Hi, Well, it seems that regular contributor @SaschaFranck knows about it, and is still not happy with the results of the update. Check the spelling on the Soldano model. See here: - https://thegearforum.com/threads/helix-3-82-release-notes-anyone-have-them.7178/ Hope this helps/makes sense (probably not!)

Resizing Window - accessing lower right corner
datacommando replied to msalada's topic in Helix Native
Hi, First off, just so you know, I’m a Mac user and ditched ProTools many, many years back. Having said that, when seeking assistance from Forum users it's a really good idea to supply as much information as possible regarding the computer and operating system version and the version of HX Native. Anyhow, a couple of things spring to mind. One - IIRC, there is the option to "Override High DPI Scaling" somewhere in the PT preferences. You could try turning that off or, secondly, go to you computer display settings and check that it is not set to something higher than 100%. Try different screen size options. That’s about all I have to suggest on this one. Maybe someone else can chime in with an idea. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Can the HX EDITOR be downloaded to an epad or iPhone IOS system
datacommando replied to db0691's topic in Helix
I am sure that the editor cannot be downloaded and will not work on IOS system. As noted above - 10 years down the road - don’t hold your breath. This idea has been done to death, both in these pages, and over on TGP, but you also have to remember that the communication between HX Edit and the device runs over USB2. Forget BlueTooth and Wireless - those are not built into the HX hardware. IT AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
HX Stomp : Load Preset but Change only Amp Block/Model via midi?
datacommando replied to nrkorsakov's topic in Helix
Hi, again, As you seem determined to build some sort of MIDI control unit, then go ahead and do it, but be aware of the limitations of MIDI implementation on HX Stomp hardware. There is simple Preset and Snapshot Recall, Block Bypass, Parameter Control, Tempo Sync via MIDI, plus MIDI CC. There is no facility to use SysEx. You can find a full list of MIDI Controls here: https://helixhelp.com/tips-and-guides/universal/midi Your HX Stomp is a small self contained controller, to which many users are known to have added external MIDI controller boxes, such as the Morningstar MC6 (that have external foot switches rather than knobs), but the fact remains there is no way to change/swap out (via MIDI) any FX, Amps, Cabs, etc., within a signal path. You can do lots of this stuff using Snapshots, but the Amp or Effect you wish to change must already be in the loaded signal path. You might want to have a read through the HX Stomp 3.80 Owner’s Manual for more information on what is, and isn’t, feasible with your device. If not, plug in your soldering station and let us all know when you’ve cracked it. https://line6.com/data/6/0a00051afdda673cccdb61c9c/application/pdf/HX Stomp 3.80 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense. Good luck. -
HX Stomp : Load Preset but Change only Amp Block/Model via midi?
datacommando replied to nrkorsakov's topic in Helix
Hi, You may be over thinking this. Or, even looking down the wrong end of the telescope. What I would recommend you should do is create a preset with a basic amp and cab including any of the fx you wish to use to work with. Name and save the preset into a spare slot. Now duplicate that preset into several consecutive slots. Go back and change the amp/cab model to whatever you require in each of the duplicate presets and name them to suit - eg: Fender, Vox, Marshall, JC120, Matchless, etc. Next set your HX Stomp into Preset mode and use FS1 & FS2 to scroll up and down between your customised presets to audition the same effects, but using different amp cab setups. No MIDI needed. Also note that different amps can respond very differently to the same effects, especially overdrive and distortion blocks, which is one of the main reasons there are so many variations available. It seems you are trying to find a solution to a non existent problem. Your HX Stomp already is a “virtual amp switcher”. Hope this helps /makes sense. -
Hi, It might be useful to read through the HX Edit Pilot’s Guide 3.80 > pages 27-29 - Creating & Restoring Complete Device Backups, and Extracting Files from a Backup. You can access the guide by clicking on the Question Mark icon in the lower left corner of the HX Edit GUI window, from where you can download a pdf of the information. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Oh, yes they do work - it’s the whole point of HX products. If you are failing to get any sound out of your unit, it is more than likely that you have something connected incorrectly. To save me from lots of typing, have a look at this video from the splendid young Mr. Cordy who will guide you through importing and using IR files to your HX Stomp XL. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, When seeking assistance from Forum users it's a really good idea to supply as much information as possible regarding the computer and operating system you are using. It is also very helpful to tell us exactly which 2 knobs don’t work anymore. As this thread is discussing an issue that occurred after updating to v.3.80 firmware, then, if your situation arose after updating, did you follow the instructions in the Release Notes about performing a Factory Reset and reinstalling from your backup file? A reset and restore will generally clear any glitches created during the update procedure. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Helix Floor USB signal possible to use with another interface?
