  1. Hi, There are no Line staff here and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums” This link is where you need to go to have any hope of it been seen by anyone from Line 6: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/index Before posting any new ideas, please do a search to see if it's already been listed. Multiple requests for the same thing will thin out the votes. Also, post your ideas one at a time. Many users don’t vote for combined suggestions. You should use this thread to let other users know what your suggestions are, with links to IdeaScale, so they can vote on it if they wish. Hope this helps/makes sense.

  4. Opinions are like belly buttons - everybody has one - and you appear to be quite happy with what the HD500 delivers for you - that's fine. I started out using Line 6 gear right back with the old red kidney bean POD, moving along to POD XT Live, then the POD HD500 before the HELIX Floor and getting side tracked along the way by Boss GT stuff. My HD 500 is right here gathering dust and when I first got my Helix back in 2015 I did patch it in simply to use the Dimension effect because at that time the Helix didn't have the Legacy effects available. For me there is no comparison - here I am today -a very happy Helix owner and it's a world away from the earlier stuff. - but it's whatever flips your switch. Enjoy.
  5. LMFAO The answer to that is obviously - Yes! You create a Snapshot - that becomes the base, then simply duplicate the Snapshot and modify whatever parameters you wish to change in the duplicate - (while we’re at it - up to 64 parameters per Snapshot, but you need to select which ones). Rinse and repeat. See Helix 3.0 Owner’s Manual - Rev F - English - Pages 45 - 52 Snapshots. https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f041b611d61cac763b/application/pdf/Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev F - English .pdf FYI - the 3 people who bothered to take the time to respond to your question are long time users of this stuff, and therefore, if we find it difficult to comprehend, then you’re likely going to end up on your own, without a little attitude readjustment. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  6. Oh, well if you're talking about "the unit", then it's a big help to anyone trying to assist to know exactly which hardware device you have!
  7. Hi, As noted by @silverhead in the post above, if you don't select any OS option from the dropdown menu - it will still take you to the compatible software. Also if you had simply selected Mac OS X then clicked "GO", on the download page it actually states:- Compatible OS: Mac OS X, macOS Sierra, macOS High Sierra, macOS Mojave, macOS Catalina, macOS Big Sur, macOS Monterey, macOS Ventura Hope this helps/makes sense.
  8. Hi, If a picture is worth a thousand words - here are several thousand picture in a couple of videos. plus, Hope this helps/makes sense.
  9. Hi, The reason that you always see only version 1.0 is because you probably also made a selection in the “Choose Hardware” menu. This is not necessary - Helix Native is a software only item and should be selected exactly as I mentioned in my post. Furthermore page 4 of the Helix Native Pilot’s Guide has a picture showing the download page. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  10. Hi, Go to the top of this page and click on “DOWNLOADS”. On the next page select Helix Native from under the “Choose Software” drop down menu item. Next select your computer Operating System from the “Choose OS” Dropdown menu. Now, click the “Go” button. The next page is where you will find the Helix Native download. From the section named Helix Native version 3.61 click on the blue button named “GET DOWNLOAD”. The final page is the EULA, simply click on the “CLICK AND DOWNLOAD BUTTON”. When the download finishes, run the installer - done! That’s all there is to it - quite simple, and not frustrating at all. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  11. Hi, This could happen if you have downloaded a CustomTone preset that was created using a newer version of the firmware than is in your hardware unit. if you haven’t already done so, update your firmware to version 3.60 now. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  12. You may want to read the HX Stomp 3.0 Owner’s Manual- Rev D - English > Page 7 - Item 10, below the picture showing the EXP 1/2 FS 4/5 Input socket: ”Connect an expression pedal here to adjust a wide variety of parameters.* With a Y-cable (tip-ring-sleeve 1/4" jack, split to two tip-sleeve 1/4" jacks), two expression pedals can be connected. Alternatively, you can add one (or with a Y-cable, two) external footswitches to access additional stomps, presets, snapshots, etc. (FS4=tip, FS5=ring). To set this jack’s function(s), see page 52. By default, this jack is set to accommodate a Mission SP1-L6H Line 6 Expression Pedal, which has a toe switch that toggles between EXP 1 (Wah/Pitch or Poly Wham) and EXP 2 (Volume/Pan). For external footswitches, the momentary (unlatched) type should be used.” Hope this helps/makes sense.
