  1. Not positive but it should be.
  2. Great idea! Voted for it.
  3. True, but if I were to sell my HD500X, I would transfer the model packs to that person to sweeten the deal. If I were shopping for a HD500X, I'd be looking for someone to do the same.
  4. I agree, don't skimp on the midi interface; go with m-audio. There are 128 patch location on the Vetta II; 64 factory and 64 user, all of which you can overwrite. Looks like you got a decent deal on your gear.
  5. You sound like the exact person Line 6 had in mind when they created the Amplifi, other than the Bluetooth thing. If you are interested in the HD500X route, there will probably be a boatload of used ones for sale, with model packs, very soon as a lot of people will be jumping on the Helix bandwagon and trying to come up with the cash.
  6. Okay, is it just me or was the cab list here a few posts ago and then disappeared?
  7. I'll take a look at what I've got and get back to you. Most of my patches were downloaded from CustomTone. As for amps, the Line 6 Big Bottom is awesome. They even brought it to the HD500X in the latest model packs. If you'd like some patches, pm me an email address and I'll share a Dropbox folder with 1665 of them. Patches are small so they only take up 8.31 MB total. Same goes for you oirfideach.
  8. No, but if you want to go the gift certificate route you would have to pay the full $1365 at once.
  9. I expect that I'll eventually end up FRFR or Stagesource with the Helix but I think it will also work great with the DT's using the simple work-arounds that have been suggested. Actually, I've been contemplating FRFR or Stagesource as another option for my HD500X for some time now anyways.
  10. 10-4. Maybe I'll run the HD500X in one of the effects loops.
  11. It's on my wishlist at Sweetwater buy I haven't pre-ordered yet. I think I've figured out a way to get it for approx. $1365 though. Sweetwater is offering this deal on their gift certificates where they'll add 10% to the gift certificate total. Of course, if you go this route, you can rule out financing (unless you're using a credit card to buy the gift certificate).
  12. Could be a play on the HX modeling ( HeliX ) or it could be the reverse and they took HX from the name Helix. Just a guess.
  13. This is going to look awesome sitting next to my HD500X that's plugged into a DT25, sitting next to my Vetta II Combo with FBV longboard!!! Plus in the future I'll be able to open my own Line 6 museum. You guys are great!
  14. The Sweetwater page for this is awesome!
  15. As I find out more about this, especially after reading the FAQ, the price is seeming very reasonable. There goes the PRS I was saving up for.
  16. Ouch. Guess I'll start saving up now and hope something magic happens around black friday. Like duncann said "it's inevitable".
  17. My serial number is 614252018111 and I purchased it on June 6, 2004, if that helps.
  18. Hopefully it's a few hundred bucks cheaper on the street price. Looks incredible though. 4 effects loops---sweet!
  19. I've owned my Vetta II combo since 2004. I even have the DT25 but my Vetta isn't going anywhere soon. First, I'd recommend the manual, addendum and preset chart, which are available here: http://line6.com/support/manuals/vettaii/ The longboard connects to the amp with an ethernet cable. I run my regular guitars into the input and my Variax guitar into the VDI port. That should be all. You can find patches on custom tone here: http://line6.com/customtone/browse/vettaii/ Enjoy, it's a great amp!!!
  20. For one, it doesn't make any sense to me for folks that don't have a touch screen. It would be kind of like having a Galaxy S5 without the touch screen where you'd have to use actual buttons to navigate the screens. Also, it doesn't seem to do anything that Win 7 can't do. I've been using Microsoft operating systems since the early DOS days and I was even a beta tester for Win NT. IMHO, they got it right with Win 98 SE, Win XP and Windows 7; the others were mediocre or outright failures.
  21. I'll wait until it's been out for a few months before I make a decision. Good to know that the Line 6 stuff appears to work on it though. Thanks for posting. I skipped the whole Win 8 thing after experiencing it while visiting my Grandmother; huge step backwards in my opinion. The company I work for, with approx. 9,000 employees, refuses to use Win 8. I'm not sure if they'll take the upgrade or not. Since my first experience with Win 8, I've told people that if Microsoft doesn't come out with something better, by the time I need a new computer, I'll switch to Mac (which would be my first Apple purchase ever).
  22. Hey, we're not looking for logical advice here, mister!!! BTW, My Vetta II has been perfect for the last 11 years. I did experience an issue with the DT25 head in the first year, which Line 6 fixed under warranty. It's ran good ever since. I'm glad I bought it from Sweetwater so it has the extra year of coverage, just in case.
  23. Wow, I always thought it was kind of flimsy. Maybe all of my normal cables are just really stiff.
  24. Had my 500 from 2004 until just a couple weeks ago. Sold it in mint condition. It's actually the first guitar I've ever sold but I feel that the JTV69 has replaced it well. I never encountered a single issue in the 11 years that I owned the guitar.