datacommando replied to prskier17's topic in Helix
Hi, It would appear that the “old-school” option would be the best way to go in this instance, as the Solid State Logic 2+ doesn’t have a S/PDIF connection available. Good info about the Windows aggregation “trick” - that’s definitely going to help a few users in here. Regards -
How to use correctly the line6 HELIX output on a pc
datacommando replied to AliaS_21's topic in Helix
Hi, Since 2015 I have used my Helix floor unit as the main audio interface with my Mac running LogicPro with no latency issues. The way to do this is to connect your monitor speakers to your Helix LT and this should eliminate the latency. Until early this year I had my Tannoy Reveal 802 powered speakers connected via the XLR Helix outputs (now using Kali Audio IN-8 v2) - this is the way to go. I would also recommend recording at 48kHz sample rate, unless you really do need to run at 96kHz. You might want to check out the Helix LT 3.80 Owner’s Manual > page 72-76 > USB Audio, which explains Hardware/Software monitoring. https://line6.com/support/manuals/helixlt The earlier v3.0 version is available in French and should contain the same information as it hasn’t changed. Hope this helps/makes sense.

In that case, you should follow the link provided by @brue58skiin the post above. It should take you to the page for Craig Anderton's Big Book Of Helix Tips & Tricks - it contains some real in depth information which will provide insights into things that you may never have realised were possible with a Helix. Buy the book and gain some real knowledge. Hope this helps/makes sense *waves back* (waving - not drowning!)

Simple solution - bypass using HX Edit for the download, and go for a local install using the Line 6 Updater app, or Line 6 Control. A “Login Failure” is not a bug in the Firmware, most likely a glitch.

Amps Greyed-out in Helix Native after 3.80 update
datacommando replied to buddyowens's topic in Helix
I really cannot comprehend what you have been trying to do, especially with all this mentioning of: “The instructions say that there is a Global settings issue with Silicon” and “Boot Failure crap when trying to update with Central. I had to use the old Line 6 Updater to even get past boot failure” Really? To install Helix Native you definitely do not need to use Central, or Line 6 Updater. Here are the genuine instructions for installation from the Helix Native 3.80 download page. How do I update to 3.80? Updating Helix Native Before updating Helix Native, it is highly recommended that you export a preset/setlist bundle. Click the gear icon in the lower left, select the Presets/IRs tab, and then click Export Bundle. Some hardware compatibility modes (HX Stomp, HX Stomp XL, HX Effects) do not have this feature as they have only one setlist. In these cases, at the top of the preset list, click the yellow EXPORT to export the setlist. Quit your DAW and download and install Helix Native 3.80: Helix Native 3.80 (macOS): https://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=12909 Helix Native 3.80 (Windows): https://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=12911 Open your DAW and open an instance of Helix Native. OPTIONAL: The only way to hear 3.80's new factory presets is to restore them. IMPORTANT! MAKE SURE YOU'VE EXPORTED A BUNDLE (OR ANY IMPORTANT SETLISTS) FIRST, AS RESTORING FACTORY SETLISTS WILL ERASE ALL YOUR WORK! Click the gear icon in the lower left, select the Presets/IRs tab, and then click Restore Factory Setlists. Click Yes. Please take note of the things in red text. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi, I don’t understand why this happened, but I also don’t understand why you wanted to update to v.3.80 as it is mostly new amps and cabs and the only item for HXFX users is the Teardrop Bass Q Wah? You could try and revert back to v3.71 in an attempt to resurrect your hardware. Hope this helps/makes sense.
-
Nope, not a bug! It works fine for me - but I’m using a Mac. Oh, if you don’t update, you’re missing a treat - a couple of heavy duty much requested amps inside. Check your computer settings.