  13. Hi, See the reply from @codamedia in this thread: Hope this helps/makes sense.
  14. Hi, If you have the input on your Helix set to MULTI it will accept audio from Guitar, AUX and Variax simultaneously. The issue is the Aux in is rated at 10kΩ input for an active-pickup equipped guitar or bass. Suppose you could stick your guitar into the regular Guitar In and the 1/8” to 1/4” from the phone to the AUX in on Helix. IIRC, the 10k in is like a mixer input, or a Send/Return. The Aux in on Helix has never been specifically recommended for jacking in a phone or MP3 player, but AFAIK, the output impedance of phones, MP3 players etc. is usually in the range of several ohms. It’s one of those give a try and if nothing blows up - great!. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  15. Hi, I have used the Apple Camera Connection Kit to hook up to an iPad for getting audio in and out - it utilises the USB. I had this working with GarageBand and AmpliTube on the iPad - no problem. Oh, yeah - I keep forgetting that I also have one of those IK Multimedia iRig gizmos to hook up from guitar direct into the iPad. I haven’t used either of those items for a couple of years but both worked for me. IRig is the cheaper option, lots of different versions. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irig2/ Hope this, helps/makes sense.
  16. Hi, As mentioned by @Schmalle in the post above. (Standard cut and paste guidance response) Before posting any new ideas, please do a search to see if it's already been listed. Multiple requests for the same thing will thin out the votes. Also, post your ideas one at a time. Many users don’t vote for combined suggestions. Only then should you use the “Helix Ideascale Community Submissions” thread in this forum to let other users know what your suggestions are, with links to IdeaScale, so they can vote on it if they wish. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  17. Yes, I got that email too. I had a quick look, but didn’t bother to do the survey as I don’t want 25% off things in Marketplace because I don’t use Marketplace. To get 25% discount would entail buying something I don’t want. No not for me. I’m surprised that whoever posted the pic hasn’t also put a red line around the “Removable storage option”. See my previous post above. Considering how much time the Helix spent in development, I won’t hold my breath waiting for HX2.
  18. Hi, Ahhh, if you didn’t know about multiple assignments to a single FS, maybe you have not encountered the Command Centre. Using the Command Centre allows to assign virtually anything, to anything. See the HX Effects 3.0 Owner’s Manual > Page 41 > Command Centre: https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a411710a6112a67116f0b/application/pdf/HX Effects 3.0 Owner's Manual - Rev C - English .pdf Also - here is a video of a live stream from a few days back. It shows Command Centre in use with a Helix Rack Controller, but this is the same technique for all HX products. Start from about 1 minute in:- Hope this helps/makes sense. (Still don’t understand why you need a coloured LED to tell you that the sound is louder, but, hey!)
  19. Ah, in my original reply I actually wrote that you should ensure that you didn’t inadvertently have the Noise Gate on the Input engaged. I deleted that because chopping off the signal prior to hitting the reverb would not cut off the trails, and as you rightly point out, there isn’t a gate at the end. When weird stuff starts to happen, I usually suggest a Factory Reset, but in this case before doing that I will ask you to go to the Global Settings in your HX Stomp and make sure that under the Globals > Preferences > knob1 > Bypass Type is set to DSP. This should make your Delay and Reverb trails decay naturally. If this doesn’t cure the problem - a Factory Reset should. Hope this helps/makes sense EDIT: Jason has a video:
  20. I’m not sure how you could get this wrong - keep the Mix below 50% and the Trails On. Dynamic Hall Reverb - Decay Time - 0.1 ~ 45 seconds, or infinity. Dynamic Plate Reverb - Decay Time - 0.1 ~ 45 seconds, or infinity. Dynamic Room Reverb - Decay Time - 0.1 ~ 3.0 seconds Read about all the reverb control features and options here: https://helixhelp.com/models?categoryId=6 Hope this helps/makes sense.
