Is it always getting stuck on the one preset? If that’s the case, you can probably just delete that preset. Have you done a factory reset since doing the update?

I don’t think additional features in the way of effects, amps or cabs were ever in the cards for the Firehawk. It was kind of a “best of” of the XT and HD modeling, and neither of those lines have had modeled added since 2015 (when the HD model packs were released). Not every product is going to get updates the way the Helix/HX line has. That shouldn’t be a shock to people. I don’t suspect the Catalyst line is going to get updated nearly as much as the Helix has. I don’t know what’s planned with it, but I think people should temper their expectations for a $500 amp.

I think Line 6 is gun-shy on Bluetooth based on their experience with the AMPLIFi and Firehawk lines. The fact of the matter is that Bluetooth can be flaky, and the support can be a pain. I don’t think they’ll be adding Bluetooth support given the fact they don’t have it at launch.

You know they actually did update the Firehawk app since the time this thread was created… I guess you decided you diversify your crap-posting today…

Any of the tremolo models that have a square wave setting will give you a sharp on/off like you’re talking about. And, no, other than a few rare exceptions, they don’t include effects in the amp model even if the modeled amp has them.

If you export a preset without saving it to the POD Go first, what will be exported is the preset as it is saved on the hardware itself. This is the expected behavior. Gearbox and POD Go Edit work differently in that Gearbox stores everything on the computer and then syncs back to the hardware. POD Go Edit is a remote control, and everything is stored on the hardware itself and is synced in real-time. So I think that’s why the export behavior is different. As far as the italicized name thing, I’ll have to check that out. If it’s not doing that, that seems like a bug.

Well, the connection itself is more than just the actual jack, of course. It involves running power and data for that connection… Not to mention dealing with the additional programming and support side of things. A few years Eric estimated the VDI connection adds about $50 to the cost of hardware. And that’s probably gone up now. Variax users would probably say that extra $50 is worth it, but you also have the vast majority of the market who aren’t Variax owners who aren’t getting any extra functionality for that premium. And this is a highly competitive segment of the market. I think for the higher priced items like the Helix and Helix LT, the cost isn’t as noticeable, and those products have more features than any one person can use at the same time, that people don’t think of the cost/value proposition in the same way.

No one here is going to have a schematic. Even if they did, I doubt that’s repairable. How did that happen?

HX Edit or Line 6 Updater? Do you have an SD card reader with an SD card inserted in it on your computers? If so, try removing it.
-
Did you update POD Go Edit before updating the firmware? I imagine you might be running an older version.

Most likely the person who created the tone you downloaded was using a guitar with pickups that aren’t as hot as yours. You may want to try to setting the Stomp’s input to line level under Global Settings>In/Outs if you feel your pickups are hitting the modeling too hot.

Most DAWs have a command that lets you increase the waveform without actually affecting the audio. In Reaper, for example, there’s a function called “Increase Peaks View Gain” that will increase the visual amplitude of all the waveforms… It’s really helpful for editing quieter tracks.

What footswitch are you using?
-
I'd be willing to bet money that this is the case.
-
Hmmm… It should load to the preset that was active when you powered it off. When/if you updated the firmware, did you do the factory reset and restore from backup? If not, I’d do that, because something seems amiss.

It looks like you’re trying to use the wah pedal as an expression pedal - that’s not going to work. You can use the wah pedal in front of the XL as an actual wah pedal between your guitar and the XL’s guitar input. But if you want to have expression functionality, you’ll need to get an actual expression pedal.

You can’t send separate transmitter to separate outputs with these systems. If you had a way to mute the input of whatever you’re plugging into, though, you could use a single receiver for both instruments, through. If you were using the Helix for both instruments, for example, this would be pretty easy to do. FWIW, the G70 and G75 systems which are no longer made had the ability to have difference scenes, and that allowed to do exactly what you’re talking about.

Do a factory reset and a Restore from Backup after doing the update.

WorkBench does not detect standard variax, help me please!

Do you have a 1/4” cable plugged into the guitar and have the volume knob turned up? -
Two main reasons, I think. This is basically meant to be simplified, two channel amp. It can be expanded to 12 presets with MIDI, but it’s not really meant to be an entire complex rig in the same way a product like the Helix or other Line 6 products are. Also, adding the VDI jack adds probably at least another $50 to the price tag… I think they were trying very hard to make these budget-friendly. And, really, the VDI jack doesn’t really expand the potential user base by very much.

Eventually, the Helix will probably show up in the Updater. Have you tried a different USB cable and/or different USB port?

Yes, there’s a very short gap. It has never really bothered me, as I guess I rarely will be in a situation where I’m letting a note or chord ring out while using the pickup selector, but I’ve read a few people who have been bothered by it.
