Hi gsmccoy, On the Helix Floor unit the options from left to right are: Position: 0 - 100% Heel Pitch: -24 to +24 Toe Pitch: -24 to +24 Mix: 0 - 100% Level: I’m not near my unit at the moment so I don’t t have the figures, but it is not pertinent to your situation. O.K. The position tracks where your pedal is in the range of the sweep Heel and Toe are the semitones shifts above and below your original pitch, unison = 0 Mix is how much pitch shift is mixed with your original. I really don’t think the options on the HX FX will be any different to these. You should be able to set minus 4 on the Toe Pitch and zero on the Heel to get the effect you want to create. If not I guess you must be looking at something else? Hope this makes sense and here’s a pic that “syngen1790” posted a couple of years back.

Hi JakeMann35, As usual the answer will be in the Owner’s Manual. Press the button marked with 3 stacked lines (next to the save button) and then the GLOBAL SETTINGS switch. Turn the Big Knob to select Prefs, then touch the footswitch displaying "Snapst Edits" (FS2). Turn the corresponding knob to set snapshot edit behavior: Recall—Any snapshot edits are recalled when jumping from snapshot to snapshot, and appear as you last left them (the default). Discrd [Discard]—Any snapshot edits are discarded when jumping from snap- shot to snapshot, and appear as the preset was last saved. If you want to save changes made to a snapshot while Snapshot Edits is set to “Discard,” press SAVE twice before selecting another snapshot All this and more is available in the manual, it is your friend. Of course, some people just don’t like reading manuals, so here’s a vid covering the basics of creating a preset and snapshots. Hope me this helps.

Hi simmerswitch, This issue has cropped up on several occasions, most recently regarding a Fender amp. You can see the comments in that thread here: As noted in those comments, there are also other brands with this switching issue. The thing is that Line 6 implemented a channel switching feature that works, just not in all cases. Don’t hold your breath waiting for a comment from Line 6, this goes way back to 2015. FYI: see this post. This guy had a solution for Mesa V25 Owners. Hope this makes sense.

Hi again, Ah, the Vintage Delay! Well that model is supposed to sound like that. It is replicating the sound of early digital delay systems and the noise created is due to the way they worked. It's all down to the sample rates and bit depths that early DDL units used. I still have a 12-bit 34KHz mid 1980's rack mount unit gathering dust in the corner. Solution - don't use "Vintage Delay", "Vintage Swell" or the old Bucket Brigade and Adriatic models if you don't want the digital noise that is inherent in them. Also, as noted above by "cruisinon2", avoid the Transistor and Cosmos tape delays for similar reasons. NOISE! Hope this makes sense.

Hi Guitarsarang, You haven me confused by saying you use "classic delay" on the chain, and you would like to know if there are any issues with this particular delay. I am not aware of any delay in the Helix which is named "classic". To check, I have just scrolled through all the delays listed under Mono, Stereo and Legacy and can find no model named "classic". Pease advise, which delay you are referring to?

Hi, again, Well, I guess you managed to get the Helix LT updated - or did you give up on trying to download? As for some sort of speaker system for personal listening there are many, many choices. Depends what you want to do with the Helix. If you want to hook it up to a computer for recording or playing along to YouTube vids and backing tracks, you just need some powered monitor speakers. The other option is to get a single FRFR speaker with a built in amp. There so many choices out there it will basically come down to how much you want to spend. Narrow that down a you will have a better idea of what to buy. In the meantime, enjoy it through your headphones!

Hi again, I've just had a look at the Fender Supersonic Owners Manual. The supplied 3 button footswitch controls Voicing/Channel/FX on-off and as noted previously, this is done by changing the voltage levels into a logic board. I don't know of any quick or inexpensive way round that and not from HXFX. What I find really interesting, is that you say you can change your amp settings by sweeping through with your expression pedal - yeah, well the exp is just a variable resistor which is changing throughout it range of travel, so that will be changing the voltage presented to the amp. Downside to that - not very precise and may cause damage AFAIK. I'm not even sure that the PMS-2 would be any good as that also needs to be able to change the voltage. I think the best option is what you say in your final comment. Keep the HXFX, work the amp with the supplied switching and cable and use your Ax for the quick changes. Hope this makes sense.

Hi rdomain, The comment above from "phil_m" is correct. It's not a problem with the Line 6 HX, but your Fender amp, (and some other brands also). I recently spotted this comment in another forum regarding Fender amp switching: “As for nearly all newer Fender amps, the footswitch is a TS connected, switching voltage-levels on the same wire, which is interpreted by a logic circuit. Channel select and reverb transmit four different voltages.” Maybe you will have to use the stock 3 button unit that ships with the Supersonic 60 for switching and the HX just forFX. Hope this makes sense.

Hi again, Connect your Helix LT to your computer with a good USB cable then do the following and you you should be fine: Go to the Line 6 downloads page, you should select HX Edit under the All Software tab and then select whatever version of Windows or Mac OS you are using from All OS on the dropdown menus. This will take you to the correct download page, HX Edit 2.60 “The Spring Cleaning Update”. This is the only thing you need to download.  When you install HX Edit it will also install the latest Line6 Updater v1.14 and any other drivers etc., that you may need. After the new HX Edit software has been installed, reboot your computer. Doing a clean install should clear any glitches that were linking to any old versions of the software which you may have installed   When you’ve done this, ensure HX Edit is shutdown, then launch the new Line 6 Updater v1.14, click the about button to check the details. If all your connections are good the Updater should see your Helix. You can now proceed with the firmware upgrade, over your internet connection. Do not disconnect or turn off the power to your Helix during this process. When completed your Helix will reboot and rebuild the presets, then you are good to go, no hardware reset is required. Hope this makes sense.

