Hmm… First post - and maybe, a little controversial to state “how you were treated”. The replies given were to assist not berate, and ultimately point out the truth, that HX Edit is quite simply not available for the stated operating system. No one here can be responsible for the fact that the OP decided to invest in hardware that was incompatible with his computer system, Mavericks 10.9.5, which FYI had it’s final security upgrade in July 2016 - three years on from it’s original release. Take into account the HX Stomp was released in November 2018 with a list price of $839/£558, and the OP mentions buying the HX in January 2020, (possibly not new?). Surely you are familiar with the term “caveat emptor”. A little research never goes amiss, and the hardware he purchased is not rendered totally useless by not having a software editor/librarian, it just makes life more difficult that it should be. Even now there are pre-owned/refurbished iMac desktop models on Fleabay for similar prices to pre-owned Stomps. Welcome to the Helix forum, we do try to help, and hopefully this doesn’t disappoint you too much - it’s a lot less savage than TGP.

Good to know that you are up and running - hopefully from now on you can update without incident.

Hi, Yes, that used to be correct. The Core operating system of the Helix “brain” was seriously modified and improved in version 2.80. The installation would appear to experience a “boot failure” mid way though the update, while the new core was loading. This prompted many posts here along the lines of “update bricked my Helix”. Essentially this was because people had failed to read the Release Notes which pointed out this occurrence. Since then the firmware update installation has been “almost” fully automated, and since v.3.0 the release note have included this statement: My Helix/HX is at version X.XX. Can I go straight to 3.15? Yes, but note that if you're starting from 2.80 or lower, the update will appear to happen twice. This is normal. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, again, Once more you have posted to a thread that is completely unrelated to you question. You really need to start a thread that is pertinent to the particular issue in order to stand a chance of finding a possible solution. Anyhow, let’s progress this a little. Simply stating “my the looper play back is super quiet” is not very informative. I gather from your previous post that you have a Helix LT, although all HX units contain various looping options, but they all have a “playback” parameter to get it to mix better with the live signal. You need to be more specific about if this volume drop is happening on one, or all, of these. There could be an issue in another area of your signal chain causing this. At this point, without more concise information, the best thing you can do is post the preset concerned here, in the hope that some one else is willing to try and troubleshoot the patch. Hope this helps/makes sense.

How to download Factory setlist after 3.15 update?

Hi, If you go into YouTube and type “helix 3.15 update free presets” into the search option, it will return about five or six freebies. -
How to download Factory setlist after 3.15 update?
datacommando replied to jesuscares's topic in Helix
Hi, That would be because there are no new factory presets in this update. It seems that the team were too busy creating all the other goodies that were included. Yet more toys to come in v3.20, not sure about things so mundane as “factory presets” though. If there actually were any factory presets worth checking out without losing your user presets, you could make a backup of everything in your unit, then restart and reset the hardware to the factory default and wiping you’re own stuff. Then simply reload your own preset lists using the restore from backup procedure in HX Edit. It a seems a little futile really. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
From the release notes on the Helix Native download page: Compatible OS: Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Windows 11 There is also a "Sticky" at the top of this page named "Windows 11 Compatibility", which states: Plugins that have been covered are Helix Native, Amp Farm and Pod Farm 2 against the DAWs Cubase, Pro Tools, Ableton, Studio One and Reaper. Although that hasn't been modified since October 2021. Hope this helps/makes sense

Hi, Firstly, to make the most of the HX Stomp and your JBL 305 monitors you really do need to have access to a computer. You don’t necessarily require any Digital Audio Workstation software to sculpt the tones, but you could take advantage of the HX Edit software to manage, modify and store your preset tones. Also, you need a computer to add IRs to your hardware, and to be able to update/upgrade your firmware - which often contains many bug fixes and extra goodies. O.K. In your current situation you will need to set up some sort of basic desktop system. First, hook up your powered 5” monitor speakers to the HX Stomp using TRS Balanced cables to allow you to actually hear what’s happening in the signal chain. Next plug your guitar into the Stomp. Now, using a blank preset, add either of the Stomp’s many available Marshall, or Fender Tweed amps models (you decide), along with the suggested Cab options. Place an overdrive block of your choice before the amp block, and also add a looper block before the drive. Now you can record a loop into the Stomp and while it plays back you can modify the amp tone to your liking using the amp controls and by changing any of the microphone options in the cab block, or changing through the various overdrive options, making note of how the tone changes. Sculpt away to your hearts content, until you achieve aural nirvana. Then, if you wish, add other fx (delay, reverb) to taste. When happy with the result, remove the looper block, and save the preset with a suitable name. Rinse and repeat for as many tones as you wish, until you run out of slots on your Stomp. Then - go out and buy a cheap computer simply to store a library of your myriad masterpiece presets which you have made. Yay! Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: As for speaker placement and volume, these are really things that only you can decide depending on your workspace.

