  1. In the Line6 Audio-MIDI control panel you have the option of what to send to your DAW. If you want to just record what you hear select "Processed". Also check out the manual if you want to learn about "re-amping".
  2. Check out the POD Farm mixer view. There are 4 sends. You can chose what to send to your DAW, Processed, Dry Input or Semi-Processed Depending on if you have POD Farm 1 or 2 it may be named slightly different. If you have the POD Farm plug-in a typical workflow is to capture wet and dry to different tracks simultaneous then add the plug-in to the dry track post processing.
  3. Downlaod and run the Monkey to make sure you have all the current drivers/updates. ***WARNING*** If you purchased it used and the seller included extra model packs, you will loose them if they were not "gifted" to you.
  4. So you purchased a Metal Shop Model Pack License? It does not come standard with the UX.
  5. You can open the Line6 Audio-MIDI control panel to configure which Inputs are sent to your DAW. Personally I would use Line In 1 and 2 if you have stereo effects. But that is an annoyance with the UX, if you do not launch POD Farm you can not monitor the sound in real-time. You will hear it if you turn on "monitoring" in your DAW but it will likely have too much latency. The best work around for stereo recordings is to create a blank dual patch in POD Farm, and you will need to select Line1 for Tone A and Line 2 for Tone B and pan hard left and right. The pan settings will save in the patch, but every time you launch POD Farm you will need to select the inputs again.
  6. If you run Monkey do you have green ticks for everything?
  7. I personally would abandon Audacity and use a DAW that supports ASIO, I popular choice is Reaper. Also, if you have a Guitar Port I wouldn't concern myself with Line In, record via USB directly. Do you also have the POD Farm plug-in? If you really, really want to use Audacity, research compiling Audacity to use ASIO drivers.
  8. I doubt there is a sysEx message for sample rate. But you can ask Line6 directly via phone or support ticket. http://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html
  9. Just to eliminate something easy, are you certain the batteries are good? If it were me I would buy brand new batteries just to be sure. Also, not sure when you purchased it, perhaps you can exchange it. btw, from my experience, consumer power supplies that output DC are way more common than those that output AV.
  10. My guess is you have the Output of the UX2 to high while the volume of the PC Speakers are too low. Try turning the speakers to ~75% or more with the UX2 Output very low and slowly increase the output.
  11. +1 to Zap Do NOT get t the i-Lok version. Get the Hardware Independent version.
  12. I thought you mentioned which monitors you had!! I re-read your post like 5 times and couldn't find it, long day!! :o Try to set the level on the monitors to ~75% (or possibly more once you get a feel for them) and keep the Master on the POD very low. Then control the volume with the POD's Master.
  13. What monitors do you have? Do other sources sound OK on your monitors? Make sure you are not turning the Master up too much on the POD HD.
  14. The description is just what comes with the factory presets. Feel free to overwrite any or all of the 128 available slots.
  15. I didn't think you came across as an a-hole, not yet anyways, but I guess there's still hope? There will always be those that suffer from self-center-lead-guitarist-egos. But in my experience the majority of the community wants to contribute and/or help, and lack of responses (from what I have seen) are either because it's a stumper (therefor the selectivity of assistance is due to lack of knowledge/experience to contribute to the post) , or it is a lazy post that begs a RTFM response. Of course that is my personal perspective, and I mainly hung out in the POD and Computer Based Recording forums. When the XT series came out, its sub-forum was ultra-super-hyperactive.
  16. No problem. Glad you got it sorted!!
  17. Reaper 64-bit should be able to automatically bridge a 32-bit plug-in. Make sure you are pointing Reaper to the correct folder. Reaper likely installed to Programs Files and POD Farm 1.12 to Program Files(x86).
  18. I can assure the amount of posts you have has nothing to do with responses. Typically when there aren't many response it is because it is a low traffic area and/or nobody that read it has any good advice to offer. But if you are distorting that easy I would try the +4dBv. As for the output level make sure to try and set it on your loudest patch. Trust your ears, if it sounds good at whatever level, go with it.
  19. Did you have Reaper re-scan for plug-ins? Did you run the License Manger? Also, the BSOD are likely caused by the USB dropout. Even when things all work fine, disconnecting the X3 while Reaper is open can cause your computer to crash.
  20. Yep. Purchased model packs are tied to your account. You can have up to 4 devices/computers authorized simultaneously with a lifetime of 10. And if you ever hit the lifetime max you can just contact Line6 via phone or support ticket.
  21. USB 2.0 can provide up to 500 mA, dependent on the power management of your mobo and other USB devices or pc hardware drawing current going. USB 3.0 can go up to 900 mA (I think). But the power still comes from the mobo's power management, with the exception of USB cards that have an extra HDD power connector. But sometimes the POD Studios don't play nice with USB 3.0, I tested my UX2 with USB 3.0 and had no issues. btw, have you tried all your USB ports and removing all other USB devices?
  22. You should be fine deauthorizing the older one. You can have up to 4 simultaneous authorizations wit ha life time of 10 total. If you ever hit the 10 limit you can just cantact Line6 via phone or support ticket.
  23. Did you try updating all your drivers as Zap suggested, especially chipsets and mobo? I had an issue where I would get crackles only when viewing Hi Def video files form my camcorder and updating my graphics card drivers fixed it.
  24. Yes. If you have Line6 compatible hardware or POD Farm 2.5 hardware independent license (not i-Lok). Big Bottom is in the Metal Shop Add-On which is $49.99.
