  1. Hi, You might want to check this out - Command Centre allows you to assign almost anything to anything. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  2. Hi, This is a peer to peer user forum. There are no Line staff here and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums” This link is where you need to go to have any hope of it been seen by anyone from Line 6: https://line6.ideascale.com/c/line6 Before posting any new ideas, please do a search to see if it's already been listed. Multiple requests for the same thing will thin out the votes. Also, post your ideas one at a time. Many users don’t vote for combined suggestions. You should use this thread to let other users know what your suggestions are, with links to IdeaScale, so they can vote on it if they wish. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  3. Hi, You could save yourself from a lot of grief by downloading and installing a copy of Audacity! You should have a better all round experience of dipping your toe into digital recording. It is also probably better suited to what you are trying to do - plus it’s totally FREE! Here’s a video: https://youtu.be/xPrghMRVTHY?si=D_2BTPmSKSOMyPww Hope this helps/makes sense.
  4. This is the most concerning part of your post - if you cannot see any of the new amps and fx, it usually means that you need to ensure that you are using the latest version of HX Edit. This has been well documented over quite a few years. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  5. Hi Nope, just you - it must be psychological. I have owned my Helix since 2015 and done every firmware update from v1.60.5 through to v3.80, and it never fails to surprise me how the thing just get better and better. If this was actually a real thing, you can definitely guarantee that this place would be alive with even more complaints than those usual “Update bricked my Helix” posts that always happen after a firmware update. There is absolutely no reason why an update should do what you say. It makes no sense whatsoever. Line 6 have always maintained that they endeavour to ensure that none of your presets are modified by any firmware updates. If there is even a minor chance that something may be altered in the slightest, then it is listed in the Release Notes. The whole concept of deliberately changing the actual sound output would be a legal minefield - guess it’s just your imagination. I suggest it might be advisable to check that your Global setting haven’t changed in some way. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  6. Hi, The main thing that sticks out in your comment is - "it interrupted the update and worse still, turned my LT into a brick which is no longer being seen as connected to the Editor app on the laptop. I've tried to download Line6 Updater and even Central but the message coming in from my MacBook pro says it can't install." HX Edit cannot connect to a hardware device that is in a failed state. Also never let you Mac lose focus during the update, never have other background tasks running. Go here - read study and inwardly digest all the information regarding how to recover your LT from being a paperweight. It was put together a couple of years back, but usually fixes the issue. Remember where ever the information refers to a particular version number, you should regard that as a reference to the very latest version. Oh, yeah - there are lots of us Helix users here in the U.K. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  7. Hi, Rich, Doing a quick Google of “Sparrow Controller” reveals lots of people who appear to be in a similar situation to you. There are questions about various DAWs, such as Cubase, Cakewalk, Fruity Loops and Logic - this rather gives the impression that the issue is down to user error, and or, the actual MIDI device. Here is an example thread about Logic: https://vi-control.net/community/threads/connecting-a-sparrow-midi-controller-to-logic-komplete-s61-mk2-keyboard.147902/ I think your best bet is to contact the manufacturer for advice. Note: I use an Arturia KeyLab 61 and a Behringer XTouch Universal MIDI Controller via USB to my Mac running Helix Native in Logic Pro. Once Logic knows what controllers are connected, simply use MIDI learn, and it all functions exactly as expected. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  8. Yes, it is in the Helix v3.80 Owner’s Manual on Pages 77-78 in the MIDI section. https://line6.com/data/6/0a00051afda2673ccc1cc8e68/application/pdf/Helix 3.80 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.
