  1. Cool. Thanks. It really does look like a great solution. And the price is right too.
  2. In order to use all the features, for example on a gig, does my iPad and my band member's iPads have to be connected to the internet? Or do you just sync everything ahead of time? I can't find a clear answer on the Bandhelper website.
  3. Sending MIDI from BandHelper BandHelper can send MIDI bank and program changes, song select messages and virtually any other MIDI data when you change songs, and MIDI beat clock messages when you activate a tempo button. (It can also receive start/stop, song select, program change, controller and note messages to trigger various actions, as described on the Remote Control page.) Lots of good info on the Bandhelper website. http://www.bandhelper.com/tutorials/intro_videos.html
  4. Yes, that makes perfect sense. Thanks, I'll check it out.
  5. Can you guys expand a bit on how these work? I've tried every app I can find, that will work on my Mac, and am still not happy. Can you save lyric sheets to your computer, even though Bandhelper is a subscription based service?
  6. Yes, when I say copy and paste I mean from web browser or even chord/lyric sheets that you may already have saved on your computer. The Open Song App is free. That would be a good one to try first. Any songs that you save or create in that app can be moved to another app later if you decide to try a different app.
  7. All of the apps, for the most part, work the same way. Some have more bells and whistles than others. To import chord/lyric sheets all you do is copy and paste what you want into the app. You can copy chord/lyric sheets from anywhere you can find them and paste them into the app.
  8. Year old post, I know, but no Controller Assignment needed, just use onboard Edit mode to scroll through IRs loaded into Helix.
  9. 1. Try factory reset 2. Is a known issue that is supposed to be fixed on the next firmware update.
  10. As far as Presets, the important things to remember is, amps and cabs are mono. Any stereo effects placed before those will get collapsed to mono, so any effects before those only need to be mono. Effects after those can be stereo. Using a Stereo effect after the amp and cab will output stereo with the way you have your rig setup. Using a mixer for playing backing tracks is one way to do it. I have a mixer and that's the way I do it. But, you can play your backing tracks through the Helix without a mixer. Here is a couple of links to get you going with that.
  11. Yeah, I know the one. But, honestly, there has been so many discussions, on so many forums, on the subject, It's hard to fathom somebody asking the question, yet again.
  12. Something must have broke when they remodeled the forums. It has to be one of the hottest topics ever.
  13. 1) Yes. That's one parallel path (1b) for path 1 and one parallel path (2b) for path 2. 2a) Yes 2b) No, you can have separate outputs for paths a and b. You don't have to merge the paths before the output. Either way, it would not defeat the purpose of running them in parallel.
  14. I have no experience with the M series or other devices, but I've read they sound better than ever with the Helix processing. What I do know is they sound great to me.
  15. All of the legacy reverbs are stereo. I'm using, and loving some of them. Edit: Thinking any of the legacy effects are a step down is a huuuuuuge mistake and if you dismiss them as such, you are going to have a big misout.
  16. Maybe I'm missing something, but it sounds like you are describing a standard 4cm method.
  17. You could do something like this with physical jumpers in Send and Return 1 and 2 if you need stereo or just use one Send and Return for mono. This would also allow you to adjust the balance between guitar and vocals.
  18. You don't really need to merge them. Just add another reverb for the vocals and set the same output for both. Edit: whoops didn't see the looper on path A
  19. You'll want to use Snapshots (you can have up to four) within a single Preset rather than using three different Presets.
  20. The coupon worked for me for the full price version but not the $99 version.
  21. I'm pretty sure the switching on all JVMs are the same. From the JVM HJS Handbook: On reception of a MIDI program change command the amplifi er stores the current status (Channel + FX + Noise Gate + Master Settings) in the MIDI program number received. PC (program change) messages work because you are toggling settings off and on. CC messages won't work because the JVM can't remember level settings.
