  1. Hi, I have been observing this from the sidelines and you mentioned that you have bought an entry level Behringer U-Phoria UM2 audio interface and also downloaded a freebie copy of Cakewalk, along with the trial version of Helix Native. Now hopefully @rd2rk has guided you through the real basics of getting a guitar signal into your DAW and hopefully processing it in glorious stereo via Helix Native. Great! The one really important thing that you haven’t told us is - what are you monitoring the audio on? If you are listening on cheap computer speakers, such as those used for some gaming PC, prepare to be very, very disappointed. If you want to be assured that HX Native lives up to the “hype”, you need to be listening to it on a suitable output system, either reasonable small home studio powered monitors, or at least a decent set of studio quality headphones. Don’t fall at the first fence. Lots of people have failed to be impressed by digital audio when listening on completely unsuitable equipment. Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: There is no hype involved, I bought a Helix floor unit way back in 2015, and followed up with Native the week it was released. I use this stuff almost everyday, no complaints.
  2. From the HX Edit Pilot’s Guide page 36: ”Looper Block Options - It is possible to add a Looper type block to a preset, and view and edit several Looper block parameters within the Edit tab. However, it is not possible to toggle the Looper mode of your connected device on and off within the HX Edit application.” But, you probably realised as soon as you tried to do it, didn’t you? Hope this helps/makes sense.
  3. Well, as the list of guitar amps in the HX range currently stands at 88 with another 17 bass amps available, surely that’s enough for anyone to play around with? IME, most users have never auditioned more than just a few of their real world favourites. There are some items in there that most young people would never have heard of. Give them a whirl. Trying out a single new model everyday to find out what you can achieve would keep you occupied for the best part of 3 months. Given that there are only 4 types of guitar amplifier (tube, solid state, hybrid and modelling), I really cannot see what your idea can bring to the table that hasn’t already been covered. Nope, I can’t see this gaining any traction after 8 years of production and development of what we already have. I bought my Helix when it was first released, based on what it could do then, everything else has been a bonus, yet some folks seem to think that because they bought into the Helix system that they should be supplied with (entitled to) an endless roll call of boutique gear. Nah! Get a grip, and enjoy what you have, and then let us know when you have exhausted all the options already available in your HX Stomp. That should keep you awake at night for quite a some time. Hope this helps/makes sense (but maybe not!) Start experimenting here: https://helixhelp.com/tips-and-guides/universal/common-amp-settings
  4. Once again, above and beyond the call - salute!
  5. HI, If you are completely new to using Cakewalk there is this video describing how to install VST plug-ins. If this doesn't get you up and running there are a bunch more video episodes about Cakewalk. Hope this helps makes sense.
  6. Hi, Why? If you have already created presets in your HX Stomp, simply connect your Stomp to HX Edit and save your presets to your computer. (See the HX Exit Pilot’s Guide for more info about managing all your presets). Next time you open your DAW and insert HX Native into an audio track, you can load any, or, all your presets from your computer, by simply dragging and dropping them in from HX Edit or elsewhere on your computer. To save me from more typing, see the above post from @rd2rk, for more info regarding reamping. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  7. Afterthought! Simple enough solution to adding extra DSP to your Helix - just go and buy a HX Stomp and stick it into one of the FX Loops. That should do it. And as for your suggestion for a Helix V1.5 or v2 , you should be aware that this is a user group so there are no Line 6 staff here, and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - (See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums”). This link is where you need to go to have any hope of your suggestion been seen by anyone from Line 6: https://line6.ideascale.com/c/ Before posting any new ideas, please do a search to see if it's already been listed. Multiple requests for the same thing will thin out the votes. Also, post your ideas one at a time. Many users don’t vote for combined suggestions. Then you should use the “pinned thread” in this forum to let other users know what your suggestions are, with links to IdeaScale, so they can vote on it if they wish. Hope this helps
  8. Hi, I would think that it’s not so much a question of DSP, but more a question of planning. Also, when you say “stereo” amp, I guess you mean “dual” amps, as the amps in Helix are mono. This sort of thing has been discussed previously - check out some of the comments here:- Also, when I mentioned planning -check the reply from Digital_Igloo in this thread. Rather than staying on a single preset, consider setting up different presets for different sections. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  9. Well, the answer is in the first line of text of the download info:- “Line 6 Central is the new Line 6 device management platform. The modern user interface in Line 6 Central brings a simple and clear experience for keeping all your Line 6 gear updated with the latest firmware.” Hope this helps/makes sense.
  10. Hi, You might want to read through this thread for a clue. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  11. Hi, Helix Native is an AAX/AU/VST plugin for a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) such as Pro Tools, Reaper, Studio One, Logic Pro, etc. You do not need to have your hardware connected to use it, but it's a helps if you should yo need to use it as a USB Audio Interface to get your basic guitar sound into the DAW More info and video here: https://line6.com/helix/helixnative.html Hope this help/makes sense.
  12. My mistake - I was confusing this with another issue elsewhere.
  13. Hi, It might be worthwhile having a read of the Helix Floor v.3 Owner’s Manual - page 56 - Re: CC Toggle commands for the 2 states (Dim or Lit) https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f041b611d61cac763b/application/pdf/Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.
