  1. As far as the tap tempo, you have to have the delay time or whatever other parameter you’re wanting to tie to tap tempo set to a note value for it to follow the tempo you tap in. On the hardware, just press the knob below the delay time parameter to switch from milliseconds to note values. As far as snapshots, make sure you have the Snapshots Bypass parameter for each block you want to be turned on and off with snapshots checked on (it should be on by default). If you leave the Snapshot Edit set to Recall, you don’t have to re-save the preset when changing snapshots for your settings to be remembered. It should be pretty straightforward, though, and I’m thinking perhaps there’s some step you’re missing.
  2. There isn’t a setting to change that. I believe they probably made it like that because of the MIDI capabilities the MkII has. One of the MIDI CCs is for turning the active preset on or off, so without the dimmed LED, there wouldn’t really be a way to tell what the active preset was.
  3. Not a bug. It's how it works. When set to Channel B, none of the L6 Link controls do anything. The DT follows whatever it set on the amp (or via MIDI). When set to Channel A, you can change the power amp topology, voicing and pentode/triode settings via L6 Link.
  4. If you’re clipping the Stomp’s input, yes, the input block would be turning red. So it’s more likely you’re pushing the input of the amp model too hard. I use external drive pedals with my Stomp XL, and it sounds fine. They boost the volume of the amp models in a very natural way. So it might just be the way the Orange model is reacting.
  5. Amp models, like real amps, only have so much headroom, so at some point boosting the input level just results in more saturation, and like you said, compression. I’d be surprised if the volume is actually lower, but if it’s highly compressed, it can certainly sound lower. But just to be clear, you’re talking about running physical pedals in front of the Stomp, right? If you’re really hitting the input hard, you could be clipping it. Have you tried setting the Stomp’s input to line level? Also, it sound like you’re running the Stomp in front of real amp, and running an amp model into an amp isn’t probably the best thing either… You have a lot of cascading gain going on here - kind of compression on compression. So it could be that everything is just being pushed too hard and you’re just squashing everything.
  6. I believe retailers and/or distributors often update the firmware on units they have in their stock, but they forget to do the factory reset after doing it.
  7. What is the issue you're having exactly? Workbench HD is working fine on Monterey on my M1 Mac mini. When you say it's unable to load, are you talking about the non-verified software warning you get when you try to install it? You can override that by right clicking on the file and selecting "Open".
  8. This has to do with a change in the way these commands are implemented per snapshot in the 3.15 update. You need to set each HX Snapshot command how you want it in each snapshot. See my answer here:
  9. It sounds like you didn’t do the factory reset after updating. If you do that (hold down footswitches C & D while powering up), you’ll get all the factory preset names. Be aware that doing this will overwrite and presets you may have saved, so if you have any you want to keep, you’d want to export those prior to doing the reset.
  10. You can change presets while in tuner mode, but as soon as you load the new preset, you’ll exit tuner mode.
  11. Well then definitely just use the left and right main outs.
  12. Well, if you’re lucky, it’s just a bad power supply, I guess. You’re for sure using the one that came with it ?
  13. No, the Amp Out is a mono signal. If you want to connect to two amps in stereo, you’d need to use the left and right outs. I guess you could possibly use the FX Send as an alternative. You’d have to set the Mix parameter in the FX Loop block to something less than 100 (50 would give you equal signals from the Send and going through the POD). Are you wanting to connect to the PA at the same time?
  14. There will be a firmware update pretty soon. I suspect it will be within a few weeks.
  15. It seems pretty evident that there’s an issue with the Line 6 server for these apps. I’d expect it will get taken care of tomorrow (Monday 4/25).
  16. You’re not sending any signal to the right side of Path A (the top path) after the split block. It’s looks you should be using the 1/4” Send as your connection to the DI.
  17. No, the Catalyst has a USB B port only, and those by definition are unpowered.
  18. Shouldn’t be an issue. Again, make sure the version numbers are matching on everything.
  19. You need to update HX Edit to version 3.15… Honestly, I don’t know how on earth you made it this far with 2.70. Did you update the firmware from version 2.70?
  20. Not sure what’s happening, but, please, folks, the factory reset shouldn’t be your first troubleshooting step… Did you perhaps have something connected to FX loop when setting up your tones? Did you check the inputs and outputs? It’s nearly impossible to troubleshoot after the fact.
  21. Are you signed into your Line 6 account in HX Edit?
  22. So can I ask the dumb question? Why wouldn’t you just buy the Catalyst 100 for $100 more than the 60W version? It has built-in MIDI ports, and you wouldn’t need this additional accessory to control it. The 100W version is only slightly larger than the 60W and like four pounds heavier…
  23. No. I don’t believe it’s something that can be added to the HX Effects, as the hardware just doesn’t support it.
  24. I do not work for Line 6. What did I say that’s arrogant, exactly? As I mentioned, all the Variax guitars being sold now come with the VDI adapter. Unfortunately, it seems people often don’t include them when selling the guitars, but that isn’t exactly Line 6’s fault. You’ve not really even explained your situation here. What type of Variax are you talking about? The VDI isn’t the only option to update it. Proprietary accessories are not really rare either, especially for something as specialized as the Variax.
  25. This has caused a lot of confusion, but this is related to this feature described in the 3.15 release notes: The "Next Snapshot" setting is the default setting for the HX Snapshot command. Since you can have a different setting for that command for each snapshot, you need to go into each snapshot and set it accordingly. If you had assigned these commands to footswitches prior to doing the update, all the settings from Snapshot 1 should have been copied over. But if you added them to a pre-existing preset with snapshots, the commands in each snapshot will go to this default.
