  1. Not sure if you are referring to the GX as the USB dongle or something else.. The POD Studio comes with a free hardware enabled license which is why the GX needs to be plugged to use all the standard PF models plus any additional packs you purchased. If you are able to use the Focusrite with PF standalone it’s likely running a trial version.
  2. If you purchase the hardware independent license you can. Or you could just set up a project in your DAW specifically for using the PF plug-in to jam with your Focusrite. Another workaround would be to get a standalone VST wrapper but I have no recommendations in that area.
  3. How are you monitoring the recorded track?
  4. That is corrected, the license is bundled with the GX You may be able to run it as a plug-in (assuming you have the POD Studio GX that comes with the plug-in license) within your DAW in real-time with both interfaces connected but using the Focusrite as the interface. Otherwise you would need to purchase the POD Farm hardware independent version. You can get the PF standard and any additional packs you purchased would be authorized.
  5. This is normal behavior. Use the Line6 ASIO driver and just play along with the mp3. If you actually want/need the mp3 in your project just import it into Reaper on its own track.
  6. When used as an USB audio interface, AMPLIFi can playback all you pc sounds.
  7. Glad you got it sorted!! Line6 recently updated their forum software and their site in general was down for a while and then glitchy, and still ironing out some bugs, so that may have been part of the issue. As long as the FW is at minimum when they added Android support (originally you could only use an iPhone and there was no PC Updater) the advice to just flash to the newest is (was??) correct.
  8. Yes. In POD Farm Mixer view you can select Line, Instrument, or Mic for Tone A & B comtrols.
  9. What's low, guitar tones, vocals, DAW playback, computer sounds, everything?
  10. Are you selecting Mic in the mixer view of POD Farm?
  11. Unless of coursee you have mags blended in wour model which can be adjusted in Workbench.
  12. What is asking for a product code?
  13. Are you able to control the AMPLIFi via BT?
  14. They have been glitchy over the weekend. Try clearing your cache.
  15. Are you selecting the Line6 ASIO drivers in Reaper?
  16. 3. Guitar Model Selector - Push in this knob (LED is lit) to access any of the 10 Variax guitar model banks or one of two user definable custom model banks. When in Variax mode the Guitar Model Selector LED will illuminate the active guitar model bank. There are actually 5 models per bank, as defined by the Selector Switch position. Press this knob again (LED is not lit) to use the magnetic pickups. Do you have the interface to connect to workbench or a Line6 device with Variax connectivity?
  17. Take off the headphones? :D Are you trying to record your voice?
  18. Not by my JTV at the moment, but maybe it turns blue when trying to save a model to a new slot.
  19. IIRC blue indicates modeling is engages and whtie indicactes alt tuning. From page 13 of the manual: Creating custom Alternate Tunings The Alternate Tuning feature of your Variax is a very powerful tool and while we’ve given you 10 common tunings to choose from on the Alternate Tuning knob we know some of you will still wish for even more, such as using this feature to replace your capo. Have no fear, we’ve got you covered. You can replace all but the MODEL and STANDARD setting on the Alternate Tuning knob with your very own creations. Here is how you do it. 1. Make sure your guitar is tuned to a standard tuning with a 440Hz reference with the Guitar Model Selector set to any 6 string guitar model. 2. Press and hold the Guitar Model Selector knob for 2.5 seconds or until the LEDs begins to blink to enter customization mode. 3. Select the position you’d like to replace on the Alternate Tuning knob. Note: If it’s already there you need to move the knob away and back so customization mode knows you want to modify a tuning. Only the Alternate Tuning LED will now flash. 4. Create new alternate tunings by playing one note at a time on each string you wish to change. Customization mode sees the 12th fret as the 0 fret (or nut). So playing a note at the 10th fret will tune that string down a whole step while playing a note at the 14th fret will tune it up a whole step from standard. Be sure to mute strings carefully as you assign tunings across the neck - any mishaps could reassign the tuning. You can also play all notes at once if you can fret them cleanly.
  20. The main advantage of the Line6 Monkey is a quick visual status of your drivers, firmware, and software. What I do not remember off hand is if you can launch the License Manager from it.
