  1. Hi, Yup! - That’s the way it works - you can see the named Snapshots in Snapshot mode, and the Stomp names in Stomp mode. Bit of a clue in the mode name. You do have the option to have 4 Stomps displayed on the top row with 4 Snaps on the row below, or vice versa - 4 Snaps above 4 Stomps below. See Helix LT 3.80 Owner’s Manual > Page 54 > Arranging Preset, Snapshot, and Stomp Switches. https://line6.com/data/6/0a00051afd86673ccb96424d9/application/pdf/Helix LT 3.80 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.
  2. Hi, Downloaded my v.1.5 copy this afternoon, after seeing the comment from @carlosvladi in the post above - no issues, simply clicked on the link in the original conformation email, as all previous updates. Thank you for all your work.
  3. Hi, I have only just seen this thread, and I have to agree that importing the backing track into Logic is the easiest solution. I mention this as a long time Logic user (back to the days of Emagic), and have been using my Helix Floor as my main audio interface to get the audio in and out of Logic on my Mac almost daily since late 2015. Note: I also have another couple of audio interfaces available that can also be incorporated into an aggregate audio device to add even more USB ins and outs in addition to the 8 built into my Helix should they be required. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  4. Hi again, Can I suggest that you go and watch this video and then see if you have a better understanding of how to get to what you’re trying to achieve. You should be able to figure a way to make your gear get a similar result simply by where you position the split and the amp/cab block. This guy does it all with HX Stomp running stereo FX. Note:- there are several other videos on YouTube featuring similar ways of approaching this - for example this guy using mono effects. Oh, and this guy uses this set up on HX Stomp for his P&W rig. Go on - experiment - it may be way better that you expected. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  5. Hi, Have tried loading it into HX Edit? The reason I ask is, because I just dropped into a preset viewer and it occupies path 1 A and B with 7 blocks, so it should be feasible. Viewer here: https://hxview.netlify.app Hope this helps/makes sense.
  6. Hi, again. I woke up about 3am and nearly screamed out loud - WHY? Every time you have an Amp/Cab block last in the signal path, then the resulting output will be (dual) mono, that’s just the way it works. How the hell are you monitoring this stuff as it appears all you have is a single guitar amp (mono)
  7. Hi, This is my point entirely - he has not mentioned what amp he is using, and/or if it has a fx loop (which may or may not help here), because the way I read this is the OP has never heard his gear in stereo. It would appear that all those expensive, stereo fx are slammed into the front of whatever mono amp he happens to be using. Using the HX Stomp he could put his fancy drive boxes in front of it, and then patch the Timeline and Big Sky in the Stomp’s FX Loop after any Amp/Cab block of choice, then go to stereo out. Although, other than headphones, which he also didn’t mention, it seems there is no apparent method of monitoring, or hearing, this “holy grail” of stereo that he wants to achieve, simply to go to FOH. I really don’t understand what the point of this would be, especially without knowing how it sounds in stereo. It appears to me to be an exercise in futility, because every time an amp/cab block is added to the end of the signal chain it defeats the object. Right at the start the OP told us - “I want to...”, BUT never told us WHY? We are chasing our own tails on this one, I think. Right, now I’m back to clearing snow!
  8. OK! Here we go again. Forget the SEND, and instead of connecting path B back to Path A drag it down to create another output that goes out on the SEND sockets. Of course you don’t want 2 amp/cab blocks in this preset. See the HX Stomp 3.8 Owner’s Manual > Page 18 > Setting Path B’s Output for details of this. https://line6.com/data/6/0a00051afdda673cccdb61c9c/application/pdf/HX Stomp 3.80 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.
  9. Correct! The HX Stomp Path A and Path B are stereo. You can feed any stereo effect you like into the front L/R inputs of the HX Stomp and it will travel along Path A and will appear at the L/R out of the Stomp in the identical state, UNLESS you have that stereo input signal pass through a block that is set to mono, eg: an amp block. After that everything is mono UNLESS the signal then passes through a stereo block, eg: a ping pong delay (which can only be stereo). Although, any other effect before the amp will exit the amp in mono and signal will bounce from left to right after the stereo delay block. Ha, ha, ha - yeah double the expense for something that still cannot work how you think it should. It appears that the only reason you are using the HX Stomp is as an amp sim. If that’s the case, this will never work because amps are mono. Throughout this discourse, you never mentioned what hardware amp you are using? Feeding all your external pedals into your amp must have always been in mono, so now I wonder about this interest in stereo. Have you tried this: - Guitar > HX Stomp IN > Minotaur > Tone Sovereign > US Princess+Cab > Ping Pong Delay > Dynamic Hall Reverb > HX Stomp Out L/R > Stereo Powered Monitors HX Stomp Phones Out. Result - glorious stereo from a HX Stomp.