It has been a much requested modification to the way the knobs function. It is almost hidden in and among the “Other Changes and Improvements” section of bullet points.

Test your ears! Helix or PodXT? New March 10th!

Hi Mister First in the Phonebook, You may not have noticed, but things have changed a little in here - mainly making things worse in the revamp. Anyhow, to edit your current, or previous post, click on the 3 small grey dots just above the date/time stamp. Not very intuitive, I know, but that’s the way it is now. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hmm… Well it appears that the “Helix developers” have already addressed this issue, to some extent. From the v3.15 Firmware Release Notes: Encoder ballistics have been improved. For parameters with hundreds of values, you can now go from Min to Max in a couple of turns If you would like the developers to revisit the encoder ballistics, you really need to follow the advice given by “PierM”, in the post above. ”You need to post this in http://line6.ideascale.com/” Hope this helps/makes sense.

This gets more and more crazy! I tried to post a reaction earlier today, and a message popped up to say that I had used all of my reactions for today. Seems we only allowed a few - so choose them well. Just clicked on the “Ha ha” reaction on your post, and now it works! Weird scenes inside the goldmine (as someone once said).

I did say this place could use a “spring clean”, but this is frankly appalling. At first it would not allow me to login on my iPad, then when I eventually managed to get in, the interface is totally screwy. It almost unusable on an iPad in landscape mode, only slightly better in portrait mode. Surely, someone must have checked how this runs in responsive mode on mobile devices. From bad to worse, but at least there are no more “guru” tags, which seemed to upset some users. I guess we’re all equal now. Jeez, what a shambles! EDIT: After eventually being able to make this post, I went back into the main forum, only to discover that I’m logged out there, but I can still return here and edit this post - absolute mayhem! Oh, yeah, anyone seen any emoji’s in here - thought not! :-(

I was wondering about that, but not having an XL to check makes it simply a guessing game. Looking at the OP’s screen shot, you can see that it is running as a super serial path, but I’m unsure if the input on the lower path can be changed for something other than the feed from the one above. The Stomp XL hardware has an “Aux In” option for keyboard, synth, drum machine etc. - possibly this lower path can accept input from there to be processed separately? Dunno, just a thought.

Yep, see above post from “themetallkid”. Simplicity works best. Studio Tube Pre-amp - LA Studio Compressor - Chorus - Delay - Reverb I use this setup for my acoustics, one is fitted with a Fishman Blend System, and another with K&K Pure Systems transducers, plus the others (nylon string, tenor guitar, resonator, banjo, mandolin etc,) with condenser microphones. Hope this helps/makes sense.

It works exactly as it should on my Helix floor running v3.15. All four modes - Off - Touch - Press - Touch+Press. When weird, or expected stuff happens - Factory reset! Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Oh, that one. As you are constructing a tone for that song, here’s a link to a “She Sells Sanctuary” patch, by Chad Huskey. It’s probably always best to create your own presets, but you may want to it use for comparison, reference or study. https://line6.com/customtone/tone/3817099/

Well, each setlist can have a preset tagged as 05B, so your not giving us much to go on here - there's 8 possibilities to choose from. Simply on the strength of saying you were using it as starting point for another patch then I'm going to guess this is one of the Factory Presets. As you're new to this I won't go through the full procedure of backing up your Helix, then using "Extract from Backup" to pull out the original Factory lists, or using "Restore from Backup" to simply replace the ones in your Helix - it would take too long. Therefore, please find attached both 05B presets from the Factory defaults. 05B Interstate Zed is from Factory 1 05B Chorus Crooner is from Factory 2 Remember - Aways work on a copy (copy first - mess second) Chorus Crooner.hlx Interstate Zed.hlx

Check this - But, also make a special note of this comment: My Helix/HX is at version X.XX. Can I go straight to 3.15? Yes, but note that if you're starting from 2.80 or lower, the update will appear to happen twice. This is normal. Hope this helps/makes sense.
