from "Authentic" to "Transparent".
-
I haven't tried it. For me and my old analog board, it was an EP Pre. For me, right now, with the Helix, it's the Opti-Trem. I'm hoping for an EP Pre in a future Helix update.

I just checked mine with a iPhone earbuds with an adapter. I can barely hear my guitar with the volume cranked. And it is badly distorted. I suspect it is the headphones.
-
I don't see an indentation for the pedal, so, I'm not understanding that part.

Switches and Pedal should be facing the pockets, right?

For Stomps, choose/highlight the Stomp you want to un-assign, then, Menu > Bypass Assign > Switch = None For Snapshots, choose/highlight the block you want to un-assign from the Snapshot, then, Menu > Bypass Assign > Switch = None
-
This is mostly true, except, you can have the momentary footswitch in the Snap/Stomp mode or the Preset/Stomp mode, but it will be on the same row as the other Stomps.

I have the Helix Floor, so, my answers/observations are in that context. As far as I know, the LT is functionally the same. 1. You can't use a footswitch to toggle between Snapshots, if Snapshots is what you mean by Scenes. One footswitch for one Snapshot, another footswitch for another Snapshot, and so on, up to eight Snapshots. 2. You can easily have a Chorus, or any other pedal, or any group of pedals, or any parameter, or any group of parameters, activate momentarily with a footswitch. Simply make the footswitch "momentary" rather than latching. Menu > Bypass Assign 3. I have my board setup for eight Snapshots. To choose another Preset, press bank up or bank down. Then select the desired Preset.

If you are talking about the expression pedal on the Helix, I haven't tried it myself, but, it is my understanding that if you loosen the friction bolt the pedal will return to heel down.

Test outlets for proper ground and make sure the various devices are plugged into outlets that are on the same circuit. Devices plugged into different outlets on different circuits can cause that.
-
You can map an external pedal to where ever you want. Why wouldn't the volume pedal work between your guitar and the Helix?

Using Helix LT expression pedal as a wah for all presets
pbatts replied to lespaul0338's topic in Helix
If you insert a Wah block into your chain, that is exactly how it will work. On and off. -
Yes, you can do that. You can add a volume pedal anywhere in the chain. Or use it to control the output level of an output block.
-
You don't have to do anything assignments. The volume is automatically assigned to EXP2 and the Wah is automatically assigned to EXP1. Just click the expression pedal toe switch (push down hard on toe down position) to switch between the two.