  10. Hi, Well as an amp model is a mono block that is normal, but you didn’t indicate any other blocks that might be stereo and post amp block. For instance, you listed your signal chain is TUNER - TUMNUS - KING OF TONE - TIMELINE- BIGSKY - HX STOMP. Are you using stereo from the Strymon units to feed the HX Stomp? If you are, then they will already be collapsed to mono as soon as the hit the amp block? It sort of defeats the object. Generally most users would have time based effects after the amp section, in order to take advantage of the stereo effects. I can understand wanting to use “the real thing” with your pedals, but the HX Stomp has a tuner onboard, along with a stack of overdrive pedals, including a KOT model, and a whole bunch of stereo delays and reverbs. If you are only using the Stomp for the amp model then you will always end up with a mono output. From what I can derive from your current information is that you say - “Run a stereo signal out of my HX Stomp with an amp model to the FOH, and a mono signal to my amp on stage without modeling”. You cannot be running a “stereo” signal out of your Stomp, because as you’re already aware, any stereo signal hitting the front of the amp block is automatically collapsed to mono, therefore your output is dual mono. Also, “Currently I have the SEND L/R going to the FOH but its a mono signal, because as soon as I put a amp model…” Again, as you know, this is due to tapping the signal chain after the amp. It’s physics, you cannot change that. You mention paths A and B it would help by posting a copy of the HX Stomp preset you are using for folks to check out. It may make more sense to be able to see the settings. Sadly, it won’t be me, as I cannot get access to the studio right now - currently under 10 inches of fresh snow. Grrrr! EDIT: Hmm… I have just re-read the OP. Judging by the info supplied you will never get a stereo result. Anything hitting an amp/cab block will be flattened to mono, plus anything going to your stage amp will become mono once it hits the jack socket in, unless of course you have a stereo amp, which I seriously doubt.
  11. Hi, I found this in less than 2 minutes - there is even a preset that can play around with and modify to your own ends. Basically, you need a SEND block, which will be the feed to your amp, before the amp block then - that goes to the final output to the FOH. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  12. Ye gods - this is like pulling teeth. You wanted CONFIRMATION of the information, which I had previously supplied to you, and that was a direct cut and paste from the Line 6 Knowledge base - it states:- From the HX EFFECTS FAQ page: Does HX Effects have an audio interface? No. It's designed for your pedalboard. It will send and receive MIDI data over USB, however. So, the CONFIRMATION from an official source was not a GOOD thing? This is borderline insanity. It’s starting to travel down the same sort of wormhole you started back in October when you said you had bought a new HX Effects and failed to understand how stereo inputs work. That was fun - not! I fail to see how my response, and a similar one from @codamedia, could be confusing. Both of us explained that in order record any audio from your HXFX into a DAW, you need to use a dedicated stereo audio interface to capture any sound created in your HXFX, up to and including the onboard synth pads. In fact I did actually mention the 3 note and 4 OSC generators. Is that too confusing? I also pointed out that, as the HXFX is NOT an audio interface, in order to use it with a DAW it has to be treated like any other outboard multi-fx unit. Please, research how to connect external audio effect processors to you particular DAW. Ah, yes - I’m one of those people who use a Helix as an audio interface, and have used it daily like that since 2015. I must be afflicted with actually knowing what I’m doing with this stuff. I have come to the conclusion this an exercise in total futility.
  13. Hi, again. Yesterday, you contacted me by a PM when I thought that I had clarified the fact that the HX Effects doesn’t work as an audio interface and eventually pointed you to this answer:- From the HX EFFECTS FAQ page: Does HX Effects have an audio interface? No. It's designed for your pedalboard. It will send and receive MIDI data over USB, however. So, to be quite totally clear- you are wrong to think that your HXFX will work as an audio interface. That’s a fact! Asking the same question over and over will not provide a different result! As for using the HXFX in conjunction with a DAW, you should treat it exactly as you would any other outboard multi-fx processor. If you are using a hardware synth, connect it to your Effects and take the L/R outputs from there to the inputs of a dedicated audio interface. This would be the same technique if you wanted to record some of the self generated (eg 3 note or 4 OSC generator) synth noises directly from your HXFX into your DAW. If you want to play a “soft synth” through your HXFX, then you will need to route the dry audio from the synth out of your Interface, into the FX then back into a stereo channel in your DAW, in a similar fashion to using an FX Loop on an amp. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  14. Hi, To be able to see and use the new models in the latest firmware via HX Edit then your version number of HX Edit should match the version number of the Firmware that you have installed. Having said that, the current Firmware is 3.80 and due to some issues on Apple Silicon computers the Editor software has been patched and is now V3.82. Download and install the latest HX Edit and you should be able to use the new amps. There is a Sticky Thread which explains this on the first page of this forum. Also a Factory Reset is required after a firmware update. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  15. Hi. Hmm… that’s not quite correct. If you care to check the HX One Owner’s Manual you will find on the Contents List for page 11 there is a section headed - Saving/Naming a Preset. On page 11 there are 5 bullet points that take you through the procedure of naming and saving a preset. Click the link below. https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3fae3a65303a4bdd590/application/pdf/HX One Owner's Manual - English .pdf Here’s a video of a guy showing how to rename a preset on the HX One. Hope this helps/makes sense. Happy New Year
  16. Hmm… maybe a little late with the contribution - this thread started life way back in 2016, with the last comment before yours being posted in 2018. You never know though, someone, somewhere, may still be trying to figure this stuff out, this far down the road. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  17. Hi, You didn’t mention what audio interface you are using to get your guitar signal in and out of Cubase, but this info is from the Helix Native 3.80 Pilot’s Guide page 10. NOTE: When utilizing your DAW track’s “Input Monitoring” feature, you’ll want to be sure to disable any “Direct Monitoring” signal on your audio interface (many interfaces offer an optional function that routes your input signal directly to its outputs, without going through the DAW software). This way you’ll hear only the input signal fed through the Helix Native plugin. See your audio interface’s documentation for details. It maybe worth looking at the guide available here: https://line6.com/data/6/0a00051afef2673cd2e8a197b/application/pdf/Helix Native Pilot's Guide 3.80 - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.
