  1. link to IR https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1XgNa5vH3j1ZkVoTFJLQ241WTg/view?pref=2&pli=1
  2. There are some guys who use a Taylor 314 IR onto their guitar to give an approximation I've tried it and it sounds better than the Mooer pedal (but dropping your guitar into a bucket sounds better than the Mooer pedal in my opinion Download the IR put an EQ block next to it and an LA compressor after it and see how you go
  3. I do but bizarrely enough it comes from the Soldano Clean Go figure... sounds great though
  4. I also respectfully disagree with the caveat if you are changing amp and cab models a lot then Peters advice is bob on If you use one core amp and cab then as long as your FOH sound is equitable to your onstage sound then it is whatever suits you best I use 2 Fryette Powerstations into 2 Orange 1x12s for my onstage rig And XLRs into the FOH. I just like the way the valve amps react under the fingers and the drummer and bassist prefer them too The audience are used to hearing mixed up guitars so it makes no difference to them The good thing about Helix is it gives everyone the option to run the way they like
  5. I agree I think you've maybe misunderstood the UI
  6. I do think the Helix would benefit from less presets but spend a bit more time on them All units presets are what they are in terms of trying to display the features but if Glenn Delauneys patches were the factory presets I wonder if it would make a difference to people's initial perception of the Helix Old timers (like me I guess) look at the Helix like a virtual box of equipment that we can peice together If you are from a different background you might not know to stack a low gain tube screamer into a tube drive and feed the whole signal to a Marshall and a fender type amp And that's where presets are crucial
  7. Yeah that happened to us just last week Drunk woman fell over the L2t monitor and knocked out singers mic flying We found it underneath with the floor Tom She also landed on the singers TC helicon pedal and managed to delete one of the presets somehow I had a guy that fell on to the stage and snapped a micstand at the base Then nearly pulled the whole mixing desk off when he got in cables trying to get up. I physically threw him off the stage area I had a guy get on a table once and actually fell out of an open window I've had a whole crowd of people fall backwards into my area of the stage causeing my sm58 to smash me in her mouth breaking one of my front teeth in half You get the idea .. It can get rough out there :) it's not Sunday School
  8. Maybe you are a bit more pedestrian ... I've played in heavy rock tribute bands Red hot chilli peppers tributes Numerous stage invasions getting girls up on stage for dance contests Singers running from one side to the other Jumping on bands and tables etc Doesnt take much for someone to step on a volume pedal by accident
  9. I don't let the volume knob do anything to the XLRs out and just trim the gain in the M20d mixer I only use the volume knob for the backline
  10. I always have the pedal go from unity to +7db on the output block for soloing or popping out key phrases I've never really like solo switches I prefer to sweep the pedal until I get it right I never have it set as a volume pedal as chances are someone will step on it and kill my signal
  11. You write beautifully JimReally well laid out and articulated
  12. I run a similar set up except I split the path right at the end I send one through a dual cab 1x12 Celestion 80s to the FOH via the XLRS and one before the cabs to my power amps and onstage cabs via the 1/4 I use an eq block in front of the cabless path to knock off some of the hi end Sounds dreamy Happy to share the patch of you want it
  13. No need to apologise I learned something new because of it :)
  14. I do this Easiest way is to split just before the cabs Set the cab output to XLR Set the no cab output to 1/4 Job done (although I also shove an eq block in the no cab path for tweaking) Also for added usefulness set the big knob to 1/4 only to control only your backline volume (edit: as stated very clearly above)
  15. Change the sweep of the wah Around 40
  16. Sorry I missed that it was a physical amp not a modelled one ! I don't know what's real anymore ! :)
  17. Put the switch in then use the joystick to select what you want on If you are controlling multiple blocks with one foot switch then just tap it with your finger to select the on block as active (In a multiple footswitch You can choose which block you want to see ... Bypassed one = light off. Touch the footswitch with your finger and it will switch to the active block and put the led on)
  18. You can assign multiple blocks to one footswitch and do exactly what you describe just select the first drive and assign it to a footswitchThen joystick to the next drive and touch the footswitch and select merge and keep going till you are done It's important to have them in the same state (I.e. All enabled or all bypassed) as the footswitch will just switch from on to off when you select it (so if you have 2 on and 1 off it will reverse that to 2 off and 1 on) What you can do is assign one block to multiple footswitches So you can't assign another switch then to control them individually
  19. It's a global setting so you only need to do it once The output routing (I.e one out for 1/4 and one for xlr) is per preset My set up is two 1/4 into two power amps and 1x12s. I split and bypass the cab model for these outs and control them with the volume knob The XLRs use the cab models and are always at line level I use the exp pedal to go from 0 to plus 7db on both outputs for solo boost or key riffs
  20. Yup And set the volume control to just control the 1/4
  21. Just set up the at home preset ... (Copy of your gig one) with the multi out Easiest way In terms of the amp volume I set up the volume control to control my 1/4!back line and not the xlr out Find out where the volume is equal to plugging the bass in the front and then just mark the volume knob (it will be about 1 o clock)
  22. Does no one want to loop in a 50 quid delay pedal?
