  1. Get a Helix to stumblinman. I'll make vids for you :)
  2. Ordered. On a slow boat from China, so when it arrives next month I'll update with results. Really looking forward to seeing if it helps eliminate sympathetic vibrations through the bridge.
  3. FX8 isn't true bypass, it's buffered. It's right there in the literature you quoted. Go spout your drivel somewhere else please. .
  4. I think they said up to 16 mics on a cab or something ludicrous like that?
  5. This is used daily in industrial process instrumentation. I do this on a daily basis. Such a ridiculous way to cash in on ignorance. Maybe Fractal clipped the shield with premium-grade wire cutters, unlike the cheap Chinese cutters used by the competition...
  6. So Phil, how's the bypass tone compared to straight to amp? Volume level, tone suck etc? I don't need solid numbers, just ballpark "in your opinion" statement. Volume levels consistent? Loops don't require ridiculous tweaking to get unity gain?
  7. It's capitalized, which leads me to believe it's a trademarked phrase. I don't care enough about it to ask anyone at fractal though :) I'm fine with buffered, true bypass, or tin cans and string as long as it sounds good. Just didn't want something misrepresented and used as a knock against a product that isn't even out yet and may or may not cause a tone issue.
  8. No. You said true bypass. Can't change now and say buffered is ok. Not the same. Don't tout the fx8 as true bypass when it's buffered. Can't have it both ways. But I understand what you are saying. The less signal change the better.
  9. Save up a little more cash and buy a DT25. It's a real amp that will give you almost all the amps in the HD, and then you can add pedals you may need separately. Plus, it's a loud or quiet practice device, and it's easier to dial in if you don't want to mess with all the settings in the Pod.
  10. It says right in the blurb there "the buffered signal". Sounds like it's a buffered path that merely avoids the DSP portion of it, but is still buffered, not true bypass. Some pretty good word wizardry there though, hoping folks don't catch the word "buffered".
  11. Not disparaging DI, just reading between the lines. I mean no harm :)
  12. Cliff is up in arms lol. He really sounds on the defensive. "We have the best tones ever, and if it's you know, features and options you want, then I guess you could buy Helix. I've never heard it, but I can guarantee we are waaaay better. " Ok, I paraphrased, but his posts are really funny.
  13. Looks like I'm buying it. I can't seem to let it go. Thinking about it all night lol.
  14. The vid wouldn't load when I first looked. I saw it later. Plus, that was a joke. Calm down man... Looks like it has everything folks have wanted. People on TGP are already saying AX8 will still be better lol. They're not even on the market yet!
  15. Doesn't say if new amp models or same HD ones. The new fx would be nice. I didn't see a power switch though.... ;) Looks pretty awesome. Too expensive for me to play bar gigs with.
  16. It's there to account for position. Might be worth testing.
  17. Doesn't the l2t have an accelerometer in it that automatically changes eq settings based on position? Monitor mode, speaker stand mode and traditional mode? I could swear I read something about that. There's a pole mount sensor inside as well. I know the l2m has it...
  18. Thanks. I'm just looking to get the strings off of the bridge and strictly onto the piezos, so the simple trapeze should suit me perfectly. Thanks!
  19. Did I miss the link in this thread showing where to buy the tailpiece? I'd like to do that myself. Thanks.
  20. Where's that Michael Jackson meme..........
  21. It's not theft. Any business in America, other than maybe a grocery store, whether appliances, clothing, or musical instruments will honor a sale price when it comes up within a reasonable time (generally within their normal return window). Calm down. Edit: Let me rephrase. Any business wanting repeat business and customer loyalty.
  22. Nah, the best money I've spent on L6 gear is probably the thing I don't even use anymore: Relay G50. That's a great piece of gear. Can you even get an item for $30 from these guys? Well, I guess NOW you can.. Should have waited to buy the full bundle. $30 can buy a lot of strings and picks.
  23. With good reason. L6 must need to show a little more profit for Q2 and this is a good way to get the people on the fence about it to make up their mind and lay their money down. It's a $30 lesson for me.
  24. Return it and re-buy. They have a 30 day return policy.