-
Hi, Dual amp and dual IRs indicate that you have split your signal path into parallel processing, with an amp and cab IR in each path. If that is the case you might find it helpful to read this post regarding split/merge paths. It save me from lots of typing. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Yeah, it certainly is bold - Never ask for serial numbers! It could appear to be a scam. Not like anyone in their right mind would ever reveal their serial no. It may be a wiser choice, if you did what all others do when seeking a lower priced copy of HXN, simply post a message in here asking if anyone has a copy for sale. You might want to edit this post to suit. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Rob, You say that you cannot get your HX Rack to connect over USB to update the firmware to v3.80. Although you say that it is a pre-owned unit, you didn’t mention if you had ever been able to get it to hook up to your computer via USB. If you did have 2 way communication then it may be that it is a glitch. Also, you say you are using a Windows PC - some PC boxes have issues if the USB is using one of the ports on the front - if that’s the case, try patching the USB cable to one of the ports on the rear of the PC. Also, if you had a problem trying to update from HX Edit and it failed, then HX Edit has to be completely shutdown before attempting to run the Line6 Updater or it will block the connection. Furthermore, you could try using Line 6 Central for the update as it supposed to be optimised for the purpose. Anyhow, as you haven’t heard back from Customer Support (they are closed for Thanksgiving) try following the instructions in the link posted below. NOTE: HX Edit cannot connect to a HX device that is in a “Failed State”. Also there was a major update to the Helix Core in v2.80 firmware and you may experience the installation taking longer than expected and appearing to have failed part way through - this is normal and is mentioned in the firmware release notes. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, When weird stuff starts to happen, especially after an update, you should try a factory reset. In fact, it’s part of the information included in the Release Notes for the firmware. Then restore from the backup you made prior to the update - especially the global settings. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, I have various acoustic guitar IRs, including some Taylor and Martin from Selah Sound. If you have a look at the Selah demo videos available you will notice that all of their IR files are loaded into Helix Native with the level set at 0dB. I have just spent ages trawling the web, because IIRC, I’m sure that I have seen someone recommending taking the IR level for this brand to +3dB, but hey, it’s whatever sounds good to you. Anyhow, regarding your signal flow, you could try this. Guitar in > Acoustic IR > Studio Tube Pre > LA Comp > Dynamic Room Reverb. In my case, I also have a Parametric EQ, Chorus and Delay, between the comp and verb, that can be switched in to taste if needed. It may also be worth checking out some of the 3 Sigma Audio acoustic IRs. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Volume pedal after amp - switching channels issue...
datacommando replied to mtnman82's topic in Helix
Oops! My apologies, I seem to have misled you about a legacy Auto Wah. I was confusing that particular effect with one someone else recently asked about - the Auto Swell. Doh! I found this old thread about auto wah from way back in 2016 - check it for any suggestions/clues which may help you. After I checked the Legacy filters in Helix, I think you might also try playing around with the Tron Up, which Is inspired by the Mu-Tron® III envelope follower in the "Up" position. Part auto-wah, part triggered filter, it's all about wacky. Experiment with all this stuff - you can’t damage it. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Which headphonesdo you suggest for the Helix Floor?
datacommando replied to ullo1955's topic in Helix
Hi, A lot of this sort of thing comes down to personal preferences - everyone will have their own favourites. In your case, you mention “not to disturb anyone”, that would make me point you in the direction of the “closed back” option, in an attempt to control any “audio spill”. Further to that, you don’t mention what budget you’re considering - this can make a big difference. There are many, many threads in here all asking for suggestions for headphones - it could take weeks if you went through all the listed products. Ultimately only you can decide. I have a few sets of cans, but I generally find that the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x are usually close to hand and therefore are the first ones picked up. They are a bit of an studio standard for closed back phones. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Volume pedal after amp - switching channels issue...
datacommando replied to mtnman82's topic in Helix
Hi, You need to adjust your Global settings to reflect the pedal position on all your presets. From the manual:- If you want a Volume Pedal or Wah to maintain its position when switching presets, set this to “Global.” Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: Never had a Spider, but it might nbe worth checking out the Legacy Effects section which has an Auto Wah from the older Line6 stuff.
