I don't move my HD500X around much so I just leave the USB cable plugged in and run it back behind my amp. I plug the regular USB cable it into a USB extension cable that runs around to the other side of the amp. Then I only mess with the USB extension cable and don't even touch the one for the POD.

I tried it last night into Reaper on Win7. Sounds absolutely amazing and there was no perceptible latency.

This should be easy to accomplish with 2 separate paths. Set up the 4CM in the usual way. Create a second path and use another one of the Helix fx sends to go out to the Cube.

True, but you can easily split the path and run 2 IR's, identical or not. That's what I'm doing.

I went and took another look at the video and they actually had a PlimSoul set up in one of the effects loops.

I set up another patch last night with the JTV69 connected to Helix via VDI cable. This one had one of the JTV acoustic models going into the Taylor IR and out to a PA speaker while the magnetic pickups were going into a couple of effects and an amp block and out to a DT25 amp. Then I set up the expression pedal for toe up = acoustic and toe down = electric. Anywhere in between blends the 2 signal paths. It was easy and fun to set this up.

I don't think they saved them. I believe they just dialed in the tone they were after and recorded. None of them are posted on CustomTone either.

I had to re-flash firmware 1.02.2 because something must not have worked correctly the 1st time I flashed it. I thought it was all good but the sound would drop out on one particular factory preset everytime I selected it. Since the re-flash of 1.02.2 I've had zero problems. I spent most of this weekend putting Helix through a serious workout. I've been experimenting with Variax, regular guitars, PA, DT25, regular tube amps, headphones, IR's, an external expression pedal, MIDI and some other stuff. I've been building complex patches that go out to multiple devices as well. I feel that my Helix is very stable at the moment.

That must have been Capt. Anderton. He loves his Plimsoul. It's not in the effects but I'll bet you could reproduce anything it can do using included effects. Definitely wanting to check it out. The link you put for Chugalo Preset Download just brings me back to this page. The .wav file downloaded fine though. You should put the preset on CustomTone.

I just took about a minute and set up a quick Helix patch. My JTV69 is connected via the VDI cable only. I set up 2 paths. The first path has the input block set to Multi (Guitar, Aux, Variax). Then it goes into a really good Taylor 314ce - DPA 4011 impulse response. The output block is set to Multi as well. The second path has the input block set to Variax Magnetics. Then it goes through a Fender Twin Reverb amp (US Double Nrm). The output block is set to Multi. This works great and I'm definitely getting both sounds at once.

Seems to work the same as the HD500X, just plug it in and it works. Sounds incredible with my JTV69 into Helix and out to a DT25, or an Alto TS110A pa speaker or through headphones. I haven't tried forcing tunings yet like I do on my HD500X

I haven't tried gig volumes but my Alto TS110A sounds amazing with both Helix and a HD500X. I use XLR for both and choose studio direct on the HD500X.

I'm running it into several different setups: DT25 Amp with 1x12 Extension Cab (using MIDI to switch topologies & other stuff) Alto TS110A powered PA speaker Effects return of a Vetta II Combo Headphones These have all sounded amazing to me. Still haven't tried (but will): Effects return of a Peavey Bravo 112 tube amp As an effects only unit into the front of a Blackstar ID-30 (doesn't have an effects loop)

Oh, okay. So is the setup you're using is sort of like going into the effects return of an amp and then out to a cab?

Over on the mega-thread on TGP there are several people who meet this criteria. One guy is having a great time running into a Friedman ASM12. If you go check it out, search for posts by X-mann.

I'm not sure what the problem is; maybe a defective unit. My Variax 500, and now my JTV69, sound incredible. Even the acoustics sound great if I go into a PA. I hope you find a solution.

I'm not sure what your presets look like, but this simply looks like you've about run out of DSP on path 1. The reason they are all available on path 2 is because each of Helix's two DSP's are dedicated to a path. Unless I've misunderstood what you're saying, this isn't a bug; it's how it's designed.