  9. Hi, Rich, You can find all the relevant info about recording, and re-amping using your HX Stomp, in the Owner’s Manual on pages 61 - 64, in the section marked USB Audio. https://line6.com/data/6/0a00051afdda673cccdb61c9c/application/pdf/HX Stomp 3.80 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Anyhow, as you have recently discovered, Helix Native will be a very good investment. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  10. Hi, I don't use Nuendo - I have Logic on my Mac, but the automation can be written into the track, or you can use MIDI to do the same. From what little I do know about Nuendo is, there are 3 different types of automation available - Touch, Latch and Cross Over. It may be worth digging a little deeper into how these various options work. Check this link: https://ask.video/article/audio-software/a-complete-guide-to-nuendo-and-cubases-automation-panel Hope this helps/makes sense.
  11. When all else fails! This has been this Helix user forum “get out of jail free” card for quite some time now. Just remember to use the latest version numbers whenever a number is listed in the very detailed instructions. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  12. Hi, Not sure why you are picking up “hum”, but the first line of defence here would be the Ground Lift Switch, on the rear panel of your LT. It is there as a “hum buster” for dealing with this sort of thing. There can be many reasons for introducing ground loop hum in your signal. I see that you mention that you have a Return block in your presets, but didn’t say where this is positioned in the signal path, or how complex your presets are? Have you tried creating a parallel split B on Path1 (or Path2) where the actual input to it is designated as RETURN 1 (or 1&2) and set to Line level. Using the Returns as a dedicated input, you have an optional noise gate that might help cut out any excessive noise, and the audio from you BOSS recorder could then pass through to the outputs without going through any additional processing blocks. I also note that the output from the Boss 80 is on a stereo mini phone connector. Check whatever 1/8” to 1/4” jack converter is the right one for the job. You could use a splitter to connect the Boss stereo out to both 1 and 2 Return input sockets to see if that improves the audio signal. All 4 paths available in your Helix LT are stereo. It’s always a good idea to have a read through the Helix LT 3.80 Owner’s Manual for options on routing your signal. https://line6.com/data/6/0a00051afd86673ccb96424d9/application/pdf/Helix LT 3.80 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.
  13. Yep, Mode and Tap Tempo cannot be reassigned in the manner you want. Some stuff just shouldn’t be messed with. You maybe should have read this first:- Hope this helps/makes sense.
  14. Did you try this by also adding a Studio Tube Pre in the signal path?
  15. Hi, It certainly shouldn’t be regarded as “strange that the firmware update didn't take care of this automatically”. That is a “fail safe” precaution! Can you imagine the outcry, and threats of legal action, that could ensue if a device rebooted and wiped all your hard work. Nope! You really have to expect a little human interaction along with taking some responsibility for looking after your perfectly sculpted tones. The information about factory resets, and not accidentally overwriting any of your own presets, is fully detailed in the Release Notes for all the Firmware updates, which you are encouraged to read by using the link on the firmware download page. https://line6.com/support/page/kb/effects-controllers/helix/helixhx-380-release-notes-r1079/ See points 4 & 5 in the Updating Helix/HX Hardware section. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  16. Hi, Ah, ha… now it begins to make sense. As I mentioned in my previous post, when I record into Logic, I capture the stereo processed audio with all the effects from my Helix over USB 1&2. At the same time, I also record the totally dry mono signal onto another track over USB 7. This means that if you’re unhappy with the amount of overdrive, or distortion, or whatever else in your processed signal, you can simply insert an instance of HX Native into the Direct Injected dry channel and re-amp as many times as you wish. You can take that same performance and play it back though lots of different presets making modifications to the Amp, Cab, Mic choice, etc until you achieve your tonal nirvana. I sometimes duplicate the dry signal and reprocess the audio through several instances of HX Native simultaneously. HX Native and the firmware in your Helix (providing they are on the same revision number) will sound identical, and all your presets can be exchanged back and forth between Native and the Floor box seamlessly. Using Native for re-amp duties means it can all remain inside you Mac, and you can continue to monitor it all from the Helix without having to reconfigure anything. