The only other thing I can think of is to select Studio Direct in the ouput settings for the HD500X. Also, on the input settings, it sometimes helps to set one of the inputs to guitar and the other to anything except the same (I use Aux).

The HD500 should be just fine through any quality PA system. I run mine through an Alto TS110A quite often and haven't had any problems.

I guess you can only do a soft reset without a MIDI connection. It looks like it will wipe out any user presets but restore the factory presets. Here's what I found in the Knowledge Base: Vetta I & II Soft Reset: Press the save button, and spin the Page knob until you get "Reset USER memory?". Press the Save button again and you will see the Vetta count through the channels one by one. Hard reset: Vetta Reflash procedures

I answered your message but I'll post it here as well. Here's a link to the DT Amplifier MIDI Implementation Guide. http://line6.com/media/dt50/DT_MIDIGuide_v2_0_RevA_English.pdf The part you're asking about is on page 2.2. So if you wanted to set up a footswitch to switch the DT to Channel B Voicing III you would: select the menu button (next to the SAVE button) select Command Center use the joystick to choose which footswitch you want to assign this command Rotate the Command knob to select MIDI CC Leave MIDI Ch set on Base Dial in 122 for CC# Dial in 6 for Value select Customize which will allow you to name the footswitch press OK when you're done Now whenever you press that footswitch the DT will go right to Channel B Voicing III For another example, if you just want to set up a footswitch to toggle between channel A & B on the DT, you would set MIDI CC# to 66 and any use any number you want for Value. (page 2.1)

For XLR, are you using a 110 ohm AES/EBU cable? It seems to make a huge difference. Also, is your XLR Outputs setting in Global Settings on Line or Instrument? Does your Helix sound good through headphones? I don't know why L6 Link wouldn't be sounding good.
-
Do you have the latest Uno drivers? If so, you might try a factory reset and give it another go. This could also be a Windows 10 thing. Do you have access to a computer with a different OS?

I tried it with a MIDI cable; piece of cake and works great.

I recently spent some time trying it out with my DT25. It sounded really good but I'm confused as to exactly how Helix and the DT interface with each other. It sounded fine with just the L6 Link cable hooked up but I wasn't sure if when I was using a preamp in Helix if I wasn't also using another preamp in the DT (like stacking preamps). It tried it with a MIDI cable and it was pretty cool to be able to switch topologies. I also tried it in 4-cable method and that's what I'm going to stick with until they add more DT support to Helix. Was it WAY better than the HD500? Not yet but I think it will be if Line 6 adds additional support to Helix.

Have you tried reversing the MIDI plugs? That worked for me.

I haven't seen anything in regards to moving them or turning them off. I know you can turn off the flashing LED though. If you select pedal edit mode (hold FS6 for 2 seconds) it changes the functionality of those 2 switches to MORE... and EXIT. (page 12 in the manual).
-
I think if you put a send block, followed by some modulation and time based effects, and then a return block, you will be completely skipping those effects when the send block is activated. You should take a look at the 4-cable method preset located in TEMPLATES. I was using that a lot this weekend and it's really well thought out.

I believe that the default pedal for volume is Exp1 and the default for Wah is Exp2. This should be easy to change by toggling with the joystick over to one of them and then manually assigning it at the bottom of the screen.

Very nice. Thanks.

Take a look at this excellent advice on the order of effects in MeAmBobbo's Tone Guide http://foobazaar.com/podhd/toneGuide/effects#order
-
I don't know if it has that capability but I'll bet you could get there with some Y cables. Put one Y cable on FX Send 1 and FX Send 2. Put another on their returns and then put FX loop 1 in one path and 2 in the other.

I was thinking along the same lines until I tried them. That 5150 preset is amazing as are the others. I'll definitely be using them.
-
You should be able to do that by pressing FS8. It's described on page 11 of the manual.

DT25 instead of my tube amp is not delivering
DarrellM5 replied to pol2711's topic in Dream Rig - Line 6 Product Integration
How does is sound if you bypass all amps and cabs in the HD500X and go into the front of the amp? Have you tried the 4 cable method? -
Congratulations! I'm having a blast with mine.

Yes, yes and yes. Check out this video by Glenn Delaune. He's demonstrating his custom patches but you'll see the answer to all three of your questions immediately. https://youtu.be/wTrRh8m8aIw

I had a problem with a particular preset that would kill the sound about 20 seconds after selecting it. This would repeat every time. Reflashing the firmware fixed it. Something must have gotten corrupted the first time I flashed the firmware. Note: This was with 1.02.2.

Download and install Line 6 Monkey 1.71. Hook up your JTV via the USB interface. Run Line 6 Monkey. Monkey should take it from there. I've heard of several of these selector knob tops falling off. People have been fixing them with Shoe Goo, silicon or super glue.

The Pilots Guide states: Aux In - This mono, unbalanced 1/4" input can be used for a second guitar or just about any other instrument. Visit the System & I/O edit pages for AUX IN routing options.
