  1. This was discussed in this thread from way back in 2018. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  2. Simple solution - bypass using HX Edit for the download, and go for a local install using the Line 6 Updater app, or Line 6 Control. A “Login Failure” is not a bug in the Firmware, most likely a glitch.
  3. I really cannot comprehend what you have been trying to do, especially with all this mentioning of: “The instructions say that there is a Global settings issue with Silicon” and “Boot Failure crap when trying to update with Central. I had to use the old Line 6 Updater to even get past boot failure” Really? To install Helix Native you definitely do not need to use Central, or Line 6 Updater. Here are the genuine instructions for installation from the Helix Native 3.80 download page. How do I update to 3.80? Updating Helix Native Before updating Helix Native, it is highly recommended that you export a preset/setlist bundle. Click the gear icon in the lower left, select the Presets/IRs tab, and then click Export Bundle. Some hardware compatibility modes (HX Stomp, HX Stomp XL, HX Effects) do not have this feature as they have only one setlist. In these cases, at the top of the preset list, click the yellow EXPORT to export the setlist. Quit your DAW and download and install Helix Native 3.80: Helix Native 3.80 (macOS): https://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=12909 Helix Native 3.80 (Windows): https://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=12911 Open your DAW and open an instance of Helix Native. OPTIONAL: The only way to hear 3.80's new factory presets is to restore them. IMPORTANT! MAKE SURE YOU'VE EXPORTED A BUNDLE (OR ANY IMPORTANT SETLISTS) FIRST, AS RESTORING FACTORY SETLISTS WILL ERASE ALL YOUR WORK! Click the gear icon in the lower left, select the Presets/IRs tab, and then click Restore Factory Setlists. Click Yes. Please take note of the things in red text. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  4. Hi, I don’t understand why this happened, but I also don’t understand why you wanted to update to v.3.80 as it is mostly new amps and cabs and the only item for HXFX users is the Teardrop Bass Q Wah? You could try and revert back to v3.71 in an attempt to resurrect your hardware. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  5. Nope, not a bug! It works fine for me - but I’m using a Mac. Oh, if you don’t update, you’re missing a treat - a couple of heavy duty much requested amps inside. Check your computer settings.
  6. Hi, Dual amp and dual IRs indicate that you have split your signal path into parallel processing, with an amp and cab IR in each path. If that is the case you might find it helpful to read this post regarding split/merge paths. It save me from lots of typing. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  7. Yeah, it certainly is bold - Never ask for serial numbers! It could appear to be a scam. Not like anyone in their right mind would ever reveal their serial no. It may be a wiser choice, if you did what all others do when seeking a lower priced copy of HXN, simply post a message in here asking if anyone has a copy for sale. You might want to edit this post to suit. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  8. Hi, Rob, You say that you cannot get your HX Rack to connect over USB to update the firmware to v3.80. Although you say that it is a pre-owned unit, you didn’t mention if you had ever been able to get it to hook up to your computer via USB. If you did have 2 way communication then it may be that it is a glitch. Also, you say you are using a Windows PC - some PC boxes have issues if the USB is using one of the ports on the front - if that’s the case, try patching the USB cable to one of the ports on the rear of the PC. Also, if you had a problem trying to update from HX Edit and it failed, then HX Edit has to be completely shutdown before attempting to run the Line6 Updater or it will block the connection. Furthermore, you could try using Line 6 Central for the update as it supposed to be optimised for the purpose. Anyhow, as you haven’t heard back from Customer Support (they are closed for Thanksgiving) try following the instructions in the link posted below. NOTE: HX Edit cannot connect to a HX device that is in a “Failed State”. Also there was a major update to the Helix Core in v2.80 firmware and you may experience the installation taking longer than expected and appearing to have failed part way through - this is normal and is mentioned in the firmware release notes. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  9. Hi, When weird stuff starts to happen, especially after an update, you should try a factory reset. In fact, it’s part of the information included in the Release Notes for the firmware. Then restore from the backup you made prior to the update - especially the global settings. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  10. Hi, I have various acoustic guitar IRs, including some Taylor and Martin from Selah Sound. If you have a look at the Selah demo videos available you will notice that all of their IR files are loaded into Helix Native with the level set at 0dB. I have just spent ages trawling the web, because IIRC, I’m sure that I have seen someone recommending taking the IR level for this brand to +3dB, but hey, it’s whatever sounds good to you. Anyhow, regarding your signal flow, you could try this. Guitar in > Acoustic IR > Studio Tube Pre > LA Comp > Dynamic Room Reverb. In my case, I also have a Parametric EQ, Chorus and Delay, between the comp and verb, that can be switched in to taste if needed. It may also be worth checking out some of the 3 Sigma Audio acoustic IRs. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  11. Oops! My apologies, I seem to have misled you about a legacy Auto Wah. I was confusing that particular effect with one someone else recently asked about - the Auto Swell. Doh! I found this old thread about auto wah from way back in 2016 - check it for any suggestions/clues which may help you. After I checked the Legacy filters in Helix, I think you might also try playing around with the Tron Up, which Is inspired by the Mu-Tron® III envelope follower in the "Up" position. Part auto-wah, part triggered filter, it's all about wacky. Experiment with all this stuff - you can’t damage it. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  12. Hi, A lot of this sort of thing comes down to personal preferences - everyone will have their own favourites. In your case, you mention “not to disturb anyone”, that would make me point you in the direction of the “closed back” option, in an attempt to control any “audio spill”. Further to that, you don’t mention what budget you’re considering - this can make a big difference. There are many, many threads in here all asking for suggestions for headphones - it could take weeks if you went through all the listed products. Ultimately only you can decide. I have a few sets of cans, but I generally find that the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x are usually close to hand and therefore are the first ones picked up. They are a bit of an studio standard for closed back phones. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  13. Hi, You need to adjust your Global settings to reflect the pedal position on all your presets. From the manual:- If you want a Volume Pedal or Wah to maintain its position when switching presets, set this to “Global.” Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: Never had a Spider, but it might nbe worth checking out the Legacy Effects section which has an Auto Wah from the older Line6 stuff.

