  1. My gut feeling is that your gut feeling is right.
  2. Yeah, it's just my personal feelings about the matter; not trying to force my opinion on anyone else. Looks like they're targeting the Slayer/Slipknot folks. I know Ola Englund (from The Haunted) was involved with this amp and I think the name was his idea. One look at The Haunted lyrics and it's easy to tell why he picked that name. But back to my original question; the names of some of their patches seem to hint that they're using a model of that amp (or they dialed another one in to sound really similar). Just wondering how they got the tone.
  3. Wow, that was fast! Pretty cool. I wonder why they have patches with SATAN in them. I know Randall makes a metal amp called that but it's not in the model pack. Personally, I would never even consider buying a Roland SATAN due to the name. At least in this case you can change the names of the patches.
  4. I haven't noticed this behavior with my HD500X but my Vetta II likes to do that sometimes. It's not gradual either; it's all of a sudden and very noticeable.
  5. For the Vetta II Combo there are 2 options, normal or split stereo. This info is on page 4.43.
  6. I'll give it a try. The manual says that the 2 'Left/Mono' jacks are wired in parallel (Page 3.9). Also, page 4.47 states:

    manual :(

I much prefer pdf's to printed manuals. For my items that come with paper manuals; I usually toss it once I've downloaded a pdf. I don't really like to waste lots of paper and I like to have access to my manuals on my laptop, tablet and phone.
  8. IMHO the 5150 PRE through the DT25 rocks. I'm really lovin' it with my JTV69 and my PRS. I'm planning on trying a few more guitars tomorrow. This is just a blank patch, no effects, and tweaking the amp and cab parameters. Also, the Big Bottom sounds really good.
  9. Great to hear. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I may have to check out a 59 since I'm also a big PRS fan. I do love my JTV69 too.
  10. My Windows 7 machine crashed a few times but it has a tendency to do that whenever I unplug a Line 6 USB device (HD500X, GuitarPort).
  11. Yep, some of those Line 6 models are really great and they're part of the reason I won't let my Vetta II go.
  12. I tell everyone that if God wanted me to talk to people, he wouldn't have invented text messaging. I hate phone calls.
  13. The global eq is accessed through the setup screens on the HD500X. I believe it's page 11 of 12. I'm still looking for some of the new models myself.

    Firmware 2.6

My update went really smooth. Haven't had a chance to play the models much though. Also, there are models I was expecting but haven't found quite yet. Line 6 Monkey made the firmware updates easy. The email you get after purchasing the model packs has the instructions which makes it pretty simple. I purchased the model packs from the Line 6 store. I started Line 6 License Manager and authorized my HD500X then I fired up the new version of HD Edit and the new amp models were in there with all the others.
  15. I'll measure both tonight and post the results. It feels thinner to me. BTW, I like both necks.
  16. I like the Emissary amp vst from Ignite Amps and the Lepou stuff; works great with Reaper.
  17. That's a steal. Enjoy!
  18. This is just one of the many reasons that I've decided to buy all of my guitars from Sweetwater. I bought my JTV69 and a PRS SE Custom 24 from them and both guitars arrived set up perfectly. They were even almost in tune. I made an impulse purchase of an Ibanez RGIR27FE 7-string at a guitar shop in Reno and I wouldn't complete the sale until they spent 1/2 an hour knocking the sharp edges off the frets. Then I did a complete setup on it once I got it home; the truss rod needed 1 full turn total but now it plays great.
  19. Hopefully that won't happen to mine and I hope yours gets fixed quickly.
  20. It only went in the one time. I've had it back for a few days now and it sounds great. I've spent about 12 hours playing it since Friday morning.
  21. It blew the line fuse so I replaced it. Then, within minutes of operating, it blew the tube protection fuse. The tubes looked fine visually (no signs of damage and a healthy glow prior to blowing the other fuse) so I opened a support ticket. Then they suggested I send it in for a diagnosis. Since they left one of the JJ tubes in, I'm assuming that the tube in that position doesn't matter too much. I think I'll be sticking with the EH tubes in the other 2 slots though, even though I don't think the JJ's had anything to do with the amp failure.

    Apple Watch

Nope, but you'll never lose one. I'm not an Apple fan boy at all and I don't own any Apple products (I do carry a 4S work-issued phone) but the watch looks pretty cool from what I've seen so far. To see a Line 6 program running on it is neat. I'm definitely not getting one though as I have no plan to downgrade to the necessary iPhone that it requires.
  23. The Lester bridge position is pretty high gain compared to the other models IMO.
  24. If I was in a bind I would throw the D string from the Cobalt set on there until I could get the correct strings. There's only a .002 difference in the two (.024 Cobalt .026 D'Addario). Shouldn't be too noticeable.