  21. Hi, If you want to use a single compressor that can swap from regular to higher volume for solos you don’t need to add a second instance, using up another block. You should use Snapshots - that is what they are designed to do. Plus, because Snapshots can be named on HX units with scribble strips, there is no need to change the colour of the foot-switch. But why would you need to change the colour - surely you will be able to hear it is a louder setting! You didn’t say which HX device you are using, but the technique is the same across the range. Here is a quick example with a Helix floor. See the Owner’s Manual for your device for details of creating and using Snapshots. Hope this helps/makes sense.
  22. O.K. Let's stop dicking around with this. Here's a preset that runs your Bass (input on AUX IN) through a bunch of stuff (some stereo) on Path 1A out to XLR panned Centre - Split to Path 1B uses a switched off Gain block to collapse the signal to mono and sends that though the 1/4" jack panned 100% Left. Path 2A does a similar thing with the Guitar input into some stereo FX and out to the XLR panned Centre - Split to 2B uses a switched off Gain block to collapse the signal to mono and sends that though the 1/4" jack panned 100% Right. Play around with this as much as you want but work on a copy because something is bound to get pushed over the edge. Hope this helps/makes sense. Stereo_Mono-Out.hlx
  23. O.K. Now I’m really confused, because you have not mentioned the use of Return 3/4 previously. In your original post you mentioned using Return 1/2 as an input for your Stick type gizmo. You still haven’t said what this mysterious instrument is? It might help to know. I did suggest previously that if this Sticky thing has active pups then you could use the AUX IN for bass and use the Guitar in for the guitar part of the Stick thing. Result - Return 1/2 are freed up. NOTE: Ah, now I recall, you are the guy who posted about why some blocks were greyed out on your unit, and if I recall correctly, you were advised to get familiar with the device by checking the Helix Owner’s Manual. I also commented - “I suggest you might want to reassess your approach to how you set up a preset.” From these current posts I appears you haven’t done that, and if there is a difficult way to do something then you will find it. Sometimes when you’re in a hole, it is wise to stop digging. Please take time to figure out what is and what is not feasible - Helix can perform som amazing tricks, but be aware there are limitations. The link I provided earlier is to a guy who uses a Chapman Stick and a NS/Stick, and he was kind enough to post a preset to CustomTone to help others - maybe you should check it out. https://line6.com/customtone/tone/5086742/ Hope this helps/makes sense.
  24. Hi, This is exactly what I mean by confusing. What you are trying to achieve is really complicated. Yes, you will require a bass amp and guitar amp on Path 1A & 1B, because two those are going to the FOH desk and phones, but also consider that even though both of those paths are stereo all the way to the XLR outputs, when each XLR is essentially mono - either left or right. In fact using the left channel only is MONO out. This is when you would use the stereo bleed (panning) you mention, otherwise you would have mono left and right, negating the choice of stereo processing. The reason I mentioned 100/100 is so that each channel (2A & 2B) would be sent 100% bass to the bass amp and 100% guitar signal to the guitar amp, and as these audio signal are going to “real” amps, there would be little point in including modelled amps in those paths. Do you really want to bass part of the signal chain feeding a guitar amp and vice versa? From your description of a “Chapman Stick-like instrument” - do you mean an NS/Stick, because AFAIK they have Active EMG Pickups and the Aux In on Helix is for use with active pups. Anyhow, now my head hurts with this, but I do know that other “Sticky” folks have had success using Helix. Check this: Hope this helps/makes sense. I’m going to get drunk now!
  25. Hi, Well, this is a challenge. It would help to know what HX device you are connecting to? I would guess Helix Floor, but you didn't say. I also get the idea of having 2 different paths, one for bass and the second for the melody and all of this in stereo. Fine so far, but if you are using a Helix why use the Return 1/2 for input when you have the option of using the Guitar In and Aux In connections to run 2 full stereo paths direct to the XLR Out balanced left and right? This then feeds the FOH and your IEMs or headphones. Now this is where it really starts to confuse me. You want a duplicate of Paths 1A &1B running on Paths 2A & 2B. That should be possible, but it doesn't require stereo, (or amps). I can't see any way that it would work, sending 90% stereo to the left and 75% right. It simply doesn't make any sense. The bass and guitar amps a probably mono anyway. Simply Pan Path 2A to the LEFT 100% and Path 2B to the RIGHT 100% = Bass Left, Melody Right. Hope this helps/makes sense.