Hi Grasoon, Try this. Firstly, before you attempt to launch the Line6 Updater v1.14 , and if necessary, use HX Edit to make a backup of everything on your Helix. When the backup is complete, ensure HX Edit is shutdown and not hogging the Helix USB link. Then launch the new Line 6 Updater v1.14, click the about button to check the details are correct. If all your connections are good the Updater should see your Helix. You can now proceed with the firmware upgrade, over your internet connection. If the issue persists, after you have followed the above advice, then I would guess some sort of glitch has occurred. There could be a problem with the USB connection. It’s not uncommon for USB to be flakey from one moment to the next, so check or swap your cables. Another thing that has been mentioned recently is, if a MIDI cable is plugged into the DIN socket, then communication errors may occur. Not sure why, but it’s some sort of voodoo. One thing I did notice in your post is, you mention that you downloaded “both HX Edit and Line 6 update”. That gives me the impression that you downloaded those 2 items separately? If you did, then that maybe the cause of the problem. I would suggest that you should start over and, following the download instructions which I previously posted above, you should select HX Edit under the All Software tab and then the version of Mac OS X you are using from All OS on the dropdown menus. This will take you to the correct download page. This is the only thing you need to download.  Hope this is some help and please let us know if it solves the problem.

Hi, As noted by “HonestOpinion” in the post above, apart from the fact you are using a Helix LT, we have nothing to go on. Go through the things he has suggested that you should check first and see if there is any obvious user error. If not, then read on... It would be a lot easier to figure out if it is a “lemon” (doubtful) if you tell us what you are connecting to the LT on both the input and output stage. I’m asking this because it’s not unknown to have someone hook up a Helix to their “home cinema” system and complain that the result is not what they expected. Strange, but true! So, full rig breakdown please. Help us to help you! Thanks

Hi Paul, I don’t own a HX Effects unit, but I have seen some people on here state that there can be noise issues. I’m not sure if this is relevant, but maybe you are one of the very few people who has one of the rogue units mentioned here: Also. One guy in particular got very irate about the fact he had voltage present in the jack connections from the Pedal/EXT Amp socket. I’m not sure if those 3volts are part of the “short to sleeve” switching system, but this guy was very annoyed about it. Although, he also seemed to think that polarity switching on the pedal was “strange” even when it is clearly explained in the manual. - see his rant here: Hope this maybe some help to you. Hi, The HX Edit software is not just a way to remotely edit patches on the hardware, it's also a Librarian application to allow you to keep all your backup presets/setlists/bundles organised. Simply create folder on your Mac/Win PC and name it whatever you like (eg: Helix Preset Backups) and store your stuff in there. It's easy, you just have to keep it well managed. Have fun!

“Never did a backup” Well that’s a big problem. When you’re working with your Helix it’s very easy to become distracted when creating a tone and forget to save it. Not only have you lost that patch, but also the time you put in building it. The same applies to set lists. Essentially your Helix is a very special computer that is really good at doing what it does, but as I mentioned before the rules are - save, save and save then backup once, twice and just for the hell of it a make safety copy somewhere else. Because this big black box of tricks works on a series of zeros and ones, it's quite easy for them to get scrambled up on odd occasions - usually just when you need them most. For about the past 35 years I’ve been tell users of this sort of tech - it’s not a question of if it goes wrong, but more like when it goes wrong, because believe me it will. When you have done the Factory reset, double check that both the Helix and HX Edit are both version 2.60, then you should be able to get on and recreate your missing tones. Good luck

Damn, that’s really weird. I don’t recall ever seeing that, so I don’t know what exactly happened! I hope you went for the “fail safe” routine of backing up everything first? The first rule is - always work on a copy! I would guess that something has screwed up and would suggest that you do a Factory reset which will revert you back to a box fresh version of your Helix. Find all the reset options here: https://helixhelp.com/reset-options/ The reason that I didn’t advise you to reset your Helix before is because performing a reset means you will lose all your patches in the hardware. You do have backups don’t you? Oh, yeah, I got the Factory 2 setlist from my backup!

Hi ddufour, Here ya go - FACTORY SETLIST 2 from the last firmware update v2.60 https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ibpcgblkcud6u6/FACTORY 2.hls.zip?dl=0 Just open up Helix Edit, select FACTORY 2 from the Setlist menu and import this unzipped replacement .hls file. I had to zip this file and put this on DropBox because of the crazy limit on the size of attached files that can be uploaded here. Hope this helps

Hi jesus cares, Simple enough. Nothing on the second path was functioning, because the output from Path1 was going directly out of your Helix. I've edited the preset so that now the output is directed to Path2A into the Teemah, second Amp & Cab, Volume and Sweep Echo. I guess that the second amp and cab will be switched on and off via snapshots and the edit I made to the signal flow is not affected by the snaps. Hope this makes sense. Attached edited preset:

Oops! It seems that I had misread you post the first time I commented - apologies! What “codamedia” suggests in the post above would work. Use a send block to switch to the other channel. The only drawback to doing that is you lose a footswitch that could be used for another effect.

Hi shredzilla, That’s not much fun, but you haven’t given us anything to work with. You say you are “trying to update to the newest firmware”, but what hardware are you connecting to, Floor, Rack, LT or FX. Also, which version are you trying to upgrade from, what computer and operating system are you using. This info would help us to help you! Regards