  18. Hi, I noted that this is your first post after recently acquiring your HX Stomp XL, so I am going to save a lot of typing by pointing you to this video, which is the complete beginners guide to Snapshots on the XL. You also might like to spend some time going through the HX Stomp XL 3.80 Owner's Manual, which is full of really helpful information (even for folk who don't like manuals). https://line6.com/data/6/0a00051afe12673ccd29b29f5/application/pdf/HX Stomp XL 3.80 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.
  19. Hi, Well, it was a very old post, but there was another link provided by @roscoe5 which takes you to this freebie. https://www.celestionplus.com/free-download/ Hope this helps/makes sense.
  20. Hi, again, A couple of thing here would seem to indicate this is more likely a user error issue rather than defective hardware. For example, say that a Factory Reset restores the Tap function, and in your second post you also mention the RH foot switch functions as expected. plus you said that it works perfectly until you load your presets. I’m a Helix floor user and not a HX One owner, but in here we have a saying along the lines of when weird stuff starts to happen, perform a factory reset, and if that doesn’t fix it, do a clean install of the latest firmware. Those two options will generally blow out any bugs. A reset seems to return your HX to a functioning device, until you load your presets. I’m not familiar with all the functions and global settings in the HX One, but it must be a setting within your presets that is creating the issue. I’m really not quite sure what is happening but I did find this video about a misunderstanding of how the Tap and Flux feature works, as it is not really clearly explained in the manual - take a look to see if it makes any sense to you and the issue you are experiencing. If you feel you have a defective unit, it is covered by warranty for 12 months from the purchase date. This means you could swap it for a brand new box. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  21. Hi, As noted in the post above, from @jiml6, please see the HX One Owner's Manual - available to download here: https://line6.com/data/6/0a002026003567648f05c4097/application/pdf/HX One Owner's Manual - English .pdf Then in the section named Settings View on page >28< in the Settings View Options it mentions that Page 4 - Knob3 is where you can control the On/Off option for the TAP flash function. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  22. Hi, No problem. Thinking that HX Edit was a "one for all" HX editing solution, is just one of those things that could easily have confused many of us regulars. I have to admit that I also initially thought that HX Edit would be needed, but I had only recently had a quick glance at the manual, while looking up something else, and spotted that the HX One had its own librarian/editor. At least advising a new user to RTM is aways a good idea, even if they think they don't really need to check it out. Regards
  23. Hi, The best approach is to grab a pdf copy of the HX One Owner’s Manual here: https://line6.com/data/6/0a002026003567648f05c4097/application/pdf/HX One Owner's Manual - English .pdf on page 4 there is a paragraph entitled “Manage, Backup, & Restore HX One”. You will also need the “HX One Librarian app”, which you can find here: https://line6.com/software/ Under the “Choose Software” drop down, select “HX One Librarian”, then from “Choose OS” select the operating system your computer uses. Click the “Go” button, on the next page you can download the required software to help you manage your presets over USB. Have fun! Hope this helps/makes sense.
  24. Hi, For equalising input levels between different instruments you might want to take a look at this - not cheap, but very reliable. https://www.lehle.com/lehle-3at1-sgos And here is an explanation @ 1:20 Hope this helps/makes sense.
  25. Hi Jeff, Welcome to Helix, but even if there was a file chopper that you could process your library of POD HD500X presets through, you probably wouldn’t even get close with the resulting sounds. The Helix and it’s audio engine are a completely different animal. I fell into the trap of trying to copy some of my old HD 500 tones, by loading them into the POD HD Editor and copying the settings across into HX Edit - an exercise in utter futility. Life’s too short for that sort of stuff. I think you should read this from way back in 2015. Hope this helps/makes sense.
