Thanks, I'll try it !

There is no magic involved in keeping electronic items from breaking. There are only false accusations and wishful bias involved in predicting the future of a product we buy, minus the 1-year warranty, of course. ;) That said, I've had mine for over a year now and turn it one at least 4 or 5 times a week for over several hours with no issues. Will mine break tomorrow? Only a fool would say they knew that answer. My answer is, I hope not...

Why are you sorry? The users are not the ones that need to be in any way sorry over this not being fully implemented.

So the photo you attached is before the show... But Helix blew up after the show? So what yer saying is, this happened after the show, so here are pictures before the show for proof? Nothing got moved around "during" the show? Didn't people drink anything during the show? And you would be surprised how moisture can get into places you wouldn't think possible. An overly humid day can cause an arc in the right places.

Too early to know anything other than it started to destruct. So someone could have spilled beer on it, or peed on it, or who knows what happen but it didn't go when it was pulling the most amps it pulls during the show. To me, that's a bit strange because if some part in Helix was flaky that's when it should have fried, not while sitting at idle after it's on for four hours after the show. My guess (speculation) is something wet helped that process along... So if I'm right, how would you feel OP, if you owned a company that produced a product that got blamed for blowing up for no reason, and found out later someone tipped over a beverage on it?

Wonderful!!!! And damn it too cause now I want one...

Some Carvin Legacy, please.

Well now, the question is did you have Buyers Remorse with Helix or did you like Helix after all and will be willing to mark the thread as resolved due to an operator unfamiliarity?
-
You don't need to see the obi wah. These aren't the wahs you are looking for...

Ok, I gotta say this and as always YMMV. Helix is very adaptable but it's not to be confused with (or designed to be ) a cheap swiss army knife for every audio device made by Ronco, so if you want a $23.00 one of those... then buy one because I'd rather have the pro features in Helix now, versus a Macgyver special. Exactly.

Yes, I did and the Audience is Listening! ;)

A clip indicator, unless they use what's already there somehow, probably won't show up till Helix #2. I'd like to be proven wrong on this one however... The way I do it is run Helix thru my mixer 1st and use those channel leds to set the clip into my interface.

There were two new arms that came with mine Duncann, the one you see and a padded one. Is that the ultralight perhaps? Looks just like the one in the pics I looked at. I just love the Brass (gold) pickguard with "Tree of Life" on it- sets it off for me. But I'm glad you like it in a strange sorta way... ;)
-
Thanks, guys!! I just love it. It moans and growls for days with Helix. If you are even wondering, I found a pickguard maker on Ebay. He lives in Germany and makes them there and then ships over here. I waited for abt a month and got it in this morning! his Ebay name is tolian_soran , and I really like his work.

Hey, it's all good. I just wanted to point it out and as always YMMV. :D

The only thing she does better than looking good is how she sounds with Helix ;) ..

I think that there is still residual stepping there in 5:58 on the O-scope thus the noise seen, covered up and smoothed by some kind of internal dithering. Yea I know I'm stubborn (but not stupid) and so its clear what the guy shows. But, that's the only explanation for the noise I see on the O-scope @ 5:58 (versus 2:22) in the video. So, once again if that's not it, what is it then?
-
Look at the trace on the Oscope and compare it to the one @ 2:22. It's much dirtier/noisier. And yes you can see noise on an O-scope. That's why they make O-scopes bud. It's a troubleshooting tool for Electronic techs as well as Engineers. That's what most techs have used for decades looking at signals and dirty power/ripple. At 2:22 there is hardly any noise compared with the Oscope trace at 5:58. Have you ever used an O-scope before Cool, or are you just going by this video? No slam intended, but I've used one for around 40 years off and on and can immediately tell by looking at the traces whether they are dirty/noisy with ripple or clean signals. The one at 5:58 has noise on it.
-
Can you explain the noise @ 5:58 on the Oscope waveform that wasn't there @ 2:22? That's a good Oscope he was using. If there was not noise there it would not have shown it. So given there was noise, where was it coming from?
-
Nope, never had this issue. Try it with nothing connected and see if it does the same thing.
-
I see and get the noise floor, so thanks for that Phil. Wow on the Dither difference! But If you will notice the analog waveform changed from clean @ 2:22, to a bit fuzzy looking 5:58 in the video. Look close. I would wager if he hit MAG you would see some tiny stair stepping noise there... :) Yes the frequency did go up and it is still the same overall shape on the scope, but the converted analog signal there is not as clean @ the higher frequency after D to A conversion is my point. So for argument's sake, if the analogy is wrong, and if we are using the best analog scope to test this, and if there is no stair step increase at higher frequencies, then why is there a bit more fuzzy looking waveform at the higher freq's? What else has changed (besides the frequency itself) to cause this then? Is the D to A converter not smoothing out the analog as well as today's interfaces do perhaps? Great geekoid video however, I enjoyed it!

I deal with the wee bit of lag and use the editor exclusively.

I think I read where the Helix warranty follows the unit. So In that case, the new Helix user (of a used Helix once re-registered) should be able to also buy Native for the $99.00 fee. That's if this were my company, which its not. ;)

The Nice thing about Helix is the "flexibility". You can use the amps and cabs and effects in it, or choose one or all of your own real or virtual, routed in and slotted in just about any way you desire.
