Well, ghost notes happen on real amps... It’s not really a result of modeling or tubes, per se. It’s just what happens when you start distorting a signal, to a degree. It’s worse on some amps than others. Cliff from Fractal Audio gives a good description of it here: https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/ghost-notes.126903/

So just to double-check, how are you connecting the two in both scenarios?

Yes, the FX Loop block is under the Send/Return menu. If you go to Signal Flow View on the unit, you should see it there. Blocks before it will be in front of your amp, and blocks after it will be in your amp’s loop. One thing I just noticed is that you said you also get no sound with the HX Effects just in your amp’s loop. That seems to indicate that perhaps the amp’s effect loop isn’t active. Is there a way to activate or bypass it?

Do you have the FX Loop block in the HX Effects’ signal chain?

Companies don't have unlimited resources when it comes to R&D. In an innovative company, their reach will always exceed their grasp. So it all comes down to prioritizing things. That's really why Ideascale is helpful to Line 6. It gives them a better idea of what demand is actually like for various features. With other online forums and social media, it's possible for small number of people to make a lot of noise about certain features... Sometimes that works, and sometimes it doesn't. I think people would be surprised if they actually saw the size of the teams Line 6 has working on the various product lines. They get a lot done, really. We also never know what's happening behind the scenes as far as people taking other jobs, etc. There have been a good number of Line 6 engineers poached by Apple over the years...

Well, they quite often have sales where they offer 30% off. They just had one that ended last month, I believe. I wouldn't be surprised if there's another one around Labor Day.

I don't disagree with you regarding the lack of a bulk backup procedure with the Firehawk. I'm kind of surprised they didn't add it to the app. All I can say is I think Line 6 has historically shown willingness to learn from mistakes and they're very open to customer feedback. There are sometime other factors that prevent them from going back and revisiting older projects. I don't know how much longer the Firehawk FX will be sold now that POD Go has been released. Regarding velcro, yeah, it's always been tricky with the larger pedals. With my Helix Floor, I used a combination of Velcro and Dual-Lok to attach it my Pedaltrain board. I've seen a few people do the bicycle chain thing you're talking about, too. I've always liked that the fact there's such a large DIY ethos among guitarists. It's borne out of necessity, no doubt.

Overview of available presets FBV3?
phil_m replied to mtbdhnl's topic in FBV Controllers (MKI / MKII / 3)
The FBV3 has no presets on its own. The presets you see on it depend entirely on what you're connecting it to. -
There isn't really a delete function. You can overwrite the preset you no longer want with one of the blank presets in the setlist if you like.

Global Settings>Switches/Pedals>Tap Display

Action isn’t in the Global Settings. There’s an Action button on the front of the unit.
-
The delay, or latency, occurs because the audio is being processed through your DAW and then to your speakers. If you connect your speakers directly to the POD Go, you’ll have no latency.
-
That’s correct. There is no Native discount associated with the POD Go. POD Go isn’t really a Helix product. It’s using HX modeling, but it’s not going to follow the same update trajectory.

Yes, there is another way to do it. A few updates ago, Line 6 added the "Snapshot Bypass" parameter for each block. It controls whether or not a block is turned on and off by snapshots or not. That can help here. Here are the steps: 1. Insert block as you normally would. 2. After inserting the block, hit the Action button and set the Snapshot Bypass parameter to Off (you can do this in HX Edit by right click on the block and going Snapshot Bypass in the menu that pops up). 3. Now bypass the block. 4. Hit Action again and set the Snapshot Bypass parameter back to On. 5. Turn the block back on. Now the block will be turned on only in the current snapshot. When you go to other snapshots, it will be bypassed.

As far as the clips on the G70 transmitters, I think they're OK if you don't move around a lot. I think you're much better off getting a neoprene pouch for the transmitter and securing it to your strap in the long run. I have three G70 transmitters, and I bought one of these pouches for each one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P4D8G4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 As far as the cables, I think that's just a downfall of 1/4" cables in general. After awhile, the solder joints fail even in the most expensive cables. The nice thing about the G70 transmitters is they just use a standard 1/4" cable rather than a special connector. As far as the velcro thing, I don't really agree with you there. No pedal manufacturers really make the sort of screw-based connector you're talking about. Velcro or Dual-Lok have become the industry standard for adhering pedals to boards, for better or worse. As far as backing up tones, the Firehawk and the AMPLIFi are kind of unique in Line 6's catalog in that everything is done through the app. There's not really a bulk backup feature as there is with other units. You can backup tones to "My Tones" in the app, and once they're there, they're stored in the cloud. Pretty much all of the other Line 6 multi-FX have computer editors that let you create full backups.

There isn’t an auto save feature on the POD Go like the M9, no. Generally for preset based devices, you wouldn’t want to be re-saving things on the fly a lot.
-
It’s all preference. You’ll probably notice the effect of lower impedance settings more with single coils than with humbuckers. If you use a low input Z with a fuzz pedal and single coils pickups, you’ll notice the tone starts to glassier and cleans up very nicely as you turn the guitar volume down. You don’t get that as much with humbuckers.

Yes, if you have AMP OUT set to Pre Cab/IR, it taps the signal right before the cab/IR block. So if you want all the effects in the chain, you'd have to move the cab/IR block to the end of the chain. Doing this means that any stereo effects you have will be summed to mono when they go through the cab/IR block. If you're not connected in stereo, it won't really make a difference. If you're running in stereo, yes, it would sound different. It's really not technically feasible to do it any other way, as it would require additional audio processing. All the processing power of the chip is already accounted for in the DSP calculations built into the architecture of the unit. It would really limit the overall DSP capacity of the unit.

In addition to the Global Setting mentioned above, there's a shortcut. You can simply hold FS1 and FS7 down for a few seconds to scroll to their next available function. They can be Bank Up/Dn, Preset Up/Dn or Snapshot Up/Dn.

Yes, that’s it... I just didn’t put much effort into looking for it.
-
There was a PDF I saw before that showed the response curves for the various Cable Tone settings. It’s basically a low pass filter. The longer the cable, the lower frequency setting.

What is the issue you’re having with the newer firmware?