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  17. Hi, I use my Helix Floor, Helix Native and Logic Pro on an almost daily basis and have to say that I have not experienced any audio distortion, other than that produced by the specific blocks in Helix. Also my Kali Audio IN-8 2nd wave monitors are connected to the XLR sockets of the Helix to provide zero latency. I have been working with this system since buying my Helix in 2015 and adding Native when it was later released. I usually record the processed audio from the Helix into a stereo channel on USB 1&2, and also a DI dry signal on another channel set to USB 7. The DI can then be used to re-amp the part after the fact (eg: if the processed audio has too much reverb it can be corrected). Recording your signal at the correct level will help to avoid any distorted audio, as noted by @silverhead in the post above, you may need to check your gain staging. Overdriving inputs on digital is a bad thing and best avoided. A little more info about your set up may help. Recently, there were several discussions on YouTube about how some people have been using audio plug-ins incorrectly. See linked video below. This is generally the main reason that there may be a difference between the software and hardware audio output. Suffice to say that Helix Native software is the same as the firmware in the hardware unit, and the audio reproduction should be identical. The only things missing from Native are the physical hardware components, such as SEND/RETURN and the Looper. There should be no change whatsoever in the replayed tone. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  18. Hi, I saw that you had posted on IdeaScale, but I seem to recall that someone else requested a similar thing way back. That never happened, so I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for this, especially as the Helix is rapidly approaching it’s tenth birthday. Also - No, the Helix Floor doesn’t handle this differently, it doesn’t even have the Performance View like the LT, it uses Scribble Strips. Anyhow, regarding the Snapshot situation, have you investigated using the Command Centre which can greatly expand your options for working. Not so much with any greater on screen info, but the ability to stack snapshots on one switch and/or essentially create presets within presets. You might be able to find another way to navigate through your one man band gigs. Have a look at this video from Steve Sterlacci - he has a few covering this subject. Hope this helps/makes sense.

  20. Hi, Yup! - That’s the way it works - you can see the named Snapshots in Snapshot mode, and the Stomp names in Stomp mode. Bit of a clue in the mode name. You do have the option to have 4 Stomps displayed on the top row with 4 Snaps on the row below, or vice versa - 4 Snaps above 4 Stomps below. See Helix LT 3.80 Owner’s Manual > Page 54 > Arranging Preset, Snapshot, and Stomp Switches. https://line6.com/data/6/0a00051afd86673ccb96424d9/application/pdf/Helix LT 3.80 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.
  21. Hi, Downloaded my v.1.5 copy this afternoon, after seeing the comment from @carlosvladi in the post above - no issues, simply clicked on the link in the original conformation email, as all previous updates. Thank you for all your work.
  22. Hi, I have only just seen this thread, and I have to agree that importing the backing track into Logic is the easiest solution. I mention this as a long time Logic user (back to the days of Emagic), and have been using my Helix Floor as my main audio interface to get the audio in and out of Logic on my Mac almost daily since late 2015. Note: I also have another couple of audio interfaces available that can also be incorporated into an aggregate audio device to add even more USB ins and outs in addition to the 8 built into my Helix should they be required. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  23. Hi again, Can I suggest that you go and watch this video and then see if you have a better understanding of how to get to what you’re trying to achieve. You should be able to figure a way to make your gear get a similar result simply by where you position the split and the amp/cab block. This guy does it all with HX Stomp running stereo FX. Note:- there are several other videos on YouTube featuring similar ways of approaching this - for example this guy using mono effects. Oh, and this guy uses this set up on HX Stomp for his P&W rig. Go on - experiment - it may be way better that you expected. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  24. Hi, Have tried loading it into HX Edit? The reason I ask is, because I just dropped into a preset viewer and it occupies path 1 A and B with 7 blocks, so it should be feasible. Viewer here: https://hxview.netlify.app Hope this helps/makes sense.
  25. Hi, again. I woke up about 3am and nearly screamed out loud - WHY? Every time you have an Amp/Cab block last in the signal path, then the resulting output will be (dual) mono, that’s just the way it works. How the hell are you monitoring this stuff as it appears all you have is a single guitar amp (mono)