  14. Hi, Here we go again, another first post without doing a little research. I cannot see this happening after being on the market since 2015, especially has it has been discussed may times previously. I don’t want to type out all the reasons again - See my reply in this thread:- Oh, here’s another - Lots of other beat creation options out there in the world. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  15. Hi, If it is the big knob that is damaged, then you can find a replacement here: https://www.fullcompass.com/prod/525522-line-6-30-45-0053-volume-knob-for-helix If it is the shaft on the potentiometer, then maybe a regular electronics repair shop could fix it. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  16. Oh, I know what you mean. I ran the Native Access recently and noticed that some items will no longer download automatically - I guess these are now to be regarded as legacy products? It’s all planned obsolescence and madness. Aaarrrgghhhh!
  17. As previously stated the key word here is MIDI. It was me that posted the link to Sweetwater that mentioned "Half Damper" pedals, and I asked if you had read that, because you seemed to think this was a solution, when obviously it is not. If anyone had managed to create the same functionality as the Gamechanger Bigsby pedal, by using a mucho cheapo keyboard damper pedal, then YouTube, TGP and the rest of the guitar forums of the interwebs would be alive with the info on how to do it yourself. As you have discovered, this isn't the case and your's would appear to be a futile quest. Buy yourself a copy of "The Big Book of Helix Tricks 1.4" by @craiganderton and read Chapter 4|Poly Block Techniques which seems to cover all available tricks. Hope this helps/make sense, but probably not!
  18. It's the same every time Apple put out a new OS, the whole house of cards comes tumbling down, and they blame other developers for not keeping up. PITA.
  19. My guess that this is just the same as all the panic about OS 11 and M1 https://line6.com/support/page/kb/general-faq/operating-system-information/macos-11-big-sursilicon-m1-chip-compatibility-r985/:~:text=Both Intel and Apple Silicon,M1 systems at this time. Hope this helps
  20. Hi, This has been discussed many times in the past, but … There are no Line 6 staff here and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - (See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums”). 21. Hi, The Gamechanger pedal has a SHARC audio processor, along with a custom algorithm to allow it to perform it’s Poly Pitch Bigsby style jiggery pokery. So, yesterday using my Helix Floor, I decided to give this a whirl. I set a Poly Pitch block on Path A, and that didn’t really leave enough space for an amp and cab, which I added on Path B, along with a Plate Reverb. I selected the poly block and set it to be controlled by FS1 as a momentary switch with a +1 shift. I then played around with the timings for the shift and return, plus messed with the curve. Yup! That works - up, down up, down etc. I did the same thing by changing the shift to +2, and also -1 and - 2. No problem. The downside of this is you sacrifice one entire DSP and risk breaking a foot switch with constant clicking, plus it it limited to either shifting up or down, not both by travelling through a zero point. Right from the very start of Helix users clamouring for the addition of poly pitch shifting, they were made aware of how much dedicated processing it requires. If you’re willing to lose half of the power of your unit, and subject a foot-switch to intense wear and tear - fine. But consider this, by thinking you may have “saved hundreds”, you possibly risk causing physical damage to your LT, and that could be very expensive-(note: check out some of the many posts from @theElevators regarding LT switches). You may be better off with a MIDI switcher or even the real GA Bigsby pedal. Another option is to buy a guitar that is fitted with a Bigsby. There are many good reasons that people use dedicated external hardware solutions. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  22. Hi, I found this that may, or may not, have some relevant info you can checkout. It seems that you need a gizmo that has a built in DAC (Digital Audio Converter). I don’t know how good the info in this link is, because if I need to do what you want, I have both an iPhone and iPad. https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/y9uq6x/how_do_i_enable_audio_over_usbc_for_my_pixel_7/ Hope this helps/makes sense.
  23. Well, to be quite honest about your quest for a cheap, simple solution to creating this function - if this was a real possibility then Gamechanger Audio would not be asking the the price they do for this product. It is obviously not just a repackaged keyboard “damper/sustain pedal”. https://gamechangeraudio.com/bigsby-pedal/ You might want to try investigating the possibility of using Command Centre to trigger momentary switching with the attack and release functions of pitch shifting options. Maybe time to bite the bullet, and buy the tool to do the job? Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: You said - “But in experimenting with pitch, I did think the quality was decent” And so it should be. Did you know that the poly pitch shifting functions of your Helix were created by the same team that had previously worked on, and developed the DigiTech Wammy?
  24. The key word here is “MIDI”. That suddenly appeared from nowhere. Have you been reading this? https://www.sweetwater.com/insync/half-damper/ The thing that baffles me is why you appear to be set against using a dedicated expression pedal? Then you seem to have dismissed the PolyPitch function without actually trying it.
  25. Hi, You’re a little late to this horse flogging party and the horse is totally dead. If you want larger icons - see my reply in this thread. The definitive answer on the idea of a skeuomorphic interface is in this thread from way back in 2017. See the reply from Digital_Igloo (Eric Klein, Chief Product Design Architect at Yamaha Guitar Group, Inc. / Line 6 / Ampeg) Hope this helps/makes sense.