  15. Err… nope. The. Weeper is based on the Arbiter Cry Baby. Dunlop now has stacks of variations of the Cry Baby.

Yeah, it would appear that everyone is of the same opinion that something new is just over the horizon. Bring it on!

Is that it? Well, whadayano! @HelixRackMan (gsmanon) - it seems that you even got the attention of young Mr. Cordy over on that YouTube thing. Hmm…
  18. Hi, I’m not entirely sure that I understand what you are doing, but from your description it would appear that there is a single guitar input which is being processed to produce both guitar and bass sounds. If that is the case, my guess is that after the guitar signal enters the Helix it is then split into 2 separate paths. You could try adding the Looper before the split, then once you have the loop captured and you switch to playback both the looped and non-looped signal splits as normal to produce bass and guitar at their designated outputs. If it is actually more complex than your original post, please provide more details. Note: The onboard looper is not exactly designed to be a “performance” looper, I have several external dedicated loopers suitable for various applications. It might be worth investigating the outboard options. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  19. Hello. I just bought a new line 6 helix LT in a store. I want to register it but I don't know where I can find the serial number. On the back there are 2 barcodes but I don't think that's it. Can you tell me where I can see the serial number to register the product. Thank you Hello, The serial number should be the one below the 2 barcodes on the back of your Helix LT. The clue is the number you require is the one that starts SN: (XX) Hola, El número de serie debe ser el que se encuentra debajo de los 2 códigos de barras en la parte posterior de su Helix LT. La pista es el numero que requieres es el que comienza con SN: (XX)
  20. Hi, Your M-Audio EXP needs to be assigned in each preset where a Wah pedal block is in the signal path. When you change from one Preset to another your HX LT doesn’t automatically know that you are using an external pedal to control the wah block. It expects that it will be using the built in pedal. Highlight the wah block and then select the “Hamburger” menu button to the right of the “Save” button. Next press knob 2 to select Controller Assign and scroll to EXP2. Now your external pedal should be working your Wah effect. Also note: you will need to reset the controller every time you change the wah model. For example if you assign a Weeper model to EXP2, then swap to a Chrome model you need to reassign the EXP2 controller. Lots of useful info in here: https://line6.com/data/6/0a00051afd86673ccb96424d9/application/pdf/Helix LT 3.80 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.
  21. This is starting to become tedious - please check other posts in the forum for a solution before staring yet another “Update bricked my Helix”. NOTE: HX Edit cannot connect to a HX device that is in a “Failed State”. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  22. Yep, from what I understand that’s the case, and I found what seems to be a good explanation of why it’s not controlled by an external knob. Check here, in post #11 from GreatGreen. https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/evh-5150iii-should-i-get-a-100w-if-i-have-the-50w.2466494/ Hope this helps/makes sense.
  23. Dunno? Maybe you should ask the EVH manufacturer, because what makes it weirder is the 80w, 50w head, plus the 50w and 40w combo, even the 2x12 combo, all have a resonance control.
  24. In that case you are WRONG! The real world 5150 III DOESN"T have a resonance control knob onboard - but the 5150 IIIS does! From the addendum of the manual available on https://www.evhgear.com/support/product-manuals ADDENDUM: All functions and features of the EVH 5150 III 100S are identical to the EVH 5150 III, except for the items and part numbers included in this addendum sheet. A. RESONANCE — Adjusts the low frequency response for each channel respectively. B. ADJUST BIAS and BIAS TEST POINTS — NOT USER SERVICEABLE. These features should only be used by an authorized service technician to adjust the bias of the amplifier tubes. The Line 6 are based on the 5051 III 100 amplifier NOT the 100S.
  25. Depends which one you mean - the older PV Panama (5150) model does have a dedicated Resonance parameter. I'm not wrong...
