I hope this helps. http://line6.com/support/topic/28901-marshall-jvm-channel-switching-with-helix-midi/

Interesting approach. I had not heard this before.

You might want to wait a week and checkout the new Line 6 products being announced at NAMM.

And here is some info on the MIDI switching with the JVM. http://line6.com/support/topic/28901-marshall-jvm-channel-switching-with-helix-midi/

I have mine on the floor next to Helix. Short jumper to guitar in. I have a micro usb mag connector for the receiver power.
-
You can use as many pedals as you want, but, the Helix Floor only has four effects loops.
-
Yes. Easily done.

Did you have everything working properly with version 2.21? The update does not replace the old Helix Edit app. This has to be removed manually. Are you trying to use the old Helix Edit app? Make sure you are using the new Helix Editor.

No, but, I'd like to know more. I don't have the magazine article.

Thanks, hadn't seen that.

Some folks have reported the USB Output settings not set correctly after the update. Check your USB Output settings in Globals.

Helix Floor with Mission Engineering Expression Pedals
pbatts replied to VirtualGuitars's topic in Helix
"My assumption is no since there is not an expression pedal switch input on the Helix Floor." That is correct. I bought the one with the switch, anyway. It might come in handy some time in the future. -
Did you check the User Manual? You have to push the knob when making initial adjustment if you want that adjustment to be unique to that Snapshot. You will see brackets appear around the parameter value. After that, you don't have to push the knob on any of the Snapshots. Don't forget to Save.

It hasn't been documented by L6. Found by some users.
-
Known issue. Check your USB 1/2 output settings in globals.
-
Cool.
-
I'm not sure what you mean. Snapshots and MIDI work together perfectly.

The EVH 5150III 50w head uses a "learn mode" just like the JVM does. Here is a link to programming the JVM which might help. http://line6.com/support/topic/28901-marshall-jvm-channel-switching-with-helix-midi/

Make sure you Set Helix MIDI Global Settings by going to Menu Button > Global Settings > MIDI/Tempo > MIDI PC Send (Page 2) > Off

I don't know of anything, but, that is a great idea.

If you can't turn off the phantom power coming from the mixer, you'll need to use phantom power blockers in the XLR Lines going to the mixer. Or you could use a DI box that blocks phantom power. Or you could use the 1/4" outputs to the mixer. Or you could use the 1/4" outputs to a 1/4" to XLR DI box. Phantom power coming to your Helix XLR outputs will make it sound bad.

Nice looking unit.
